Looks nice, quite similar to the decks I use. Regarding recoveries, I have the problem that sometimes (not always) the directors try to park me in front of the island - even though there are statics there and even though elevator 1 and the space in between elevator 1 and 2 is completely free. Does this occur to you as well? Where do the directors usually send you with your deck setup?

Lun Class ekranoplan Early Access Release
Tomcatter87 replied to Beldin's topic in Static/AI Mods for DCS World
Hope there will be a fix for the texture issue - both mods would complement each other really nicely. -
They'll receive it in after only two weeks, pardon, 12 to 15 years, which was the average waiting time for a Trabbi.

Those assets would be so great for the upcoming Germany map.

With the new Cold War Germany map coming up, maybe that's an occasion for some new assets? Like Transall C-160, CH-53, MiG-17...

It's a bummer to see the map will end just some kilometers north of my hometown. That being said, I'm blown away with how big this map is going to be, and that even water will be included. Much more that I was hoping for. This is gonna be awesome! Please do not forget some important German F-4F Phantom bases - we're talking about the 80s here, so the "Luftverteidigungsdiesel" is pretty important. So far, the only one we'll get at release is Pferdsfeld. Laage is included, but being located in the GDR, it hosted Phantoms from the late 1990s on, some years after the re-unification. Bremgarten is too far south, Leck sadly seems just a tad too far north to be included. Wittmundhafen is outside of the first zone, but should hopefully be introduced in the first update. Neuburg is too far south again, Hopsten might come in phase 3. Pferdsfeld and Laage (for later scenarios) will be included in the first phase (yeah!) and Manching is too far south and not too important for our needs, not hosting an active squadron. Agree with @Minsky . Having done a nice looking VFC-13 blue splinter camo for the old F-5, I intended to release a version for the updated model. But there's no way I'll do that without being able to use the Model Viewer. Which is sad, because for the F-5 there would be so many great liveries the skinning community could do. In my eyes, there's two possible solutions: Enable the Model Viewer to view the encrypted 3D models or introduce a "refresh textures" button for the mission editor's armament menu.

AI Wingman lowers flaps with wings swept back

Flying the Tomcat again those days I was reminded this bug is still there @Silhou @IronMike . It really looks ugly, it would be much appreciated if it was finally resolved. -
Strange looking textures in mountain villages
Tomcatter87 replied to skywalker22's topic in Bugs and Problems
Agreed, the transitions between texture areas could be much improved. -
OH-6A by Tobsen and Eightball
Tomcatter87 replied to tobi's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
Sad to learn this. It seemed to go along quite well. -
Flew in Bagram yesterday. Great update! Might become my new favourite airbase there. Love the improved textures and mesh, although the mountain shapes still could be smoother for helicopter and low level ops. Looking forward to placing a carrier into the now introduced water patch.

Military Assets for DCS by Currenthill

More (working) tankers would be great, however I'd rather like to see some cold war tankers like the KC-10, KC-135 with "iron maiden"-hose, british Victor, Nimrod, VC-10 and so on. -
Sounds like we're having a similar problem. Cairo works fine for me, but all the bigger cities in Iraq cause an instant CTD as soon as they come in sight. Kirkuk for example. While the Kola Map or even some areas of Caucasus can cause the fps to lower, it doesn't happen here.

The L version might have been introduced in 1977, but I'm pretty sure other versions were still around for quite a few years. On this picture we can see a non-L variant on a Tomcat - as late as 1994. Heatblur posted something about the upcoming news for the F-14 on Facebook (and propably other platforms). I'm really looking forward to the early A model - seems with the RWR, we'll have to get used to some new workflows. See their post on Facebook: Tomcat Update! In some ways; 2025 is a... - Heatblur Simulations | Facebook One thing I don't get, though: Why does Heatblur point out the Expanded Chaff Adaptor and the ECM pod as news? Those have been around for a long time now.

I second the wish for more Sidewinder versions. For early 80s-stuff, we'd definitely need them. As a workaround for now, there's a nice mod. I'm not sure if it is compatible with the current DCS version, though. Iranian F-14 Weapons Pack (V1.2.8)

Would be great, but I fear since the 3D model is a US Soldier, a skin alone won't do.

I did not find any request here on the forums, so here's one thing that really annoys me about the Afghanistan Map. It's the shape of the mountains - the mesh is really rough, even in the "detailed" areas. There's hardly any mountain summit without ugly edges and odd, unnatural shapes. This makes it really hard to find suitable spots for landing zones for helo missions. Please, improve the terrain mesh

Thanks for the update, good to know.

Thanks, @sleighzy ! I'll take a look if I find some overclocking, because for my part I didn't do anything like that. Sometimes I also get a driver timeout error warning from my GPU software - so I guess the GPU is the problem. How is it possible to remove a factory overclock?
-
It sure would be great if the Iraq Map got some optimisation. The VRAM overload crashes my computer as soon as I fly over urban areas like Kirkuk, Baghdad or Fallujah. On the Sinai map, for example, there's also lots of objects, but it's running really smooth, even right over Cairo.

Official liveries for CW Germany neighboring countries
Tomcatter87 replied to twistking's topic in Wish List
There definitely is a nice Norwegian Skin included with the F-5E remaster. That being said, the RNoAF had plenty of other great paintjobs - an olive green one and a colourful one, for example. Also an Austrian skin is included in DCS. Important would be Dutch F-5s, of course, and Aggressor F-5s of the USAF that were stationed in RAF Alconbury flew in Germany as well.
