Whenever a sound is played (triggered via "sound to coalition"), the airboss can not hear it from the bridge. When switching to an outside view of the carrier (F9) the sound can be heard.

That's quite a good idea, in fact. The updated Supercarrier manual also says on page 55: "If no such parking spots are available, the aircraft is moved to one of the parking spots on elevator №4." There is no taxi route provided for those, but maybe planes can reach elevator 4 too, without getting close to the island.

That's why I fear for our crowded (but realistic) flightdecks. Best thing would be if ED decided to move the taxi route to the landing area - in this video of Growler Jams you can see they do it this way, from min 4:50 on. Currently, AI flights taxi just through statics. So this would be a cosmetic issue, as long as player's planes are not directed into the statics. If statics in front of the island however block the taxi route and the new directors choose different parking spots, it might be useful to use a script (function "destroy") to clear elevators 1 and 2, the corral and the area right of Cat 1 of any static objects i order to get some parking space.

Following this with great interest. On all pictures and videos I know, the area in front of the island is crowded with stuff. If I read Wags reply and the updated Supercarrier manual correctly, we wont be able to put static objects there, which would really be a pity. But it seems every plane thats headed to the back of the ship is supposed to taxi through there. Wish there was a way to avoid it.

I'm really looking forward to this feature, it will add a lot of immersion to our sim. However I fear it might interfere with the way I set up flightdecks - which I and many others take pride in. Isn't the area in front of the island, the hummer hole and the junkyard, usually crowded with at least one E-2, helos, a tilly crane and other stuff? In the video as well as the updated Super carrier manual, it looks like you have to taxi right through there. I can't really imagine that in real life the space there is emptied for recovery - can anyone shed some light on this? Where would planes taxi when the are directed to the elevators on the back or to the ramp?

That would be great - it won't work as a tanker, of course, but good liveries and nice statics really add a lot to missions. -

Yes, that's true. All user files of the tanker version are broken - but only those, the normal S-3 liveries still work. It seems the files from the 3D model have been renamed. I reported this, ED promised to take a look at it. So if someone manages to make a working description.lua file, just let me know, I'll update the skins. So far I'm out of ideas what to do. -

I really like the option to designate Waypoint Types in the mission editor. Is there a list of the different waypoint types and which abbreviations to use for them? -
When playing as a pilot, it is possible to assign waypoints and targets to AI flights via the F10-Map. I'm not sure if this is a Combined Arms feature though. As an airboss, I do not have those features. At least I didn't when I last checked. But it would be really cool - watching the planes take off, maybe even triggering the takeoffs as needed, and assigning targets to them and watch the fireworks. Basically, unlocking the mentioned feature would be really cool. Even better would be anhanced options like ordering AI flights to circle or to RTB and to set their rules of engagement. All of this would make the Airboss station really enjoyable.

As the creator of two S-3 skin packs, I hope there's a solution for this. I'm taking a look at it right now, so far I have not found one. The S-3 3D model is encrypted, so we cannot create a livery-LUA file the way we used to. It seems that the parts of the 3d model have been renamed, just for the tanker. It's now trial and error for me if I can get it to work again . But maybe someone who knows what's going on can help here. I'm a textures guy, dont know much about thau LUA stuff.

Hey there, a while ago I created two skin packs for the beautiful new S-3B viking and got a lot of great feedback for it. I now noticed that all the skins stopped working for the S-3 Tanker version. They are still listed, but only the default skin with the non-existing modex number 727 shows up. For the normal S-3, all liveries still work. Can you guys n' gals confirm this? Is this a bug? Or maybe some file path has changed? I'd really appreciate some help, it would be nice to get those liveries running again, since I put a lot of love and effort in those.

I'm trying to find out the factors that might trigger it. Just flew a mission and Jester worked well. I'll write in the report if I find something. I have the suspicion that it might happen after changing player slots or rearming. If I manage to trigger it again, I'll upload a track file. -
Just double-checked it. There are white caps, but in my opinion the sea still seems calmer than it used to. Almost no waves at 25 kts, some waves at 80 knots. Ships are pitching quite a lot - far more than the waves. Here's some screenshots. One at 25 kts wind, one at 80 knots. In which section should I post my mission file? Weather Bugs? Is it possible that the waves are bugged now? I set wind to 25 kts, no white caps to be seen.

Jester Can't Hold Target Designation in LANTIRN

LANTIRN with Jester is totally bugged at the moment. I opened a thread about it in the bug section, many other players confirmed it. He is not searching for targets, not slewing the pod to waypoints but keeps on cycling through the laser code. -

Cool to see the expanded chaff adapter has been made functional, I'm looking forward to using it. I was hoping for a fix that makes Jester able to use LANTIRN again. Don't see it on the Changelog, that's quite disappointing. The pod is quite central for the Tomcat. In the thread I opened up about this, many people confirmed this bug. No reaction from Heatblur whatsoever. -

There's an option in the crew contract section of the jester menu to disable jester. If you just tell him to be quiet, he'll continue to do weird stuff with the LANTIRN. But hey, maybe the latest update fixes this behavior. Haven't tried yet. -
Wow, that's a big update. I was hoping for some updates and fixes for Heatblur stuff, too... ?

Only way to drop LGBs right now is to disable Jester, jump to the backseat, do the acquiring part, then jump to the front seat and pickle. -
LANTIRN is bugged at the moment. I opened a thread in the bug section - under some circumstances, he does not do anything with the LANTIRN.

I'm not sure if the bird strike is modelled in all modules. I've read somewhere it would only work in the A-10 - but I dont know if that is true. But I think you could program an engine failure in the mission editor.
