You can?? The modules don't release to steam until after they have been on beta for awhile, sometimes even stable branch then steam....Things could have changed so I could be wrong, but I was under the impression that steam was stable only, and usually last to get modules.

Considering how new wake turbulence is, I would definitely assume it's still wip. That being said I haven't encountered any instances that have been too egregious. I'm no expert on the physics of the matter though so there might be discrepancies that I'm just unaware of. Pretty cool though, makes dogfights a little more interesting.

I love Steam...for everything but DCS. I agree with all the financial arguments, that is a hefty chunk, but really what did it for me is the release times. You want the new stuff, you gotta be on beta... If your on beta, then you aint on Steam, simple as that.

Answer me this! Multi-target JDAM and JSOW
Mad_Max2 replied to Silver Dart Sims's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Yup! "L" and "R" will be displayed at some point. Allowing you to keep them all on PP1 -
Unknown ATM. I would assume that since the target was end of June, the release won't be too far out. That being said, there may have been an issue that caused a delay, thus why the June target window was missed.

every time....... It's no wonder ED went dark back in the day in regards to release dates.
-
Will it be possible to set multiple mark points and then use said mark points for JDAM/JSOW? Allowing you to ripple off bombs each going to their own mark point?
-
Man when I can look at something with the JHMCS and designate it as a tgt... It's a wrap. I love the hog but that will probably be the nail in the coffin.
-
Yup, if your looking for rock solid dates, your wasting your time. Very fluid process. I would venture to say however that the schedule will "normalize" moving forward. This past month had a lot of stuff going on, not only with the hornet, but with DCS in general.

July 3rd perhaps?? Regardless, it will be soon. They wouldn't have said what they said unless it was somewhere in the ballpark.

tbh...idc where the pod attaches, I just want it!

Just take the weakness of the JSOW and incorporate it into the mission. Have threats that are unknown to attackers. Spread out/layer defenses to mess with launch zones. Use terrain to mask targets. Use moving targets. Inject some enemy enemy air to disrupt approach. There's quite a bit you can do to make it challenging tbh... I think this is a case of new toy, how do we use it? Let it simmer in the community for a few weeks and it will work itself out.

Anything less than 500gb is a waste of time nowadays. I would strongly suggest 1Tb at least to be honest. Not cheap, but the reality is you can spend that money now, or you can buy something less and just have to replace it...Ultimately spending more money than you would have just buying it from the jump.

Hoping to learn more about the new devs in town over the next couple months/years. I already like how they've gone about their business though. No pre-order, or kickstarter, or even any fanfare really..and they put out a solid module. I like that attitude in a first release (on DCS). Shows they're willing to build a rep organically before they start asking for your money pre-launch. Keep 'em coming!

My bet is on this. Has been a little weird not having the updates though. Come back Wags! lol :)

Nice! This helps a ton! Wasn't trying to convert on the fly. Will be nice when grid format is available...even better when we can laser spot w/TGP. One step at a time I suppose.
-
In regards to GBU's, how are you guys finding your targets?.. Assuming it's not at a waypoint, or marked with smoke. Are you entering in the location the JTAC gives? (converting grid to lat lon?)

I dig it!

Exactly what I was looking for! Thank you! Obviously a lot of practice involved, but at least I'm not pulling the method out of my arse now lol!
-
....this is pure gold! Thank you for greatest complaint form I've ever seen!

 Life's tough buddy.

This is probably the best way to put it. It's about the basics. The Huey in particular will hammer you with those basics, but once you get it you're golden! HAHAHA!! Oh the Mi-8...Honestly I treat that thing like plane now. Keep 'er moving forward at all times and glideslope it all the way down to a nice open runway. I know it's possible to treat it like a helo.... but it's also nice to keep the tail attached to the aircraft... How do you do those fast swoop in landings you see in old Vietnam videos?! I can bring it in nice and easy all day, but when it comes to quick landings I haven't found the trick. I'm talking where you got a spot on the ground and you need to be there 5 min ago...and it's a hot zone, etc... Teach me jedi master! lol

LOL! I didn't think the matrix code was that funny, in fact I just thought they were trying out different visual effects for blackout, but now knowing some ppl lost their minds over it thinking their computer was messed up I can't help but laugh... I mean come on guys...

As someone who just dabbles in helos I can offer kind of a neutral opinion. I think the huey will be updated in a similar fashion as the warbirds, A-10C, and KA-50. When? idk, we're still waiting on the hog and shark, but I highly HIGHLY doubt the huey is "dead." Unfortunately with these updates it seems there's a period of time where the module is stuck in limbo. Where updates are scarce and bugs go unsolved seemingly to wait for the "big revamp." The shark specifically comes to mind on that one. Of course this is just my opinion so I could very well be wrong.
