[RESOLVED] Possible BUG REPORT - 'after Autopilot flight'
Mad_Max2 replied to The_Bullet_Chef's topic in Bugs and Problems
Just so you know, flight inputs don't disengage the main autopilot. Not saying thats the problem, just a heads up. I've had autopilot toggle bound to china hat fwd, and alt hold to china hat aft. Haven't had a problem since release. So with that being said it sounds like it might be a problem with how it is bound...possibly even with using engage and disengage rather than toggle. idk... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ -
[NO BUG] Far too easy to over G the plane with no feedback.

Altering realistic effects to compensate for lack of practice is not the answer. -
track not playing back what ive just flown
Mad_Max2 replied to chaser's topic in View and Spotting Bugs
So the key to all this is the AI's ability to replicate what you did. Hmm.... Hopefully the AI improvements ED has been working on will improve replays. But then there's stuff like this that sounds like more than AI problems -

lol! welcome to the party buddy! It's been this way as long as I've been playing, and from what I've seen, it was like this long before. It's not a true replay in a sense...Its almost as if the game is trying to simulate what you (and everything else) did in real time. This allows you to change the camera around and what not, but leads to errors a lot. If it was a pure recording/replay then you'd be stuck with whatever camera view you had set. This is just what I've observed...I could be wrong. I have not seen an official response to this issue... Which is odd because I've seen multiple threads saying just this over the years. Idk... Sure makes trying to record videos a real treat. -
[RESOLVED] Possible BUG REPORT - 'after Autopilot flight'

hmmm... weird, my trim works fine. Tried with and without use of alt hold, threw some maneuvers in there too. All good. -
Was wondering this as well. I feel like it has to do with looking at it on a 2D screen, whereas IRL the stick would physically be closer to you allowing a better angle down at the screen. Idk.... I could be wrong.
-
I thought so. I feel like it was mentioned at some point during the dev process that it would come during EA. Been a while since I saw that though so I figured I'd throw this out there.

Just testing the waters on the possibility of getting a hidden stick feature.

Running request - Bindable Button / Axis options
Mad_Max2 replied to maverickturner's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Ahh yes!... Should have just read the damn manual. After testing it looks like the auto maneuvering flaps do just fine. Nice to know how to use in manual though! -

maneuvering flaps axis and/or bindings would be nice! -
PSA: Virtual CVWs should have a 'v' for 'virtual'

LOL! and you listened? You got played... -
I wasn't suggesting AMRAAM's on A-10's is equivalent to GBU-12's on a C-101. I was making a point that an aircraft flying in a region it hasn't in real life is not the same as an aircraft carrying munitions it can't in real life. One is possible, the other isn't. ie: There is nothing technically stopping the hog from flying in Georgia IRL, yet there is plenty stopping it from carrying incompatible loads. Yes, aircraft can be refit, and I would assume in wartime this would be done pretty rapidly like you suggest. In this case though it's just hypothetical, as the C-101 was never refit to carry GBU-12's. At the end of the day guys, DCS doesn't hang their hat on hypothetical's, close enough's, or what if's. The foundation for this game is realism at a level not seen anywhere else. That's why you pay $50-$70 for aircraft.
-
Yet an A-10 is perfectly capable of flying over Georgia, or any country for that matter. You're not going to see it carrying AMRAAM's though. Your lumping something that is possible with something that isn't. In DCS if it is possible, chances are you will see it. If it's not then you wont. Strapping whatever munition you want to any aircraft is not possible. DCS is where it is today because of it's attention to realism. The "few" that you claim care about it are in fact the many.
-
+1 I don't use that feature solely because of this issue.
-
 I'm pretty sure every aircraft with a PFM has it in some way or another. It's just a matter of the aircraft's flight envelope and what you're doing with it. There are some though that shake and rattle more than others..... I'm looking at you MiG-21.
-
F-5 will force you to master ACM/BFM... which isn't necessarily a bad thing. M-2000C gives you the fly-by-wire feel of the hornet (even more pronounced IMO) and improved radar and payload options... loses some of the simple charm the F-5 has though. FC3 gives you fighter paradise, however, your missing out on the full-fidelity aspect of DCS. If your not oppose to some ground and pound there are many more options as well. :music_whistling:I don't know if you've heard... but the F-14B is right around the corner, might want to give that a look also.

Idk... I'm 27, and I'm over here shaking my head at some of these comments. Really pretty crazy.
-
At the end of the day, none of this has to exist. My hat goes off to those who have put in the work to make sure it does!
-
This is so ridiculously out of the realm of possibility that it's brilliant. You got my vote if for no other reason than the funny comments this thread has produced.
-
There are multiple uses for something like this, not just storytelling. It's a full screen for creators to use their imagination with. Training missions really come to mind. Key aspects could be shown beforehand. Overview of opponents and how they maneuver/ how you should maneuver in ACM/BFM type missions. You could even attempt things like walking to the jet depending on when the video would take place. Even if you just threw the same briefing cards up it would be worth it for the full screen alone. I see it as a tool that could be used for some cool things. Don't want to see it. Press space, or esc, or whatever. win -win.

Ejections seats functionality, multiplayer concerns.
Mad_Max2 replied to Jumbik's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I'm pretty sure this happened in Jabbers stream. Punched out before a crash, while he stayed in. I've also seen him go down with the plane though as well, so idk what triggers it. Probably has to be set on Rio only and in a 100% gonna crash type scenario. -
1. Yes, that setup should be just fine. As you spend more time in the sim you may crave a more refined control setup though. Cross that bridge when you get there. 2. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php...4&postcount=13 This covers what is planned for the Hornet. A lot of the list has been implemented. Datalink and related pages are coming soon. Atflir/lightning pods, JDAM, and some other stuff still aren't in, but updates have been moving along at a decent clip. Fun plane to fly, have fun!

"In the meantime, we are shooting for (not a promise) D/L SA page and HARM TOO mode for 27 February." Looks like they're shooting for the 27th.

If the Hornet was done I'd say that all day...but as DCS currently stands......well ...yeah still the Hornet  I'm a mud mover though so i'm jones'n for the TGP.
