  1. I started with Longbow back in the DOS days, and have been hooked on heli sims ever since. I tinkered with fixed wing a bit, in particular Janes F15, and a little IL2. Ive put a far bit of time into EECH1/2/DO as well in the last couple of years. I like playing the cat and mouse game that heli sims offer. Creeping up on targets while blowing up the dust as you creep through the trees is very exiting(Hmm Trees, DCS's only weakness ive seen so far) Ive got a whole bunch of RC Heli's as well, so i guess its rotors all the way for me :) Id like a 6channel KA50 coax heli for my RC collection, if anybody from E-sky is listening, wink wink :) DCS Rocks :D
  2. Id suggest turning on Flight Director and it should fly quite ok until you do a little research on the Auto pilot and Trim function. Once you get an understanding of this heli you can go hands free and it will fly itself when required. I think the auto pilot will beat up on anybody new to this sim at first.
  3. If i purchase the English version, can i activate it using my Russian CD Key? The reason I ask this is that I would have two working english versions. I want to run one copy on a second PC as a server, to which I connect via LAN IP and other players connect via internet. This is how I ran my EECH1/2 servers so my client input didnt effect other players, and I could come and go as i pleased. Also my main gaming PC would not be tied up all the time the server was live.
  4. You can use these if you like- Link- http://files.filefront.com/KA50+RS+MissionEdit7z/;12537470;/fileinfo.html The translation isnt ideal as i just ran the mission info through google translator, but its good enough to allow you to under stand mission objectives

  5. For me its around 30-60fps depending whats going on. spec- core2duo8200 @3.2 OC, 2gb pc6400ram, ASUS EN8800GT, res1280x800, Vista32, everything on high quality, and high view distance, as well as SetAffinity2 running second core. ps- good to see you onboard Nephilim. I'll try and hook up one weekend for some multiplay action once im happy with my competency with this bird. Ive got the basics well under way, but still plenty of dark areas ;) regards --=Bravo46=--
  6. Ive just been down this track Tango. Ive edited all the single missions for ramp start and renamed them with what I thought was an apt mission name in english. I havnt flown them all yet so the mission name might be off target. Im not sure yet. Install- move the default files to another backup folder and put these files in there place. Link- http://files.filefront.com/KA50+RS+MissionEdit7z/;12537470;/fileinfo.html ps- ED: is there any problem with uploading this kind of content? if so please let me know and i'll pull the file from FF.
  7. Ive been practicing ramp start, but i always have to shut it down first, as its ready to roll when my mission starts. I think i read in the past that there is an option for heli to be idle at mission start. Does anybody know where this option is located? Thx :)
  8. For some reason DCS defaulted collective to my X52 Slider. Go to Options>controls>drop down list and select "Axis Commands">Clear Slider1 from collective> change to JOY Z If you want pull collective the choose AXIS TUNE>INVERT
  9. The things you want to do are in Options>control>(drop menu)axis commands
  10. I didnt want to add more Heli's, but just make the AI wingman flyable, so the single missions would be two player(on the same side) coop missions. Thx for your input guys :)
  11. Can the single mission files be added to the multiplay folder and flown as two player multiplay coop missions? If not can they be easily edited to be used in multiplay in this way?
  12. Every now and then my SHKVAL goes wild sweeping from side to side as well as up and down. Hitting the lock button doesnt stop the sweep like it does during a normal automated sweep which just goes from left to right? Shutting down the SHKVAL and other weapons systems doesnt rectify the problem either. The only way i can get it to function again is to restart the mission. Has anybody else experienced this? is it a known bug? perhaps part of the input bug? My Spec - Core2duo8200/NV8800GT/Asus22''wide LCD/2gbRAM/Vista32ultimate/X52pro/Saitek Pro pedals/Saitek Cyborg Keyboard/TrackIR4
  13. The only way you could use the slider for rudder is to profile it into three bands and assign the two outer bands to keys X and Y, but i doubt you would ever be able to fly Heli's properly that way. Use your cyclic twist axis for rudder[JOY Z] , or buy some pedals :)
  14. Ive managed to remove a lot of the dolphin effect that follows Trim input by adding a small(value10) dead zone in the pitch axis via the ingame axis commands "axis tune".
  15. Go>game options>controls>drop down menu>axis commands>clear slider1 from collective>assign JOY RZ If you want to have a heli pull type collective>choose axis tune>invert Now your slider1 is free, you may want to asign it to "zoom view" in the axis commands, and invert if you like.
  16. I find zooming the pit after aquiring target gives me much larger HUD making it easier to get in a fireing postion.
  17. Have to agree here 100%. Prior to reading your explanations I was at a loss regarding the trim, and continually fighting the heli inflight. I was starting to think the Trim was on the bug list to be fixed. Now i can fly hands free a lot more, and enjoy the view, and am far less likly to crash while inputing the pit. Thankyou :) Im starting to get the hang of this sim as you can see from this screenshot from last nights flight ;)
  18. Ive used this method before in other games Deadsmell, but in DCS you can assign "zoom view" in the "axis commands" without adding it to your SST profile. Its fluid action. It can also be asigned to either the X or Y rotarys on your throttle. Try assigning zoom view to JOY SLIDER1, or JOY RX, or JOY RY. In DCS because of the clickable pit you dont really need to assign as much to your joystick. My cyclic configured similarly to the LLTM08 pic on page2 of this thread in URZE's post. Link- http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=32467&page=2 On my throttle i use the throttle hat for the SHKVAL zoom, and Target frame, the throttle wheel is my scroll for turning knobs, wheel button for left mouse so i can click buttons in the pit, clutch=counter measures, D=LW reset, and E= route mode, ministick changes weapon stations. Ive also cleared my my keypad of view commands, and offloaded the WIN key combinations there. That way i have a simple method of directing the wingmen without key combinations. Offloading the WIN commands also allows me to utilize Cyborg mode "C" keys on my Saitek keyboard.
  19. Try turning off "Heading Hold" > rotate to target > turn on heading hold
  20. Go to the controller config page eg: options>controls>(Drop down menu)axis commands>set Collective to "JOY_Z">if you want pull type collective choose "AXIS TUNE">invert I use the slider to "zoom pit view" as it makes it easy to view ABTIS(Zoom view=Joy Slider1) :)
  21. I purchased the Russian version, and will most likly pickup the english dvd version, if it ever makes it to Australia. Although i think if i fly this sim enough then the cockpit labels may become just an accepted part of the sim. I'd like a spiral bound manual though for toilet reading and such ;)
  22. Ive asigned my throttle slider to zoom views, which makes viewing the ABRIS crystal clear, or just use NUMPAD+/ and NUMPAD+*
  23. Definitly a healthy FPS boost on my Vista32/core2 8200/8800gt rig. I can now set res to 1280x800 with everything set high to except view distance to medium. The start of Mission2 is a reasonable benchmark mission for me.
  24. Just follow the thumbnail to imageshack, then click on picture to upsize it to full size. Then right click on picture and select "save picture as" The download file just had some precut images ready for a standard printer thats all.
  25. Roger, same guy. Now im a KA50 lurker ;) Still waiting for my wings though:pilotfly:
