Something I noticed today whiole running my server. After restarting the same map, clients were greeted with a second dl of the same map? I figured map DL's were located in the temp folder but they carry a timestamp rather than a file name. Could this be patched in that downloaded miz files carry their original file name so clients can simply move downloaded maps to their multiplay folder and avoid excess downloads.

Programming Second Trigger Position on X52?
Kurtz replied to Mad Dog 7.62's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Just remap release weapons to a single unused key in the control, setup. You may need to create an unused key by clearing x or y. Other than that there are many view keys that can be cleared if required. After doing this you can map single key input using sst. -
Actually the bandwidth requirements are quite low from what ive seen so far at 2-5kbs per person, basically dialup foot print. The thing that will lag your server though is when new players join and the server uploads any custom content. So if your playing new mission id suggest players not take off until the upload is complete, or circulate the custom mission via Xfire pryor to take off. At this point though most custom missions are under 5mb and generally much less. eg: 3 players on my server today and data was going out at 10kbs Which is a much better outcome than EECH where choke = crash

Programming Second Trigger Position on X52?
Kurtz replied to Mad Dog 7.62's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
I use the first trigger as the Lock function[enter], and if i pull it in further the gun fires[space] using SST. Make sure there are no conflicting entries in the DCS control setup and clear them. -
Id look through all the ingame commands and remove anything that relates to your X52 except the Axis commands. I found the ingame auto mapping was of some keys was in conflict with the SST software, causing some wild shkval sweeping as well as some keys that would not function. Leave all the keyboard stuff in place as this is all your X52 is looking at. In my case the auto detect of the inputs had pitch and roll mapped to my pedals as well as my flightstick. In multiplay as well I found there is a bug where your X52pro wheel will suddenly start operating the zoom view rather than its scroll function. The problem was resolved by clearing the "Free Camera" Zoom View command. One other thing worth mentioning is that I tend to think the SST basic macro is bugged. I tend to used the "advanced command" for macro's when profiling so the key release is mapped. Basically what it boils down to is control input conflicts between your profile and the ingame control list. Browse the KA-50 REAL, KA-50 GAME, and FREE CAMERA, control list for conflicts. Hope this helps :)

After registering for the forum I searched the AEF sight for Blackshark and found very little except a review article? Is the DCS stuff in the locked member area? Its worth noting as well that the VAAF is also involved in DCS so there should be a healthy turn in the near future.

Ivan at SimHQ went to some effort to explain this here- http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/2645897/BS_Auto_Flight_Description_Ope.html#Post2645897

Ive been downloading some custom missions from this thread and ive noticed a few people are editing these custom missions for coop play. Ive edited some missions already but im pretty sure the triggers arnt all working, so i guess im doing something wrong. Ive been opening missions with the mission editor and deleting the original flight as it only allows me to add one client? 1. Can the original flight be left intact and 4 clients be added? After I delete the original flight I add 4 flights of one client and a set of waypoints. I guess this is the incorrect method. 2. Could somebody please give a brief step by step method of modding a singleplay mission to coop? Thx :)

Importing X52 profile ... how?
Kurtz replied to Madman777's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
The pr0 files are for use with the Saitek profiling software- Link- http://www.saitek.com/uk/down/drivers.php You'll need both the driver and the sst profiling software. -
Good luckwith that. I blew one off moving my russian install to my server PC when i purchased the english version. One left on the russian purchase. You'd probably do better posting in the "Payment and Activation" forum, although i never got a response.

multi monitor picture request !
Kurtz replied to hannibal's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
With "snapview 2" bound to my X52pro I can get 22" wide on ABRIS/SHKVAL with a button push. Its as simple as going into a hover or bleeding some speed and select route mode, or just coasting, then go heads down, Try it :) LWIN+NUM7 -
If you have a second redundant PC on LAN you can host a dedicated server on this PC. You can connect via LAN IP to the server, and others connect via the Internet at the same time. This offloads a lot of the CPU work to the server box, and your game input doesnt effect other players. The server although slow to load will run on a P4 3ghz, GFX quality not important.

Runs fine for me on Vista32 as well

Deadsmell has the correct answer I think. I also added a small dead zone via the DCs axis tune for the rotaries and it fixed the problem.

Is there a way to get close up of abris or shkval tv view?
Kurtz replied to zika1234's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
I split the throttle slider on my x52pro into two bands(70% +30%) then asigned snapview 2 to the last 30%. So i can just slide forward to view ABRIS and SHKVAL full screen on my 22" wide. While in this view I can still operate both ABRIS and SHKVAL systems. -
I think the whole Trim thing needs to be set as a realism option. Personally I like to fly full simulation, and am prepared to do the research and have put in the time to learn how to apply trim realistically ingame, but im finding a few of my regular multiplay friends are struggling with the trim, and its turning them off this game. Setting the game to simulation, but then turning on "easy flight" is not really an option as it neuters this heli too much toward arcade. Lets face it, anybody that isnt using pedals will be twisting there cyclic, while trying to hold down trim, input collective, and trying to pan and lock SHKVAL at the same time. If they dont have TrackIR as well, this is complicated even further. I think this is too much for most people to manage without a full HOTAS, Pedal, TrackIR combination. Personally I'd like to see a Trim option added to the "Simulation" options eg: 1. Realistic KA50 Trim 2. Standard Trim(Typically like what we have seen in LB and EECH series) This will allow more people to take on this excellant helicopter simulation. Im sure once most people become comfortable with the helicopter they could tackle the realistic trim later on. My thoughts anyhow :)

After purchasing the English version of BS, I decided to use my Russian version as a server on a second PC(P4) on my LAN. So I followed the de-activation procedure, correctly I believe, and removed the Russian installation from my main gaming PC(8200). Installed the English version without any problem on the 8200. Last night I installed the Russian version again on my P4 to see if it could cope with the CPU load enough to use as a server. Which it seems it can as it was only running at 30% CPU with just me connected. I was very pleased about that. But after activating the Russian version I noted that I only have one activation left? I thought through de-activation it was possible to install BS on a differant PC without smoking activations as long as you de-activate first? Could this be clarified as each time I upgrade hardware in my main gaming PC, I often move the hardware to my second PC that I use for a game server. Can the amount of activations be increased with the Russian version to equal the English version to offer a little breathing space? With the curent setup Ive got a fuse burning already on both my DCS:Blackshark purchases :noexpression: Any thoughts on this please?

Yeah thx for a great game DCS team. This is the best simulation ive seen since Janes Combat Sims left the building :)

Sweet :D , thats what i wanted to hear  Thx JaBo

On the multiplay topic, does the server determine whether clients are in simulation mode or arcade? or are simulated players and arcade players mixed ingame. There is going to be quite an imbalance if certain parameters in multiplay are not set by the server for all players.

I just cleared the Z and X keys and mapped trackir reset and on/off function to those keys. Save the trackir changes to a custom flight profile so you dont mess with any other flightsims you may be involved with. Most ppl use joystick twist or pedals for rudder, so those two keys are easy to free up.

I just picked up the English DL off the US servers in just under 40min to Australia using IDM. A few weeks ago I got the Russian DL at similar speed.
