  1. I tend to use it all the time with the exception of perhaps altitude hold. If im evading the enemy flying fast and close to the ground I may be holding the trim button down. Once im in the clear and stable I just release the trim button,and take a sip of my coffee or beer. The auto pilot and trim system in this game really need to be mastered, if you prefer just to fight the enemy and not the helicopter. If the trim is beating up on you then I'd suggest holding the trim on lift off, lean forward on your stick as you increase collective. Once you lift off and your level, release trim, and recentre your stick. Your heli is now trimmed for hover. Now even if you dont trim again inflight your heli will return to a stable hover as soon as you release the stick. Once in target area, release "route mode" and select "turn to target" and you wont be combating the auto pilot. My thoughts anyhow :)
  2. I think leaving the autopilot intact and assigning a joystick item to "flight director" is a better option. Auto pilot disengage will cause some wild flight.

  5. There are other arming options not availlable in those menu's Kuro. eg: KH-25ML is one of them

  8. Ok ive got a question regarding slaving the shkval to datalink selection. Once I locate a target or group of targets, I send them to memory, and rset my targeting system so I can forward to others. That part ive figured out. I have trouble though sometimes relocating the target ive sent to memory. The only clue being the flashing icon on my ABRIS if I reselect the target via Datalink. 1. How do I make the shkval camera slave to my datalink selection? so i can re-aquire with relative ease after saving targets to abris. 2. The issue ocurs for me if I send my wingman to recon ahead. He reports targets in which gives me the generally area on my abris, but I still have to search them out, rather than the shkval simply move to the selected target. I watched the old sensor producer note which says the camera can be slave to a target selection entered into the PIV800, but can it slave directly to abris target selected with datalink? thx :)

  11. Thanks guys thats all good info, and I have read pages 107-8 of the GUI manual. The thing I was trying figure is how to offer these weapons as an option from the ingame re-arming menu.

Can anybody tell me how to add missing weapon choices to the ingame ground support re-arming menu. eg: The KH-25ML misile and others are missing as well Also is there full availlable weapons chart/descriptions that we can print showing the various weapons combinations and there deployment type. eg: KH-25ML, laser etc I realise they are listed in the editor, but the ingame arming menu is incomplete I think, or am I missing something?
  13. Labels should only be availlable in "arcade mode". Appart from that, putting labels onto scripted AI is pretty lame. Locating the enemy before it locates you is a big part of this game.
  14. Firstly great missions UHOH7, they are much appreciated :) I have a question regarding re-arming with KH25ML in the mission Sukhumi2. At the start of the mission I am already armed with the KH25, but I have no option in the payloads screen to re-arm with this weapon should I miss first time out. How do you add the KH25ML to the payloads availlable via the ingame ground support re-arm menu?

Gaming networks generally run there server racks under Linux operating systems as they are more stable and there is plenty of software to allow them to offer relativly secure remote administration by the community. DCS doesnt run under Linux, something to do with WINE, what ever that is? or thats what ive read anyhow :huh:
  19. Remember to de-activate DCS first. Last week I added one ram chip to my system. Initially I put it in the wrong channel and after swapping things around a few times Starfish saw this as hardware changes and smoked one of my activations. One ram chip and zero other hardware changes = one activation :huh:
  20. Agree totally here. About two years ago I grew a little tired of foot soldiering mostly in DOD and then Red Orchestra. These days though although I still enjoy RO tanking now and then, im almost exclusivly flying. Anyway last year I loaded up ARMA1 patched and modded to ARMA Extreme thinking I might enjoy transporting troops, and flying CAS. So I configure my HOTAS/PEDALS/TIR and jumped in. To be honest it was fun flying but the flight dynamics were less than exceptable even compared to EECH1/2. Ultimatly though it was the lack of simple targeting systems that made it easy for me to drop the game and wait for ARMA2. I love flying DCS BS as a flight simulator but the scripted AI lets the sim down, often making community created missions a single fly then discard, as on the second flight we all know where the enemy is going to be and how it is going to react. Why is that nobody puts reasonable quality flight models into massive multiplay games. Are they just targeting teenagers, or is it just too much work? The recent emergence of variations of zombie kill type games make think 13-16yo is the target age group. that being said though I have friends in their 30-40's that enjoy zombie coop. Maybe im just out of touch with the mainstream community.
  21. The english release is only a few weeks away, I'd hold off and pre-order the English version. Ive read the English release is suppose a more complete package and im guessing will be patched already. Well the Steam DL should be anyhow.
  22. Ive got ARMA2 on pre order, and i was really hoping with this release there would be some active cockpit targeting systems, even if they are basic. Rather than ARMA1's arcade type. Has anything changed in this area? I just want to fly ED's KA50 over the ARMA2 Battlefield, is that too much to ask? ;) these two super powers need to create an alliance.

  24. Im running 2x22"w on an 8800GT utilizing the "phantom fix" under Vista32. Take a look at this thread- Link- http://www.vaaf.net/forum/index.php?topic=744.0 ps- im now running 3360x1050 without any probs except screenshots are bugged at the higher res. At 2560x800 everything was sweet other than i had to alter my desktop res to 1280x800 before flying.
