I was thinking about running split screen like in DCS and having the F10 map view and TVM screen on one side. Is this possible in FC2? eg: This is my DCS setup Link-

A10 - what does 'salvo mode' do?

Thought I'd bump this question. Does anybody know the usage and the signifigance of the HUD rectangle? -
Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
Kurtz replied to diecastbg's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Start work on the ground forces. Not nessessarily FPS foot soldiers like armour, but make the vehicles player controllable at a simulator level of FC2[not the detail of BS]. Imagine having human players controlling the tank columns, flanked by KA50, with fast air top cover. One active human tank commander with the ability to direct AI in his column, would give us reactive AI at a higher level than trying to code in an AI with brains. Fix up the AI Vote 1 next module = T80/Abrams -
If you have rotary's on your flight stick you can asign pitch and roll trim using "axis commands" to an axis, then use "axis tune" to set curve to a value around "30" or to taste. What type of flight stick do you use?

Excellant thanks Jim for the video links. Thats just what im looking for. Thanks to you Chibawang fitting that piece of the puzzle for me. Much appreciated gents :)

OK I think ive figured it out. My bombing altitude was too low so I could bring up the pible without lawn darting my A10. CCIP- 1. Activate ATG mode 2. Select Bombs 3. Approach altitude 10000' 4. AOA needs to be greater than 25deg to bring up the pible 5. Airbrake on during dive, zero out Throttle 6. Align and release 7. Airbrake off, power out of dive CCRP- 1. Activate ATG mode 2. Select Bombs 3. Level approach 4. Lock target 5. Activate CCRP mode 6. Align and release[my bombs release as soon as i push button? I thought the release was supposed to be delayed and autorelease?] Could sombody comment if this is all correct?

Im a bit of a fied wing noob having spent most of my simming years in rotor sims. Anyway over the last week ive been profiling for the A10 in FC2 and im having trouble getting bombs on target. Could somebody direct me to a hi-res cockpit view video demonstating CCIP and/or CCRP boming. Im particularly interested in seeing the HUD symbology in action during a bombing run in both modes. eg: release ques etc. Im also interested in recommended AOA and speed during CCIP? and recommended altitude plus speed during a CCRP bombing run? thanks :) ps- ive watched the youtube stuff at Lockon.uk

SIM-MOD A-10A, Gys/Valery F-15C, 3GO Su-27 Joint Pack v1.5
Kurtz replied to Viper101's topic in DCS Modding
With FC2 and BS soon to merge, the helicopters are very important to many of us. Ive unistalled your mod for now, and look forward to your next release. Your efforts are much appreciated anyhow :) -

Nice one, thanks Viper :) -
Nice work Goldfinger. One question though. Will these mods be accepted during multiplay, or seen as an exploit by game software?

There are Ricardos HD pits for Red Force. Link- http://www.lockonfiles.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=476 This A10 pit may work, but I think I'll wait for Skypat to update Modman first. Opinions, Get FC2 or Wait Until DCS A-10C?
Kurtz replied to WindWpn's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Thats why purchased FC2. It gives me a little bit of a head start so hopfully the learning curve when DCS A10 is released wont be as steep as DCS BS was. Being a fixed wing noob as well Ive already learnt the A10 in FC2 has no radar, only has live TVM link when MAV is availlable, and also learnt that undetected attack helicopters will shoot me down quite readily(good news for the BS pilots). The other reason I purchased FC2 is because that a quality multiplay environment will require all three sims for the best outcome. BS/FC2/A10 will rock online with realistic missions. -
Excellant, thanks Evil :)
-
OK thanks Evil. One thing though im still not sure about regards point 3. You say the installations are or will be merged. Currently I have a separate root folder for BS called KA50. I noticed there is a BS folder within FC2. Should I migrate my BS folder and merge in the FC2 install. How are the installs merged? Should I just have common Eagle Dynamics folder or something? Or will the BS patch merge the installations for owners of both BS and FC2?
-
I wasnt sure where to post this as I guess the two sims are merged to a certain degree. 1. OK I puchased FC2(EU) and attempted install where FC2 requested my LockOn installation. I then re-installed a clean Lockon installation, following which FC2 installed without issue into a new folder, no probs. Can I now uninstall the redundant? Lockon folder? 2. I had a look at the multiplay server list and noted there are no Blackshark servers. Are we waiting on a BS patch? 3. I assumed Lockon, FC2, and BS would merge into one install. I guess that is incorrect? 4. Modman requires updating to support FC2 I guess? 5. Can Richardo's Pits be installed to FC2, or is the pit quality of Richardo's allready there in FC2? 6. Im guessing FC2 and BS meet up at the server browser. So if I were to fly BS on a FC2 server would I launch BS and join a server having only Sharkpits availlable? or Launch FC2 having only fixed wing availlable? or is the Multiplayer GUI common and depending on aircraft choice once joining a server the game would launch either BS or FC2? Excuse me if this has been said before as I havnt been trawling forums as much as I used to of late :)

I think a Hind simulator would be more suited to ARMA2 rather than the DCS series. The AI in DCS is mostly static, so attacking it with a HIND would probably get old fast. I also noted when flying ARNEH's excellant HIND pit in EECH that its pretty much a sitting duck, ill equipt to deal with SAM defenses. EECH though offers a greater variety of mission types more suited to the HIND. My thoughts anyhow :) ps- Dont get me wrong though, as i would like to see a DCS HIND, as well as an ApacheD, Kiowa, KA52, Blackhawk, and Chinook, plus a dynamic campaign engine to fuel mutliplay :)

Would you seems pay for commercial add ons?
Kurtz replied to BKLronin's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
I think most ppl that are interested in multiplay would pay for a 3rd party dynamic campaign engine the likes of EECH. Another point worth noting is that DCS lacks an immersion factor because there is no live radio comms. For example in LB2 there was no dynamic campaign but there was usually if I remember correctly up to 4 choices when joining a mission. Regardless of which mission you selected the others would also progress and offer live comms feed. I use the "radio chatter" mod to compensate for this a little, but its not ideal. With the current systems and custom missions to date generally all helicopters tend to have the same objective, and generally its an attrition mission involving static targets. So im all for dynamic campaigns with a constant comms feed or radio chatter. -
Just do what you did when you were married to her, drink beer, stare straight ahead, and ignore her. Thats how I dealt with the first one anyhow ;)

Combat Heli sims are complex which makes them less attractive to the run of mill sim community. The public multiplay community tends to be quite small, but that being said its not that hard to organise regular flights if you put a few things in place. 1. Establish a point of contact eg: Xfire, MSN etc 2. Frequent a comms server. Multiplay is crap without comms. So install Teamspeak, or Ventrillo. These two points allow squadrons to function, as well as pub players. I flew EECH and EECH2 multiplay for two years on a regular basis with a small community that consisted of 2 Australians, 1 German, 2 Americans, 1 Englishman. We just had a point of contact and common comms server. In our case we utilized the SimHQ TS server and Xfire. DCS multiplay took a hit as well when it was patched. Servers were common, and in my case I had nearly 80 multiplay missions availlable. These missions become redundant, or required debugging due to trigger change in patch. This I imagined drained the enthusiasm from many mission builders, due to the amount of time involved in building missions that became patch redundant. All is not lost though, as If you can find yourself a regular fly buddy, its not that hard creating multiplay content by a simple edit to convert campaign missions in to 2-4 slot multiplay giving you 100+ mission content. My personal view though is that this game needs a dynamic campaign engine the likes of EECH/Falcon in order to give it any multiplay longivity. Quality mission building is obviously too laborious, otherwise with a simulator of this outstanding quality we would be flooded with content.

Doesnt work ingame under Vista. Its a known unresolved problem documented by Xfire devs.

Communicating with the ground crew while 'hot'
Kurtz replied to Doc. Caliban's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Might be worth noting if the farp is busted in some way due to attack it may not be functional. Sometimes in multiplay some peeps get their jollies blowing up neutral targets. -
i would like to run black shark at (2x) 1680x1050 top and bottom...
