  1. Ok thanks MBot, overall it wasnt a bad trainer mission I thought. After locating the smoke marker I used the arc to correct my heading and laser to range target from smoke. Which allowed us to get rockets on target. To bad there wasnt any active manpads to keep us on our toes. The mission needed a little more fireworks thats all. Thanks for posting anyhow, as we enjoyed the talk in to target and the overall mission concept was great.
  2. I flew this last night in multiplay and quite enjoyed the lead in comms to target. After that though I found that the AI never reacted to threat and was wondering if that is correct or perhaps I missed a trigger or something?
  3. If you want to keep it simple and just down to common sense and no checklist- 1. You need power(battery) 2. You need fuel 3. you need APU to start main engines *Note- if your APU doesnt fire look at 1&2 4. Rotor brake OFF 5. Select and crank engine 1 *Note- if it doesnt start look at 2&3 6. Select and crank engine 2 *Note- if it fails to fire look at 2 7. After idle up completes hit PageUp twice to bring engines up to speed 8. Turn Generators ON(You need power) 9. While your engines are running up you can browse pit and enable systems. *Note- some systems wont fire until generators are live.
  4. I wouldnt say we are suffering, Im actually sitting here drinking a beer. If I were trully suffering I guess I'd have no beer and be watching somebody else drinking one. So im guessing thats what your feeling, and the real reason why you wont release the mission pack. We have beer and you dont ;) Come on Dragon, we all know Germans like beer. So why not share that pack like a long cold glass of pale ale
  5. Nice work Wombat. I should have remembered that from my install last year. Im a little lost why the FF option is not located in the gameplay options GUI, and also lost why FF is default true. I also noted last night with the new trim system if I didnt remember to recentre my pedals simaltaneously with my X52 I would lose cyclic control until trim reset. If both devices are recentred after trim input things work fine.
  6. I can seem to DL this from Skydrive? anyone else having trouble?
  7. Try the "trimmer reset". Also I did find that with the new trimmer system it was very important to recentre both cyclic + pedals after trim input otherwise cyclic control can be lost until trimmer is reset.
  8. Thanks Dragon, ive been sweating on this mod returning :)
  9. In the past the nose wheel was always at port/starboard before taxi. A little bit of cyclic input corrected this, but Ive noticed now that if i stop forward movement the nose wheel resets to port starboard and blocks forward movement. Has anybody else noticed this?
  10. I considered myself quite competant with the old trim system, im having a pretty wild ride now. The new trim system is turned off. Ive noticed that the trim click sound does not respond to input at times. I dont think the old trim system is still current. Perhaps theres some cpu lag or something? ps- X52pro user as well.
  11. Looks great Dragon, im really looking forward to having another crack at NightHawk :) ps- Whats the ETA on the German patch? I thought the recent patch was an international type thing?
  12. Yes that is correct Nate, its all sorted now. Thanks to those that inputed.
  13. Ok I seem to have got past most my problems after applying v101a to my Russian Online version. One annoyance still persists. If I go into the options>gameplay menu and set my game to English, the GUI remains in Russian? Its a clean install on WINXP Pro. any help appreciated :)
  14. When DCS was released many of us purchased the Russian version, then followed up by purchasing the English version. The Russian build is what a lot of people used on their server box, and its the Russian version that has been belted so hard world wide by the "region" copyright introduced by the patch. Once the patch was applied to the Russian build many people including myself who does not live in Russia, had their Russian build de-activated, hence less servers. ps- I guess a few PR8's got hit as well, maybe.
  15. Looks like theres more sound files 243(new default) vs 224(BFXhi). I hope somebody can have a look at this as my two must have mods are- BattlefieldFX and Sharpitv2.2 and both need work i think. I had forgotten how bland the default pit is.
  16. I tend to leave externals on for allies as well. Its not so much for my flying, although sometimes ill review my battle damage to my heli now and then. I find that on our server we often get people that just like to spectate the battle. Sometimes it relaxing sitting around with a coffee or beer watching the battle play out. If it was a clan match or something they would have to be off, but other than that it just adds to the fun :)
  17. Another rego lost at my end with my Russian install as follows- OK I did clean installs on both my PC's. The english install and patching went fine without any problem. The Russian install though that I use on my server PC failed to run. I read some stuff here and changed my region format to russian, which allowed me to get past the initial error, but now I dont get english menus any more, and when I tried to test loading with instant action mission I was directed to the CD key entry page, so i guess the change of format smoked another activation? Currently DCS reports my Russian key as invalid? My English install never asked for CD key on re-install, and my Russian one did not either until I changed to format. I think this "format" or region issue could be resolved, by an option of ED sending legit RUS ver owners an English key, or a Hotfix patch plus restoration of existing key.
  18. Ok heres some pics- 1. GUI with display setting in correct position RS is primary. 2. Screenshot incorrectly reports GUI correctly with display setting LS as primary 3. This is what I see. The cockpit is split in a similar fashion. My configs are tried and proven. I can post them if you like. This is the first issue ive had a problem with multimonitor. ps- Phantom fix is inactive. I thought it was redundant with this patch? ***EDIT*** Ok Phantomfix is still required. All working now :)
  19. OK the patch has fixed the phantom monitor issue. How ever it has added another problem. In my multimonitor setup I have 2x 22"w LCD. My primary is on the right hand side. When I launch DCS I get the left side of the GUI on my right monitor and nothing on the left. If I reverse my monitors in the display settings I get both halves of the GUI but the centre of the GUI is on the far right of my RS monitor, and the far left of my LS monitor. Hmm I dont think I can fly like that, any ideas? :)
  20. OK I did clean installs on both my PC's. Current DCS reports my Russian key as invalid? My English install never asked for CD key on re-install, and my Russian one did not either until I changed to format. Any thoughts on this guys?
  21. The Whiplash, or doubling effect is only there if you dont recentre both cyclic and rudder after trim input. Im quite used to it now using an X52pro and Saitek Pedals. The patch contains a varied trim option though if I read correctly for those who cant come to terms with the current build. Ideally there would be a reasonable quality FFB stick on the market for flying this game, but there is not, nor is there FFB pedals. Its still a first class sim regardless :)
  22. To be honest here, I tend to gather most missions up, and edit text to english so clients know what the mission objectives and trigger messages are saying. I also edit the mission for ramp start if its not already done. With single play missions, if I think they are wothy I'll edit them for 4 slot multiplay as many of them are great trainers with four slots. Other than that my missions are as offered by the community. I know this is common practice as when my server is live I get many connects that simply join and exit after a minute or so, and I know they are just mission hunters that are looking for content, either to promote there own server, or because the ping to mine from Europe is prohibitive. I dont see any problem with this, as I think the more servers the better for this game. Guilty as charged if this is a crime. The sheer lack of content for multiplay brought about by ED's decision not to deploy a dynamic campaign engine leaves this game with a constent hunger for new content. If it wasnt for the great work a few of you guys do in building missions I'd say this game would be dead in water inside twelve months. If there is something wrong with this please comment :joystick:
  23. Yeah no worries Bumfire, your welcome :) **please note correct to file name at step 3 "WorldTexturesBMP3.cdds"**
