  1. OK heres a very simple 7 step method of replacing the default skin without replacing any files- 1. DL and install MODman 2. Open the "CDDS Explorer" from within the MODman GUI.(do not use CDDS shortcut) 3. Locate "WorldTexturesBMP3.cdds" from within C:\Ka-50\Bazar\World 4. Extract the following files- KA-50-PAINT1-DEF-01.BMP, KA-50-PAINT1-DEF-02.BMP, KA-50-PAINT1-DEF-04.BMP, KA-50-PAINT1-DEF-06.BMP 5. Edit the skin to your liking using a paint programme of your choice. I use "Paint Shop Pro" for this utilizing the "change to target" brush. 6. When finished DO NOT repack files into CDDS. 7. Copy them into your C:\Ka-50\Bazar\TempTextures 8. Your Done :) To roll back to default, just remove your files from the temptextures folder. Note- You can do the same for any of the other default paints as well if you like. This method also works in multiplay, but only the user will see modded paint. Heres a pic of the default I varied into an Australian theme. Please excuse my paint skills as they are not as polished as others within this community.
  2. This topic passes through the forum every now and then. The reason that ppl arnt responding is that unrealistic loadouts can be used as an exploit in multiplay, that we have no control over. If players enter my server as well as many others using exploits they run the risk of being banned. Im hoping you are seeking this exploit for use in single play only. If you do some searching you will find the person who has the answer. Perhaps they will PM you the info you are looking for. Hopfully they wont post it in the public forum.
  3. "bump" anybody figured out how to remove or edit this item?
  4. Change log? BTW we ran NightHawkHunter a few nights ago on our server. Well done very nice work, thx :)
  5. Look in your temp folder after joining a server and you will have a new date stamped miz file. Most of the guys running servers tend to run missions without custom audio which keeps the DL size under 1mb so would not really notice the DL, but its there.
  6. Custom missions, I meant :)
  7. I was hoping to see in the v1.0.1 readme something about not having to DL maps ingame if you already had them installed, or did I miss that? If its not there Im guessing custom maps will still be a choke point in multiplay, and custom audio is still a no go ?
  8. I figure theres a few RC pilots here, so I thought you guys might enjoy this link. It features an RC Hind which can only be described as an insane toy. Check it out - http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=85a_1246854193 The link contains very little info on the actual RC spec. Do any of you guys know anything more about this RC helicopter. Dimensions, engine spec etc?
  9. Multiplay requirements- 1. Dedicated server for Linux so the game can be supported by gaming networks 2. Dynamic campaign system such as EECH, so longivity is not totally reliant on a small group of mission editors 3. Blue force helicopter 4. Functional IFF
  10. The default texture used in multiplay located in WorldTexturesBMP3.cdds has no tail logo, or underbelly logo. It is applied later. Check out your skin added as "paint1" for use in multiplay. It is this star that i want to replace with other country logo's, or just remove so it doesnt mess up excellent skins like yours, but I can find it anywhere? any help appreciated :)
  11. Beautiful work Tim :) One question- ive been trying to find out how to replace the Russian Star on the default skin for my own country. I mostly play in multiplay so the default skin is what we see. Do you know where the star is located?
  12. Cant you just install into a differant directory or pc without activating the product. Then just retrieve the lost files?
  13. Could somebody tell me where to edit the Ruissian Star? I want to change this graphic to my own country for use in multiplay. I dont want to change each map in editor to custom skin. What I want to do is if I choose Red Force, my own emblem is displayed on the default skin. Any help appreciated :)
  14. ok turning the hud off does nothing to improve forward view with NVG. It must relate to the glass texture I think. Does anybody know where to find the forward(are they blast shields) glass texture?
  15. But even if you turn down the hud brightness until the symbology goes off, the "reflection" is still there. Is it possible to turn the hud off when flying at night and just use other cockpit instruments to navigate, and target via shkval? I'd like to be able to see whats in front of me.
  16. When I fly at night the only place I cant see is at my 12 oclock because of the hud shader(the pear shaped shader that the data is displayed on). I find my self leaning to the left or right so as to have a clear view of whats up front. I know you can adjust the brightness of the hud data. Thats not the problem. Its the static I see at 12oclock through the NVG. In EECH you could adjust the shader density, or even turn it off. Does anyone know where to edit this in DCS?
  17. Hey guys Could you take the time to register at www.gamespace.net.au and comment, or at the very least vote in this poll. Link- http://forums.gamespace.net.au/showthread.php?t=22464 I'd like to get an OZ DCS BlackShark server started so we have a home server. Pushing this server will also lay the groundwork for an OZ DCS-A10 server next year. So please vote. regards Bravo46 ps- Off shore players are welcome to vote as well. Having a DCS server live on a professional gaming network will benefit all multiplay pilots. The bandwidth availlable via a gaming network would make it very accessable worldwide.
  18. Ok thanks guys for your input :)
  19. Im looking into getting a DCS server live on a remote server rack. One thing I would require though is to be able to restart the server on a default map from a remote location should the server crash at some point. Can this be done via command line? eg: C:\Ka-50\bin\stable\DCS.exe -map airassault.miz or something like that? If this can be done, then Acedy's ServerMan could take over from there. any thoughts, or help appreciated :)
  20. I couldnt get this to work via modman, and when I looked at the tga they just looked blank? Could you upload your working zip to filefront or rapid etc please.
  21. Cant you just tune the DCS AXIS command in the config?
  22. I just want a force feed option for my "buck rogers" style x52pro ;)
  23. Look at the mission file size as JG14 says. Anything beyond 2mb is not really suitable for multiplay. Beyond 2mb players often assume game has locked up. Also despite both of you having the mission installed, when your friend joins he will still DL the map into his temp folder. This is problem with the game that I hope will be resolved when patched. Generally for multiplay maps on my server I edit out the custom audio in order to reduce file size. You can monitor your upload to your friend by opening the task manager and checking the network tracffic.
