  1. I have owned trakir for 13 or more years and I love it I got a rift last summer and returned it after about 10 days, it great for 3D effect but not so great at spotting targets (ground and air), I will wait for next generation
  2. This has rendered, for me at least several modules unflyable worst is Mig-15
  3. has not effected me at all, latest pic of me below
  4. Most motherboards have a built in sound device By default server versions of windows do NOT install drivers for the audio device By default windows server versions have the Windows audio service set to disabled Last year sometime one of the DCS patches keep causing issues unless there was an audio device working on the host PC, so I enabled mine and it stopped having issues
  5. I have had issues in the past with buying exactly the same make/model of RAM and trying to increase my RAM, luckily you folks seem to be getting away with it
  6. Best guess same reason why I still use 7, I want some control over my PC The amount of trees on the road sides is pretty good
  7. Lol at Kang, good one A macro programmed onto a joystick would do this with a single press
  8. Thanks for taking the time to reply, server versions of windows by default do not have the audio service running, windows 8.1 as you have confirmed does have it on
  9. ah, ok On your server PC Bottom right hand corner, is there a volume control icon ? (note it might be hidden)
  10. I don't think multiple use is the answer .... but As ED no longer use starforce ....... They could could bind a map to your server account login and DISABLE being to pick any slots so only server hosters could really use it Server stats total 148 Caucasus 128 - 86.48% Neveda 15 - 10.13% Normandy 5 - 3.79% See a pattern here ?
  11. Was meaning a sound device, not a sound card The problem was not crashing but terrible d-sync on the server Which OS are you using on your server ?
  12. Damn shame RIP, taught me some very colourful wear words
  13. +1, money would be better spent else where
  14. So with this new information @Wags , does this mean that starforce does not check your modules to see if they are valid anymore when DCS starts up anymore ? or Does starforce still do this and now we have an extra check inplace ?
  15. It is based in EU
  16. Good luck mate, but before you try and over clock take a backup of your OS drive incase something goes wrong (acronis is great for this)
  17. nothing to see here since thread was moved and merged
  18. any chance of a thread title change, since this is now for all modules not just the AV-8B?
  19. So ED pretty much went ahead and enabled the 3 day limit on 2.5 ? For EVERYTHING ?
  20. I too noticed this and was wondering about offline mode .....
  21. +1 this Except the memory bit , even with a lot of people 25+ connected memory is not an issue (8-12G on average) , my mission uses all aircraft in the sim and uses MOOSE features Havoc Server - hosts up to 30 people 3.4Ghz Xeon 32G RAM 64 Server OS 1GB Network IP 4 Only NO MODS I will echo what Drexx has said, I see a LOT of people connecting .... for ages then the poor buggers get disconnected before fully getting to the server. NOTE: I added which protocol(s) the network card on the server is configured for
  22. Is a sound device enabled on this system ? For some weird reason that appeared in 1.5.8 a sound device HAS to be on the hosting PC or things start to go terrible wrong. Why a sound device is needed is beyond me??????
  23. post a link to file here , see if i can help u
  24. my mi8 tracks are currently useless, like I fly into mountains after 15 mins even though I did not when flying the track
  25. not really, you can have as many keyboards as you want plugged in but they will have the same keyboard layout (assuming you buy same type) unless you buy one of those fancy programmable ones
