  1. Make a mission where you send a bunch of f18s to land at the carrier. When the deck parking spaces are full, they go down the elevator.
  2. One workaround is to park statics on the forward elevator. Then after deck parking is full, the AI disappear right after trapping. But it would be cool if I didn't have to do that of course.
  3. I have a mission were I have a bunch on inbound F-18s landing on Stennis while I practice my landings. After the deck parking is full, they start going down the forward elevator and parking inside. That is really cool, but when they park below the deck, they are appearing ON the deck, right in the path of landing aircraft.
  4. Can anyone from DCS explain how these are integrated now? Can you use the physical HOTAS and then push buttons and flip switches in VR?
  5. My cut passes are always due to dropping at the ramp. If you are cutting the throttle at the ramp or pushing the stick forward to nose down, you will probably get a cut pass. From what I read, doing either of these in real life is a huge no no for carrier pilots.
  6. I also leave the elevators and cats clear for AI spawning. But have planes and crew everywhere else. I'm just glad the AI can go through the statics without colliding or I would have to have a bare deck!
  7. The loadouts are task specific, so if you saved one under CAP in mission editor, it will only show up if the plane has CAP for example, will not show up under Intercept or CAS etc.
  8. I agree on this, even if its a "FC3" non realistic fix. IFF should be a top priority on the F/A-18 even if an unrealistic solution is required for a while.
  9. Thanks, this is a great addition. Without these guys troops that are air transported get wiped out by vehicles quickly.
  10. When I add the line, I do get the menu item but my wingman always says Negitive or Unable. Even when he is bingo fuel, full fuel, doesn't matter. I tried it when we are right at a tanker and no go. Does this work for others?
  11. That was interesting to see. I like the song, but music on videos like this ruin it.
  12. This is a real disappointment. I never considered downloading these videos because someone would threaten OP with an investigation. Of course, in war the DF-26 missile would not care about routine launch and recovery operation "secrets". I worked with defense people for many years and it is easy to get paranoid in the industry, thinking that every piece of info can be used by the enemy to inflict damage. But most of the time, like in this case, it was paranoia and people trying to exert power.
  13. Me too. I thought I was doing something wrong and was seeking answers looking through tutorial videos but must be a bug. I am more and more impressed with this plane as systems get added. The HACQ ability is amazing.
  14. You may consider the lower cost i7-9700k since dcs is single threaded. It runs very well on it with my RTX2080ti in VR.
  15. This is very impressive. I really like that it self adjusts when the carrier changes direction and that it is super easy to add to existing missions.
  16. I will PM you AA. It was fun and good practice going 1v1 with someone last night, the hour went by quick.
  17. After playing online for the past few weeks I need to practice my BFM/BVR skills versus real people not just AI. I have a couple missions for 1v1 on my server in various loadouts (based on the DDCS server restrictions) and 2vAI for coordination against enemy using moose script for AI generation. While I am learning everytime online, my missions have in air restart and closer start positions with unlimited lives, so we can get alot more practice in a shorter time to hone skills. I only fly the F18, but want to practice against all fighter types, including other F18s. If interested let me know and we can arrange a time and I can give you my server info plus SRS info so we can communicate during the session.
  18. Lots of used 1080ti's on ebay also. I just sold mine there.
  19. Wow, that was a long post, but thanks for the detail Headwarp. My system: Oculus Rift, i7-8700K overclocked to 5.1GHz, 32gb ram, 960 Samsung SSD. It may be a voltage thing, I don't know. I have tried the other things you mentioned though. I only run DCS, no virus protection or other programs except for SRS and discord for multiplayer comms and of course Rift. I find it interesting that intel's new i7 chip 9700k has no HT. Too bad none of the benchmark reviews include DCS.
  20. I have both and much prefer the Rift. I agree the Odyssey does look better, but it is not comfortable, has poor sound vs Rift and a small sweet spot to get the resolution perfect. Also, when moving quickly like a quick roll or dogfight, the Odyssey is blurry (double vision thing) while the Rift is more smooth. I guess that is the ASW on Rift working better than Odyssey's solution.
  21. Headwarp, I'm not a technical person, but I was/am using Process Lasso and set DCS to the porformance setting. But when I turned HT off in the bios, I noticed a clear improvement as mentioned in my post above. So HT must be doing something else to slow DCS or the graphics card even with process lasso having DCS in the single core performance setting.
  22. Based on this thread, I decided to try turning HT off. My 3DMark Time Spy score fell, due to the CPU score being 30% lower, but the 2 graphics scores were the same. I play in VR with Rift. Now the neat part was in DCS, my frame rates seem to be the same, but gameplay is smoother for sure. There is less of the double vision when I change direction quickly (frame rate stays at 45 as before though). But the benefit is most evident when I am dogfighting. Before when doing the instant action PG guns only BFM, when I am close to the mig and we are maneuvering aggressively, it has the double vision thing. But now it is solid, totally smooth, the mig image does not studder. If you try turning HT off, try doing the guns only Instant action first, then do it after turning HT off and see if there is a difference. Maybe this is only a VR benefit. My system: i7-8700K with RTX2080ti, 32gb ram, 960 SSD.
  23. Also, probably common knowledge, but when I tested each setting I found that the biggest hit to framerate was the view distance, shadows and of course MSAA.
  24. I tested using my settings as above (VR pd 1.2, MSAAx2, AAx16 and both textures on low, view distance high, no shadows, trees 80%, clutter about half) on the Instant Action Free Flight Caucasus mission and got 90 at all times, even low and doing barrel rolls and tight turns low. However as I got closer to Senaki where ED put alot of statics at the airport in that mission, I hit some brief 45s. The CPU does have a big impact. On my larger missions, even if I use the stock LOW graphic settings, I still don't get higher than 45 even when I am not near any AI.
