  1. Amazing thread ! So much knowledge in here. Thank you for taking the time to share it with the community.
  2. That does not look like a flight simulator ! :) The graphics are really good.
  3. Keep us posted on how you enjoy it and if you find anything broken in the campaign after the switch to 2.5 I remember the night mission in which you need to intercept a drone, with the help of an awacs. Somehow the awacs is not available and the drone very hard to find without that.
  4. Fantastic execution ! That game (starting with Flanker 1) were really ahead of their time. The Su-27 is such a beautiful aircraft. I would love a pro module of it.
  5. It would be so good to have a Fox3 on the Su-27 ! The original Flanker game had such a wide array of weapons that made it really a multi role fighter, which is fun even if unrealistic. F/A-Su-27 :)
  6. Yes because if behind your target your radar sees ground clutter, a « simple » notch will break the lock. If your target is above you there won’t be ground clutter behind your target and he won’t be able to trick your radar into filtering him out.
  7. The FC3 aircrafts do not have a clickable cockpit. The mouse is useless in those besides moving the view.
  8. Perfect. Thanks for the clarification :)
  9. Do you know the typical burn through distance of the F-15 radar when using ECM on the Su-27 ? Can they launch a missile on HOJ in DCS?
  10. Yes it is the same in the Su-27. Because of the AoA when landing, the pilot looks to the left to see his height since the runway straight ahead is masked by the plane’s nose / EOS. There is a big thread in the Su-27 sub forum.
  11. That makes sense. Thank you for that. Still learning a lot before jumping in a full fidelity module :)
  12. Thanks for your feedback. That makes that I do not use ECM at all.
  13. AI still uses that technique though. In the real aircraft can you keep it "warm" without strobing ?
  14. OK thanks for your input. I wanted to control it with a script. Button pressed = ECM on, as soon as I let go of the button = ECM off. It frustrates me when my radar loses lock on an F-15 because he strobes his ECM for a couple of seconds. Trying to keep it in TWS as long as I can, but it switches to STT when close enough automatically. Frustrating :)
  15. Hello Everyone - Quick question about the ECM in the Flanker. When you turn it on, it needs to warm up. The status LED is blinking while that is happening. Is it strobing during warm up or not ? I was wondering if it would be a good feature to map to the HOTAS for quick on / off strobing if someone locks me on their radar, like the F-15/16 do in order to break the lock. If I need to wait for it to warm up every time, it kind of defeats the purpose of what I want to do. What I would like to do : I detect an STT lock on me -> beam to one side + ECM strobe = break the lock if far away enough. Turn off ECM quickly in order to "disappear". Thanks :)
  16. That sounds dangerous, and would result in a lot of friendly kills if not used very wisely. I don't think there is an IFF function in the AIM-120's radar.
  17. I believe those are the landing lights, and are like that on the real aircraft. When you approach with 10° AoA, they then give your more distance. I might be wrong though.
  18. That looks great ! Thanks for sharing :)
  19. I get the same. When you start the mission the briefing is in English though.
  20. 1 - 700 - 800 km/h IAS for optimal corner speed 2 - No idea, but noticed that too 3 - 9° - 10° is optimal. It usually means 270 - 300 km/h depending on the loadout.
  21. Just saw a video on Youtube sharing this radar training tool : https://tawdcs.org/radar-f15/ Not sure if this is a repost, thought it was pretty cool :)
  22. Watched the video without the sound at work :)
  23. The Su-27 does not have the canards, just the Su-33.
  24. Well, in that video, when he tries to bomb at the "X" of the two runways, the bomb misses by a big margin, which is what OP is describing.
  25. I just have experience with the Su-27, but CCIP is much more precise than CCRP. I would always miss targets using CCRP, and hit them using CCIP.
