This one is complete. I've completely redone the Aluminum skin spec files.
-
All of the -B paints work for the -A. So if they're already out there they just need to.be placed into the A mod livery folder.
-
...Posted this on Reddit a while back. Lots of opinions...lol. It will remain as is. This is totally bonkers for fun. By an Iron Man fan. For Iron man fans. Enjoy.

What are the chances that we could get the P-47 Pilot put into the Mustang? The current WWII pilot is extremely lack luster, to put it mildly. Thanks for the consideration.

resolved Aileron behavior and effectiveness
==Wiggy== replied to Reflected's topic in Bugs and Problems
I flew the Sabre last night in PvP group session and noted that .94 is where the stiffness starts and .95 they are basically locked up, with potential to move in one direction only as reported by Reflected. So I guess what I'm saying is, confirmed, it's still a thing. -
Thanks guys. Yes available now. My stuff always seems to.be relegated to a mass upload and never makes it on the "front page" of new files. So it's there but you'll have to search! Sorry about that. Took almost 48 hours to approve these....

Fictional Liveries for the F-14A. The -A IOC was only a few years contemporary to the MiG shoot downs of VF-96. I thought it would be neat to see these in some Phantom style colors and markings with Tomcat flair. These are uploaded already. Should be available soon.

They're both ready now... VF-96 what if and VF-124 What if.

Nope it does not. I don't understand why this is used, and why standard auto generated Mip maps are not sufficient...anyway...that's neither here nor there. It is what it is. So, you must use it. Open every single .dds file and resize them all to 512x512 then copy/paste them into the corresponding locations on the 3in1 file. Be sure to do this exactly or you will notice weird texture tweaking while rejoining in formation or zooming out and into the jets from a distance. Even 1 pixel off is not good enough.

Your problem is different than the one referenced above. When you get there "missing texture" green texture it's because one of 3 things is happening: 1. If there is a "true" statement at the end of the string for the callout in the description.lua -then you're physically missing the base texture being called out. (Not likely). 2. The texture name in the description.lua is different than the one in your texture folder. (Likely). 3. If the statement "false" at the end of string - then you're physically missing the texture in your specific livery folder. (Likely). If you didn't edit the 3 in 1 LOD file then once you solve the above problem, you'll still need to edit that file in order to not run into the linked issue from above. Hope that helps.

Yes. it was originally released before it was complete. I've since learned a thing or 3 working with the tomcat paint kit and I'm remaking/updating it.
-
NM...I looked at that post. That is from the 3 in one LOD file. is my guess. It's not been updated, or it came out of alignment. YOU, could technically fix it. Just open up every single texture that is in the folder and resize them all to and then fit them overtop of the locations for each texture. It's time consuming. I hear there is a tool that will to it automatically for you....not sure who made it or where to get it....I've never used it. It is an "easy" fix as fixes go. As long as STRUT can pull up specific paints in his paint kit correctly....or you can simply use the method described above by using the .dds file and dragging them into PS as a new layer, resized and then snapping them overtop of the old textures.

So, question....it's been brought to my attention that perhaps I misunderstood. The Submissions thread only -- is that just for screenshots? Or...where/how am I supposed to upload the finished product? We don't really want to submit them in the open thread just right there?

Who's the original Author? There are many "artists" here who know the author's of other works, as people seek help from the community many times. Might help to get a name out there.

Heatblur Livery Competition - SUBMISSIONS ONLY!
==Wiggy== replied to IronMike's topic in Heatblur Simulations
Here is my Offering. As they say "The Best Is Yet To Come!" So, I imagine that if I start it off, there will be some real beauties presented hereafter! This is a mash up of a VF-124 with some artististic license on my end (Eagle head and wings) and slightly larger tail flash for good measure. Custom Helmets and my favorite part of the whole thing (go figure...the little square velcro patch on the pilot helmet). I used the Stock HB Paint Kit and a paint made by "Yae Sakura" from DCS LAG to create this. -
WIP. Will included new pilot and helmets, tanks etc. I'll make the real bird as well. Messing around with a velcro patch I saw on an image of this helmet. Don't mind the flight suit, the standard green will be used all over. This nose paint is inspired from a fire fighting F-14 practice bird, but is mated with an early VF-124 paint scheme. The wings are additional artistic license from me. I will create this actual historical bird as well, since it's 90% complete with this paint.

I haven't worked on it in a while. At the time I wasn't liking the look of the wings. I'll have to revisit this.

DCS: F-14 Development Update - Enter the -A!
==Wiggy== replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I big thank you to the Cobra and the Heatblur team! thanks to the SME's for helping to perfect this product. Very exciting news. Keep up the great work! -
Peace.. I think you're interpreting friendly sense of humor as something else. There are in fact nice people out there. :) As far the the lag goes, CAT I and CAT III appear to be modeled differently. CAT III IRL, should limit AoA (among other things). Right now it seems like it's changing control input response as well as limiting AoA. So, if the issue is with CAT III response, then that is another problem which is also there. All I'm saying is that I've found a balance with a mechanical stick. So when they address it, it will be good thing.
