reported Trim with slip indicator always nose left?
MstrCmdr replied to MstrCmdr's topic in Bugs and Problems
You also have more lift in the front 180 degrees of the rotor when airspeed is above ETL which translates to left side lift due to the gyro precession manifesting at 90 degrees later. -
From my reading its kind of mission dependent. If larger columns of tanks are expected then the flight number goes up. In Afghanistan/Iraq 2 there were many times where Kiowas and Apaches would work together 1 on 1 or where 1 Apache would escort a Chinook to an OP. But mostly it would be Apache pairs.

reported Trim with slip indicator always nose left?

This is all really good information on trim guys. So basically the answer is it depends. And I like that answer actually. All this research on helo dynamics like gyro precession and transient torque makes me think "spin wing" pilots are a lot better than us straight wingers. I mean not to derail my own thread but the whole rockets employment fiasco lately is also clearly evidence of how good we have it in jet planes. Two weeks ago I would have told you I'm proficient in helo simming but I now realize that I did not know what I did not know. I think that's called the Dunning-Kruger effect. -
But if you're pulling some G in your turn isn't that gravity? Isn't that what G kinda means. If you loop an aircraft at 1 G the whole pull wouldn't water stay in your stationary cup?

Wags just dropped another vid, heads up, he hits a tree at the end....

Maybe someone with more helo experience than I can help answer the idea of a yaw-trimmed helo. In the MI8 and the MI24 I prefer to trim yaw to zero the drift (i have no idea if this is accurate to RL). This means I'll inevitably have an unlevel helo as it will slightly dip in the direction the wind is coming from. In the apache rockets video wags put out the centered ball still results in some weather cocking/crabbing. Is this normal procedure in all helos or just the apache or what? Asking for a friend......

Yeah the biggest issue for us is the old "put the thing on the thing" mentality doesn't apply here fully. I was struggling at first to understand all the symbology but Casmo helped. Wags needed more than an introduction to fully explain it to us but it was still a great intro. This actually might make rockets a bit more fun and accurate maybe. I dunno.

Ha. This reminds me of the intro scene in Fury when Wardaddy says to Gordo its an American tank not a Mexican tank. "Explain to Gordo its a tool of war" 'Its a tool of war Gordo"

Out of curiosity do you have the UH60 mod? I uninstalled it because my engine sounds for nearly all modules got all out of whack with it. -

THIS....is why DCS is above the rest.

I used a penny of miles because I was like whatever. Then they awarded the 8500 miles but I didn't qualify so I asked for a refund to pay in full (an extra penny) to get the 8500 miles and was told I couldn't. That sucked.

Thanks for the info. In that case I hope they give us the IZLID. -

Gotcha. Can the M-TADS not emit an IR beam? In the A-10 you can select IR, laser, or both. -
I'd choose the UH1- Its American and has the same rotor direction. If you choose Hind or Hip then you've gotta retrain your mind to anti-torque in the opposite direction. I think each platform offers individual benefits and its not difficult to adapt yourself on anti-torque direction but I feel the Huey has a good and natural feel with no augmentation whereas the Hind and Hip have SAS augmentation that drastically affect the way they handle. To train on weapons employment Id train on the A10C-2. Its gonna be the closest weapon system.

WE NEED A DC. Its so annoying having to switch settings before every mission. In my vFS I prefer very specific HMCS, TAD, and HUD settings that make flight management over a battlefield possible. I spend 10mins on startup creating profiles and switching settings etcetera but in cases of quick takeoff I will always forget something when completing this enroute. And its near impossible to fly form and edit/create these head-down. The scripting for it doesn't make sense in my situation as I don't fly a specific airframe but any slot. A DC would make any slot adopt my settings.

TWO 53s. A ninth 64 was in reserve and a 60 was there for rescue.

The Ticonderoga Class USS Vicksburg is misspelled in the Mission Editor Paint Scheme without the "C". The ship skin artwork is correctly spelled so this should be an easy fix.

I actually flew Dobro's setup since he is a close family friend (broski) and its friggin cool. Only problem is I dont use VR and reaching out to grab things was at first like trying to find your way in the dark, but it was nonetheless cool. Sometimes a little black cat would grab your ankle too but from what i hear actual hornet pilots say they find those anklebiters in the real jets too. You should show the connection points under the desk in the back too. Oh isn't that the same chair you use for the sitting scybian too? ...Dobro's gonna kill me

Not alone. Crashes here as well in ME

Is anyone else having issues with static objects showing up on the F10 map by Khasab? Its causing some mission issues where enemies will attack invisible deck units at Khasab I notice it in Caucuses too where static objects will show on Crimean Peninsula. Try it for yourself: Just upload a training mission with a carrier and go to your F10 map and you will see it.
