  1. ...it might be worth running through the mission editor and plonking a few aircraft down.
  2. I've just updated to find the F86 model available as AI so I popped one down on the runway at Kobuleti to take a look. First off, nice model! I'd given it a bomb load and watched it take off. On the climb out it's nice and smoky but at one point there was a big puff of black smoke from the tailpipe and the aircraft lurched. I tried again with a flight of three and this time the leader was fine but number two did the same thing. I wondered if I was seeing a LOD change but the second try was in F2 so probably not. Maybe it was overloaded and sort of backfired? Anyway, nice to see a new aircraft nearing release!
  3. Wags said: Which is what uboats quoted in his post and I think his query is valid. This is DCS and everything is subject to change. Anyway, it certainly shows the mindset of different nations.
  4. Eponsky Bot should take those pics down before Rudel sees them. Rivetsss....
  5. If you look at street view for the second link the light aircraft is replaced by an Mi-8!
  6. Edited in?
  7. The screenshot from the tutorial mission instructs the pilot to 'follow the white rabbit'. The mig is going to be different!

    Release??

Funs don't always appreciate topic titles.
  9. What Flagrum said! I suspect there is a procedure laid down for both sides to follow. Being the first 3rd party aircraft that process may be a little bumpy.
  10. Well, Dolphin posted that the mig had gone to ED for QC and all the rest a couple of weeks ago. I reckon if you take that date and then wait for release, that'll be the answer! I imagine there's a bit of backwards and forwards going on between LN and ED. I'm hoping for something today.
  11. This confused me too. After the first landing follow the heading he gives you and carry on past the farp. There's an outpost further on along that bearing.
  12. Thanks for the correction sLYFa. The Project Tupolev Tu154 is very impressive.
  13. Email sent. Thanks to all the Leatherneck team for looking after the backers.
  14. Whichever module the OP buys I don't think he will be disappointed. Even though BS came out in 2008 it's as DCS as the Huey and Mi-8.
  15. The fs9/fsx freeware Project Tupolev Tu-154 has a similar (if not the same) instrument. It's functional as I recall. Haven't flown the 154 for a few years. There's a comprehensive English manual included in the package if anyone is interested to download...
  16. ...and then there's the naughty list to consider.
  17. I'm thinking the Vampire may actually be a Venom, according to this page, and the shape of the intake http://www.acig.org/artman/publish/article_207.shtml Also, I like that the 2-seater cockpit pic has English labels.
  18. Some western aircraft in there too. Third one down was a vampire? Twin tail booms. Very old... Great pics.
  19. Thank you Yoyo. I will look for your post. Cheers! Please excuse my double post!
  20. Thank you Yoyo. I will look for your post. Cheers!
  21. I've just tried again. For some reason blowing the engine took much longer and I was so cruel with the throttle. I got the yawing again, though. This time I think it's initially a reaction to losing engine power and if I didn't touch the controls it would slowly settle out, but set off again if I banked. I'm don't know if it's right or wrong, just interested in what's happening. I'm running the latest beta, if anyone is interested in trying this out.
  22. Hi all, I'm wondering if anyone else has seen this... I ran the cold start instant action mission and on a whim decided to navigate to Kutaisi. It's been a while since I've flown the P51 and of course i forgot something - after a while the engine seized. I'd left carb heat on and flew at 22000 feet. I thought then I'd glide to a wheels up landing but the Mustang didn't settle into a straight, wing level descent. I found it was yawing alternately left and right. The turn and bank instrument was going like a metronome and stayed like that until I got much lower and the glide settled as I'd expected. The rudder wasn't moving (unless I made inputs) and I tried the starter, which gave the expected lump of torque and turned the prop very slowly. Anyway, I don't have the track but wondered if it had happened to anyone else, and maybe why! Thanks!
  23. I was concerned the rockets were a metaphor for the project.
  24. I think INU drift was modeled in the pre-release betas. I recall a BeachAV8R preview on SimHQ where he set up a hover and the Abris track went off on it's own random way.
  25. It's a very good point GGT, An F15 would always want to play to his advantage and not the '21s. Given the Gulf wars where air superiority was gained very quickly, the Mig isn't going to be in a position where he gets the drop.
