I think now its the best time for the announcement
Vitesse2l replied to assafm25's topic in Heatblur Simulations
The Lada Riva in that pic at least has an English cockpit. Unfortunately, IRL the Lada is actually SFM. -
Would it be the case that all aircraft without cockpit trim controls need to be set up on the ground? If so, trim tab settings are 'there' rather than 'not there'. I assume every squadron would have it's aircraft rigged to cruise at similar speeds, with the idea of easier formation flying

Unable to play on computer that meets minimum requirements...
Vitesse2l replied to Hoggorm's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Hello Hoggorm Have you checked to see what else your laptop may be doing? I use msconfig to prevent lots of unnecessary stuff from running. Also make sure it's not doing anything like windows update or creating restore points. You probably know all that stuff already! -
Nice to see it's not just me! Hopefully others will see this thread and comment, especially if their FF joystick does not have this issue.
-
Hi Derk, I just checked my install and I'm having the same thing when changing cockpit seat also. Obviously didn't use those keys when I tried a few other commands earlier! Can you check your end if the radio key also makes it happen? Thanks!

I'll go with Sobek. My experience is with old car engines, but the greatest wear happens during starting and while the engine is cold.

There's a reflective p51 skin in the lochini landing quick mission.
-
I've just run the quick Lochini landing mission, mainly to check out the evening lighting and noticed a couple of things. First the P51 is plain aluminium, but properly polished and looking good. Second, the landing light gets brighter with increased rpm, just light the headlights on my old cars used too. I don't know if that's a new thing but it's a real nice touch. With the extra FPS in 1.5 the ol' 51 is a real pleasure to fly.

Found a few minutes to play (couldn't resist another go). Looks like my changes under the FF Tune don't take until the radio key (keyboard or joystick) has been pressed once. There don't seem to be any conflicts between the trim and radio commands. I'll have to see if anyone else gets this. Probably just me.

Hi OnlyforDCS, This was a clean update from old beta - clean installed last week, no modules. I installed 1.5 this morning and updated the modules through the manager. Win 7 BTW. Key conflict sounds possible. I haven't altered any assignments in those modules but you never know. I'll look more this evening.

Using a MSFFB2 stick with the Mi8 module. I had the FF working correctly ie move the stick, press trim button, stick stays in that position. Pressing the keyboard radio key (next to enter) caused the stick forces to invert. The FF Tune menu remained the same. Toggling the options got the FF working again. I haven't tried this with other modules yet. EDIT - Just tried the Huey and the same result.

This is much better than I expected. Old system, E8400 C2D with 650Ti and 8Gb ram. I've got most everything turned up and frames are in the 70's for the most part. Only the DOF setting drops it to high teens. Thanks ED. Now about the NTTR...

Good news. Reading that thread reminds me that once upon a time I used to get excited about a new MS DOS release!
-
Perfectly understood. It's probably best to wait a while, really. I always have the urge to try stuff (which is how I tend to learn) but it's usually better to be patient. Cobra is pretty good with helping. I'm sure he'll sort out any problems.
-
Idly wondering - if you view those distant objects through a targeting system do they revert to proper 3d objects? I suspect ED have thought of that, mind.
-
I see... Have you tried to deactivate (may not be a good idea!)? edit - meaning deactivate and reactivate through the starforce dialog which *may* display the key for you. Sounds like there's an issue, though, if others have the problem too.
-
Daft question - Do you have the key in your main DCS module manager? There is a choice to enter the key manually in the Starforce activation. I just reinstalled DCS (kickstarter backer too) and it picked up my key for the main release ok. There I was frantically looking for my email from cobra but I didn't need it. Good job 'cos I had a motherboard die and jiggered my win 7 install trying to resurrect it.

How many modules are you REALLY proficient at?
Vitesse2l replied to Pizzicato's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
I've just reinstalled DCS after my PC died in Feb. I decided to wait for 2.0 before bothering to fix it and the summer is busy anyway... So after a long break I find I've lost the delicate touch needed for the Mi 8 but it started to come back with some landing practice ( choose a spot and don't settle for 'nearly') Systems are pretty much a mystery again. The 109 kicked my butt in 10/10 takeoff attempts. It was better after watching a video or two. Ka-50 is as easy as it always was! -
Pre-Purchase NEVADA Test and Training Range

Do we know if the NTTR map is being released on the beta dcs version or the regular one? I've pre ordered mine . I've had the a10 for a long time, but bought it through Steam so that was probably after the cut off date. -
I'd say that FC3 allows the simmer to better play the part of a trained pilot since there's less worry over switches. It doesn't confer any magical ability just allows us to not sweat the small stuff. I love the Mig-21 but it's mouse-clicking (or multi key presses working with a reference card) surely requires more effort than a RL (or FC3) pilot would use purely because of the interface. With practice it's probably easier but there's an extra learning curve that FC3 sidesteps. As for realistic missiles etc, I think it was pretty well explained earlier but one tiny gripe - In the interest of relative performance / behaviour I'd rather all weapons (inc those developed by third parties) were under central control.

I had the pleasure of visiting Holbeach in the early '80s. A10s and Jaguars doing gun and rocket runs respectively. Made a lasting impression!
-
A Libya map could easily be used for WW2 as well.
-
I suppose the switches should be in their shut down check list positions, or at least where the ground crew decided was suitable.

What sort of animal could go Meow? Perhaps a cat? Maybe a Tomcat? -
I don't have any particular view on these issues, but I do know that most of the "+1" posts are folks on the OP's friends list.
