  1. My way of doing take off, 1 i let plane roll a bit to make sure that tail wheel is straight, 2 i use separate throttle to keep plane, as soon i see plane turn left or right i advance throttle for one engine to correct roll at the same time i use rudder to keep plane roll nice.
  2. Try use take off flaps.
  3. You can use 3250 rpm with no problem w/o mw50. I think that you are mixing bf109 here. In case of k-4 you cant use max rpm without mw50. According to dcs manual 3250 has 30min limit and above 7500m 3250 is certified as continous.
  4. @Ala13_ManOWar Throttle is linked with rpm governor if you push throttle full on you get 3250rpm and depends on mw50 switch position you will get more or less ata. That is pretty much it
  5. Same thing with spitfire's altimeter and speed indicator. But at least for me those gauges aren't exactly part of flight model. Part of aircraft systems i agree.
  6. Wrong. In fw190 d9 you can use full range of throttle with mw50 or without does not matter unlike it is in bf109
  7. @Skewgear Spitfire surpass every ww2 plane in high speed dives and it is only prop plane which score +0.9 mach in dive without killing pilot. Thing is what typical engagements in DCS are low level, spitfire superior dive speed is between 40k-20k ft of alt, at lower alt mach number is much lower and spitfire does not perform as good as at high alt. It is difficult to utilize this strong side of spitfire in DCS
  8. Mostly in climbs during combat, when you dive this additional power has near zero contribution compare to gravity force
  9. In Fw-190 mw50 injection works different from Bf-109. In Bf-109 if you max out throttle it will boost to 1.8 ata and 2700rpm regardless mw50 switch position so in Bf-109 you need to turn on mw-50 all the time, in Fw-190 if you have mw-50 off, engine will limit boost, so with throttle full on with out mw 50 you will get 1.56/1.65 depend on which supercharger speed you are on, if you flip mw-50 on and move throttle full on it will boost higher something like 1.9 to 2.1 depends on supercharger gear. If you have throttle below max mw-50 won't engage. Mw-50 improve detonation resistance of air fuel mixture so engine can operate at higher ATA safely and it cools air/fuel charge which increase power as well.
  10. @Doughguy it is common in axis planes, when you retard throttle to 0 engine rpm falls back almost to idle this reduce drag from prop, in allies planes when you set 2700 for landing in P51 then you retard throttle it takes significant amount of power to wind mill engine at 2700 and this makes a lot of drag acting like dynamic brake.
  11. If this is your first axis plane, forget about how manage engine in spitfire or p-51. Bf-109 has prop control linked with throttle permanently, there is manual pitch mode for prop but this is not what you think it is, it same thing as in P-47 that you can switch to direct pitch control, not very useful anyway unless governor fails. Keep governor switch on and you control engine power with throttle alone nothing else, if you want cruise power you retard throttle and if you want combat power you push throttle forward that's it, don't forget to switch mw-50 on since when you pass certain point with throttle advancement engine will boost 1.8/2800 rpm regardless if mw-50 is on or not. And without mw50 engine will fail at this power settings.
  12. You can select both left and right by using keyboard binds, default it is 8 9 0. I use single axis to control both rpm and if i am in the cruise i select single engine and sync rpm between engines.
  13. Check again.
  14. This is my take off and landing. I hold plane couple ft above ground and wait until speed bleeds off, then bird will touch ground by it self, this technique works with every warbird and early jets too.
  15. @Ala13_ManOWar I don't know what scooters do you have in your country, but in my country scooters old or not does not sounds like DB605 at all.
  16. 2 still a lot more then K-4 sound . It sounds rough because wasn't fired long time.
  17. How complex DM is in RL? It extends beyond limits of modern computation. I've seen photos of planes which got shot to the prop and still managed to go back to base, so not every damage to prop ends up with fatal failure. Actually devs have this kind of tool which record every damage entry and put it in to a file, unfortunately it is unavailable for users.
  18. What do you mean on the ground? with engine turned off, maybe you got some hits in prop if prop loose balance it will shake <profanity> out of the plane, but if engine is off and shake continue, it is weird indeed. About DM model, it will be continuously changed and improved, in this type of sims nothing is ever done 100% and damage model need a lot of work still, it will take years until it would be refined Some discontinuity between visual damage and actual damage may happen, if you would post DCS track from this, ED team could comment on this.
  19. I can only say that visual damage not always match actual damage, but why rudder woble? it could be that damage made rudder no longer balanced control surface or damaged wing makes turbulent air which makes rudder flutter.
  20. Jumo 213 sounds very good, on youtube there is some recordings dora running engine
  21. @Doughguy change units, dora uses km/h, i doubt that you are touching down at 240 mph. Keep practicing, you will get there some day.
  22. Definitely suitable tactics for Anton or Dora require a lot more discipline then Spitfire.
  23. When activated by keyboard button yes, when used via mouse not, old bug i think
  24. @Magic Zach i have high hopes for new cooling model, maybe those things will be sorted out finally.
  25. It is exactly same for p47 early sight 250yards and 350yards for later sight.
