@quantum69 sim mode only game has messed up trims and other things and dev support is very very little.

Don't forget to turn on MW50 in your dora.

@quantum69 all planes has small adjustment tabs which allow to zero flight controls, every plane coming from production line is a bit different, those small tabs allow to correct those small differences so every plane fly the same with in factory specifications. Apparently someone forgot to do this for ailerons in K-4
-
I have this since forever. Funny that some ppl don't have this lol. After take off stick deflect to the right, and i can see that ailerons are deflected when i apply this trim in special tabs ailerons are straight in flight. And this has nothing common with torque. Torque can roll the plane but it won't deflect ailerons.
-
On the ground with engien off there is no air flow around control surfaces to affect them, once engine is on it pushes air and this air affects control surfaces, you can notice it on the ground if you increase engine speed it will gradually affect elevator and rudder with increase engine rpm, aileron isn't affected by prop stream but when you are in the air ailerons are effected by air flow as well and this is simulated. If you ask me why only in bf-109 aileron is deflected by air stream in flight, i have no idea. But fix is easy, go to special tab in main menu and set negative aileron trim and bf-109 will stop roll and stick will be centered in flight. I set mine to -27 but you can experiment and set value which fits you best.

In my opinion K-4 in DCS act like it has very forward moved COG, K-4 require very larger elevator deflection for G, so elevator need to act with great force on the airframe to induce significant G because it has to fight with very forward moved COG, in K-4 trim is done via horizontal stabilizer incidence angle and 0 on the trim dial does not mean that plane will fly straight. But K-4 n dcs definitely does not act like plane with COG in half way from wings to tail section no way:)

@tazzharm if you just go quick look through P-47's manual, things will become much clearer.

In P-47 GEN switch is well placed so i've never forgot to switch it on, i drained battery in bf-109 couple of times, gen switch is hidden from normal view, and battery drains pretty quick w/o gen. First indication of low battery voltage is lower readings on electrically powered gauges, like oil temp, coolant temp, fuel pressure but engine it self and gauges powered by vacuum are not effected in most cases, in case of bf-109 engine can't take full power due to low fuel pressure. Problem with dcs p-47 is that fuel system isn't modeled correctly, according to p-47 manual, selecting tank on tank selector should activate electric pump for chosen fuel tank, which does not happen in dcs, so loosing electric power isn't affecting p-47 as should. I don't know is this bug was acknowledge by ED team but, it will take a lot waiting for this fix.

Probably they take all fuel that they could, even long range fuel tank could be added additionally to extend the range, if mission was deep in enemy territory to bomb some infrastructure then yes, tank would be filled to the top.
-
The best way would be, to be able to tell crew how much fuel do you want in each tank, for example 15% in outer and half main tank, that would be ideal i think. This simplified version some how worked in previous birds, but in mosquito fule system is much more complex.
-
So if main tank will be filled first then outer tanks will be empty, manual says to use outer tanks for engine start up so you will not be able to fallow start up procedure.
-
Yes they are, it needs a lot of time to idle at low rpm to get this. I'm not sure but only way to fix this spark plug fouling is to respawn. I encountered this couple times, but it was in previous version of the game so i cant tell is it 100% still here :P.

reported Landing light always visible in external view at certain LOD.
grafspee replied to Art-J's topic in Bugs and Problems
I certainly see this LOD bug as well, openbeta. I have to add that this light is visible regardless landing light switch on or off. -
Why "pacific map" landed in spitfire topic ?, maybe some comment on spitfire status, things are not quite complete.
-
Swapping guns only would be more inaccurate then do nothing, later spits had different tail, and wings are quite different too. So it would require to remodel FM quite deep, so not so easy mod as you think. Our spitfire probably started as MK V and in mid production they reequip it to mk IX

What maneuvers will kill a P-51 engine?
grafspee replied to Boomer_G-Loc's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
@Boomer_G-Loc40" at what rpm ?? If you do tail slides you have to cut throttle to 0 before plane start sliding down, when P-51 slides down cooling is not existent and even idle will overheat engine if you keep any power above idle engine will cook in that situation, if you use 40" max you can set engine rpm to 2500-2600 you don't need higher rpm at all at this MP, this will help with cooling as well. I was doing that kind aerobatics my self recently, i was using standard climb power rating 46/2700, in vertical climb when my speed was passing 150 indicated i was cutting throttle already still hitting 120C coolant at peak of this climb where speed was 0, any thing above then idle, temp would go beyond 120C. When dcs p-51 engine seizure, over boost or over heat is involved or combat damage, fuel starvation do not involve engine seizure. -
So spitfire, mosquito and a-8 left only

1) not operational at this moment afaik, but planned. 2) Pitot heat and icing is modeled, but my experience with it, is prior to new cloud system introduction, since then i didn't encounter any icing with pitot 3)Carb temp in P-47 as i fly is almost at red line so i can't speak about carb icing, probably not. 4)Dust ingestion consequences are long term, in DCS i did maybe 2-3 hour max flight, so no matter how much engine will eat dust you will not see any effect on it. So nobody will care to model this. 5) Emergency rehtostat for fuel pump works, but not quite as real, fix for this is planned afaik, fuel pressure drops when using drop tank is modeled, drop tanks are pressurized by engine's supercharger so when MP is not sufficient fuel may stop flowing from drop tanks. 6) I don't know anything about that. 7) Visualy i have never experienced cockpit frosting or fogging so probably not modeled. 8 ) I didn't encounter any tire damage from this so probably not.

Why is the Spitfire so terrible?
grafspee replied to Cunning_Fox's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
Spitfire looks like not being touched by devs for years now. -

It is enough that throttle is closed in active pause for longer time -
Engine stops in gun ground attack tutorial
grafspee replied to jfri's topic in DCS: P-47 Thunderbolt
Probably main engine bearing damage, no one knows why this thing brakes so easy if you wanted to ask about it. -
With 12:30 your engine will over rev faster, if high power for take off is used, governor has to be switched much early then at 12:00, this is the only issue with default 12:30.
