  1. I don’t understand why we don’t have this. Please HB, pretty please…
  2. Nope, I believe the latest version will be the desktop shortcut. Ive recently started to delete them so I don’t have loads of different versions installed, but it makes no difference if you don’t as far as I can tell. Just make sure you are using the right shortcut.
  3. Quick update: All sorted, I was using an out of date version of the software. Silly me!
  4. Righty, I pressed the button marked “DCS Repair Export” but it didn’t seem to do anything. Am I missing something? Possibly, but when I fire up DCS the little window that opens says the jet pad is connected ok, and I am able to tinker with all the settings. It just doesn’t do anything other than when I pickle a bomb or random vibrations now and again. Despite what I said original post, now I come think of it I did install all the software I had used when it worked (I had a folder with it all in). I’ll double check that tomorrow. Gotta say though, when I did work it was amazing, really adds to the experience. Really hope I can get it going again. Thanks for the help guys.
  5. Thank you @fagulha I’ll give that a try and report back
  6. Hello, I thought I’d post here before bothering Sergio directly, but this is my little story so far.. A little while back my Jetpad stopped working. I contacted Sergio, who was great and very helpful, and he sent me a replacement board which I fitted. It was a bit patchy at first but it worked though not as reliably as before. Since then I bought a new PC but now the Jetpad doesn’t work. Well, if I use the Test option in the software all but one of the vibrating thingys vibrate, but when playing the only time i feel anything is if I release a weapon. I can feel it trying do something but it just kinda gives up and stops. Come to think of it, it did work on the first flight I did on my new pc, but nothing since. On the new pc I just installed the Simshaker for Aviators software and plugged the pad in, did I miss something? Thanks in advance.
  7. Oh I’m sure it’s being worked on, along side the dynamic campaign. I mean it has to be, right?

    I am excited

    What was the original title?
  9. Currently reading a book by a RN Harrier pilot, he said he set master arm on as soon as he was wheels up in Afghanistan. I do the same now, saves getting annoyed when you screw up an attack because you forgot the master arm switch (that was his reasoning too).
  10. 3090 was great but the 4090 is something else. Is saving a bit longer an option? The 4090 is possibly the last card you’d need for some time.
  11. I should just test this stuff but I get far far more time to think about it than actually do it. Probably not the case anymore or I’d see it mentioned more here. The tracking thing I can’t explain, nothing has really changed. And yeah my desk is suitably filthy, “tidying is bad” is deffo a movement I could get behind. Doesn’t Turbo mode shut off MR? Though I’ve had a bit more of a play around with it and the fact you can turn it on and off in game is great. Apart from the tracking issues I’m pretty pleased with the state of things. I’m sure we’ll get the frames we lost in 2.8 back once MT arrives.
  12. A couple more questions if nobody minds? *feigning deafness* Great! A post on Reddit claims High (cockpit) shadows are less demanding than Low in 2.8. Is this true? Im having some tracking issues with my G2 on my new computer. Things like looking down at my left/right consoles and when I look back up at the HUD my head position is now up and to the left (or right). I’ve reset the tracking data multiple times but it still happens despite it never being an issue on my old pc. I found Turbo mode, my Toolkit was out of date it seems, but turns out it’s not for me. Does anyone else find themselves procrastinating about what to fly more than actually flying? I actually miss the days when it was the Hornet or nothing (for multi role). Damn my brain!
  13. 2.8 = mixed emotions. Looks great but GPU frame times up by 2-3 ms. I was happy with how it looked before, but progress has a price I suppose. Still, the future is bright. Thanks edmuss, I can’t go back to upscaling though. I’ve been spoilt! It’s all good though, I’ll muddle on…
  14. Nice one @edmuss thank you. I’ve only turned on terrain shadows since I got a 4090, I’d be sad to see them go so soon. Looking forward to seeing the new lighting though.
  15. Ok, I’ve taken the plunge, 2.8 is downloading. Do you still need to turn shadows off? Hope not
  16. Thanks @Wolf8312 much appreciated I’m proper excited about MT, but I can’t make my mind up about updating. I get so little time to fly as it is and updating is essentially no flying for a week. If you are playing something like Liberation or DCE I highly recommend a dedicated server, but multithreading is the best news I’ve heard in many a year.
  17. Please feel free to ignore/answer as many or as few as you like. 1) Is 2.8 still cursed? There seems to be great things on the horizon (multithreading woooop!) so if yes it’s only temporary. It takes me at least 6 hours to D/L an update so I’m taking no risks. 2) Talking of multithreading, I’m using a spare pc as a dedicated server to improve cpu frame times. Is this likely to be giving me similar performance as MT will? 3) Anyone else a little worried that the boost from MT will get gobbled up by new features? (eg ai not being able to see through clouds.) 4) OpenXR turbo mode, I can’t find how to turn this on. Can’t see any option for it on the F2 menu in game. Is it a recent addition? Should I have it on? Thank you in advance.
  18. Also I like the way it handles, the Hornet just goes where you point it but the Harrier always seems a little, but not too, rebellious. I never feel like I’m fighting it, just needs some gentle persuasion to do what you want it to do. The Hornets just says “yes boss” which is handy when you have a lot of admin to do, but can get a bit dull. Still love the Hornet though.
  19. Just picked this up for £10 on Amazon: He flew Hornets too, so it’s win win for me!
  20. Ah excellent, thank you. I will keep this in mind, thanks. Funny you should say that. I jumped in the Harrier after a bit of a break from DCS, I’d been flying a spitfire in IL2. And yeah it felt like a rocket! Then I made the mistake of playing around in the Tomcat… Still, there’s something about the Harrier that makes it so fun to fly. It feels agile and responsive (when not carrying too much) and has some very cool tricks up it’s sleeve. And I can put an RAF/Royal Navy skin on it!
  21. Thanks @Reflected I’m not crying, I just have something in my eye… As soon as the performance issues with 2.8 have been ironed out it I will buy it. I even bought the doc on Amazon in preparation. I read the Big Show again recently, what a book! It’s thanks to your campaign that I read it in the first place, so thank you.
  22. The prospect of a proper training campaign has me very excited, but I’ve not upgraded to 2.8 (VR user) would this prevent me from buying/playing this (or any other) campaign? Also, if you were to make a campaign of this kind for the Hornet I reckon you’d make a killing. Just a thought… …come to think of it, if you wouldn’t mind just dedicating the rest of your life to making one for every module @Reflected that’d be great! Hehe only joking of course. Thanks
  23. Thanks @Miguel21 for the prompt response. Not worried about the bomb issue, just curious. I believe HMS Invincible came with the SA map, is it possible to swap assets round with same file as the weather/date? Thanks again : )
