  1. Making progress on takeoff/landing tweaks with the landing gears. The manual wing sweep (no longer automatic) is also being currently tested.

Couldn't have said it any better. Hop in the A-10C, move your head forward, turn it around and pull the stick back. Zoom in on just how basic those albedo textures are being diffused on it and you will quickly want to un-see it.
  3. It has been mentioned. Numerous times...
  4. Awesome! Glad to hear that it will be fixed. What about the air intakes? (In case someone wants to do pre-flight checks and move their head out of the cockpit)
  5. That's not the issue. It's that there are missing parts, the panels are sticking out through the fuselage, and panels are missing on the top of the fuselage near the back towards the engine.
  6. There is no current post about the button floating here in this section of the forums. Even if related to the topic, there are no screenshots or concise details pointing to it besides "nails not attached." I am aware of the missing parts being an optimization feature, but it still means that the issue exists as an outcome of the Views.lua 6-DOF.
  7. Hey guys. So first off, I love the Viggen. It is a work of art and is well detailed in the systems and model. But as I was personally inspecting my eyegasm areas, I noticed an issue with the stick... A button is just floating. Not sure how long this has even existed, but it looks very odd. This is not some major issue, but one of those tiny OCD things.
  8. Now you're entering the land of code and complicated AI work to it knowing where you are "looking" ;)
  9. From the DDG stream, you are able to switch to AG mode and show TV in front on your TIDS but the actual controls of the LANTIRN are in the back with the RIO with the Fishbowl. :)

This is how I feel as well. There are certain pictures of this aircraft's cockpit showing that type of condition. It is more logical to me to rather have re-created what is already there instead of trying to assume the clean paint.
  11. Fingers crossed for the -8D! Just some insight: The F-8 was what I believe is called HDD, (heads down display) so you had some form of a ground control or station feeding you the information to the pilot on where to go, what appeared on radar, etc.

So what you're suggesting is an F-14B that came from the factory line. :D And, as I see it, many 3rd parties are shifting to this trend of dirtiness because you're quite frankly not going to get your hands on a very clean aircraft from the production lines. (Not even our AV-8B will survive it with the impending cockpit update)

I honestly must disagree. As much as I see your point, it just doesn't feel right at all. And realistically, it isn't right to keep it clean. Even at places where the F-14 cockpit + body are preserved and kept on maintenance, there is still exposure and you can see the wear on it. You can see the wing sweep handle here and landing gear lever with this showing, and even the labeling. There is also chipping of the paint, which (as was said by Robert) did not get placed on steel, but aluminium.

I'm not sure why we're now allowing dirty exteriors to be accepted and not cockpits... Aircraft are not squeaky clean and especially with the conditions the Tomcat was in with the Cold War, maintenance was not the best.
  15. In my eyes, the flying part of the F-14 will be quickly mastered in time with the importance of slip when dogfighting. But as the saying goes for this: "A bad pilot makes a bad plane," the same applies to the RIO. So I will be dedicating most of my time to the RIO to master the brains of the AWG-9 and control the LANTIRN. :)

This is odd. I am in no means an aircraft preservation expert, but this had been already discussed by Cobra himself. I can't find the link itself, but if anyone can, it would greatly help to back it up with this: " ... we saw cockpits where they had layered coats of paint from the chipping of the paint. So we [believe] it is realistic." Somewhere along these lines.
  17. Yes, I do. Upon investigating it in modelviewer2, I found it had appeared when rotating at a certain amount of zoom or when my camera was close to the cockpit area.

  19. Here is the weapons loadout of the MiG-23UB upon release. From manual:
  20. From what I researched, it was mainly a squadron paint scheme change for the French and their own missiles fitted on. So yes, you are correct. Also some distinct differences on the airframe. But I think this is because the French one is -8E and the Navy is -8J. An example is the rudder top chord.
