  1. I can almost guarantee you're flying with too much internal fuel, the aft tank needs to be completely empty for maneuvering in the P-51, and the same goes for the auxil tank in the 47. These are endurance birds with large amounts of internal fuel much of which is not meant to still be in the tanks when dog fighting occurs. You should be able to maintain a good 4G+ sustained turn rate above 20,000ft in a properly trimmed out, less than 60% fuel load, 51 with ease. Much of this knowledge is lost on new players/ jet pilots to warbids who are used to flying with 100% fuel. I think even Mover and Gonky were flying with the 51 fully loaded with fuel and didnt understand why it was snap rolling left and right too
  2. When Belsimtek originally released the MiG-15, the pilot didnt have an oxygen mask either, the difference is one was added later on along with an updated pilot model. This has also happened with several other aircraft. So we know there's a precedent of pilot models being updated, without the rest of the aircraft being touched. This is never going to happen with the P-51 unless people are vocal about it. So be vocal.
  3. 12 years without an oxygen mask. I'd happily pay $10 or $20 or whatever for a simple update. We're still flying what is essentially an airshow P-51 against real WW2 ere birds that are much more detailed
  4. You're comparing real life German pilots who had 30-90+ hours more of flight time on average compared to their Russian counter parts over the Eastern front and are wondering why Russian's got slaughtered whole sale, and you're asking why it was so easy for them to be shot down? Like you think the 190 was some sort of super plane instead of the amount of training and flight time German pilots had? You do realize there is training before combat, yes? You said you've read books, did you not take into account these facts? The amount of training involved? You have the mentality of a child. Maybe warthunder, or IL-2, or ace combat is more your speed.
  5. I'm glad I got being obsessed with online mulitplayer' pew pew score mentality' out of my system years ago, because that is the absolute wrong mentality to be having in such a complex sim like DCS. Imagine disregarding an entire series of aircraft just because you didn't get a few quick kills with them in some online server. Good grief
  6. 2.9 wrecked MT for AMD Ryzen users, I'm sticking with 2.8 (which works flawlessely) until it gets sorted out
  7. Nevada is also a good 3-6000ft ASL compared to the Marianas and caucuses (depending on where you're taking off from). Lower your weight
  8. Flight director mode, (the blue AP button off to itself separate from the four dampener channels) should almost NEVER be on. It is for cross country waypoint to waypoint flying on a predetermined route. It should never be on in a combat zone, and should never be on when wanting to joyride/turn at your leisure. I've been flying the Ka-50 since it was released in 2008 (that's 15 years for those counting), and I simply never turn it on at all. Only bank and pitch hold should be on 100% of the time, heading hold is optional if you want to keep your heading of course for hands off flying. Altitude hold, only for hovering. The trim works so well in the Kamov you do not need to rely on all dampener channels being on all at once all the time, and the flight director will only fight you for 90% of the things you are trying to do in it. You certainly do not need to hold the trim button at all times if you fly it correctly with only the minmum of autopilot assists on. Another thing to note, anytime you press the auto hover button, ALL AP channels automatically turn on, but they DON'T turn back off when you press it again, so you'll have to manually turn off the altitude hold channel again (and possible HH) if you want to get back into free flight after hovering. So if you start getting shot at while in auto hover, and need to evasive maneuver, that's something you'll have to remember.
  9. Neither the BS2 or 3 HUD in my game looks like your pic. You seem to somehow have gotten an addition VSI scale indicator to appear where the airspeed should be. I dont know how you did that.
  10. Any mission and campaign using the (BS2 ka-50) can easily be changed to using BS3 by simply changing the unit in the mission editor. The waypoints will remain the same. Congratulations, you just made a BS3 campaign simply by clicking a button.
  11. Was Jester's dialogue written by fighter pilots? Or was it written with the help of reddit discord mememers?
  12. "420 blaze it fagot" is 50+ year old humor?
  13. They might be the best at making modules, but unfortunately Heatblur is wrapped in the reddit meme cringe humor bubble and they've it leak into a combat sim that it has no business in. I've gone in and manually deleted several audio files in Jester's sound folder. Anyone can do this without issue, just delete the speech files you don't like. Jesus, even when I was a kid I didn't have such an awful sense of humor as they do.
  14. That video isnt even from DCS. lmao
  15. You can always go back to wherever you came from.
  16. Pitch, roll and heading hold (and FD if you're into that, I'm not) are for cross country flying. As soon as missiles start flying at you, i.e. you're in an autohover and the enemy has just lased you, I immediately switch off auto hover then make sure HH is off too, leaving only pitch and bank, and that's it. That's how you evade and skim tree top getting out of dodge. Flight director is for waypoint flying, you really shouldn't have it on at all times.
  17. No two versions of the Ka-50 in real life are even the same and it was never mass produced, it's much more realistic for ED to add something to a 2015+ model of it that it would have had in real life if the Russian military wasn't in complete shambles. The AH-64D is also being worked on by actual AH-64D pilots and crew members, and there's tons more data of it available to make an accurate simulation of. There's always going to be more data available to model US aircraft then Russian. You're comparing apples and oranges, in addition to advocating for less realistic modeling of aircraft just for the sake of 'fun'. If ED has to make an older module of a Russian aircraft because that's the most information they're going to have access to, then that's the model they should make, every time.
  18. +1! Most definitely the P-51 feels broken/unfinished with its civilian pilot compared to the other WW2 birds, he doesn't even wear an oxygen mask
  19. Yes, that is by design. The propeller blades have variable pitch, their 'bite' against the air can change depending on the prop pitch setting. Is this not something you were aware of? I think by default AI aircraft spawn on the tarmac with minimal pitch.
  20. Yep. As it should be with the engine off sitting on the tarmac.
  21. The blade is pitched forward in either setting, the very tip seems to be confusing you but the overall blade, as its twisted, is still canted forward.
  22. The leading edge IS swept forward...
  23. I don't know about the latest patch, but if you use radio communication to talk to your wingmen, this kills the audio tone for the sidewinder and sidearm. This is a reproducible bug that I could replicate over and over again so I know what was causing it on my end. Telling my wingmen to attack anything would kill the tones for the rest of the mission.
  24. I just want to be able to load the aft tank again to simulate the aft CoG change that the real life pilots had to fight with when they had a full internal load. I wonder if ED actually removed that on purpose because new pilots were crashing on take off with a full load? Surely not....
