  1. Thanks for that, but that's not my issue. There doesn't seem to be a script telling the sim to play the FlapsIn.wav or Flaps.wav files, in or out of the cockpit when the flaps are moved. These 2 files are played and easily heard in/out of the cockpit of other jets I've flown, F-15, Mig-29, Su-27 etc.
  2. I don't hear them in or out of the cockpit. Why wouldn't they be heard inside the cockpit?
  3. Has anyone figured out how to get the sound of the flaps when raising or lowering to make some audible sound? There is a .wave file for this and it makes plenty of sound but ingame it's absolutely silent. I was able to raise the sound of the landing gear nicely but not the flaps. Thank you.
  4. Thank you for your response. Also can I delete the dcs.log-****.zip files, they all look like mission .dmp/crash files.
  5. Would this be the same log [dcs.log] file that would be requested by DCS if I had an issue I couldn't fix?
  6. In my autoexec.cfg I have the following line: log.set_output("dcs", "", log.ALL, log.FULL) Does anyone know exactly what this does? Looks like a log command of some sort. Thank you.
  7. I picked this additional info up from a search I did. From Mustang: "a .trk file will still be generated in your Users\<name>\Saved Games\DCS\Tracks\Multiplayer folder but it will only be the mission contents and nothing more, notice the file size of the .trk does not grow in size." Quite correct, if I fly the same mission for a long time or short time in MP the file is always the same size 1300 KB. A far cry from hundreds of megabytes that I'm used to seeing per flight.
  8. What's wrong with the current OB version?
  9. How do you post a comment on the mod page of the autor? https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/ Thank you.
  10. As currently modelled I agree with the F-15 probably being the toughest, I thought the F-14 is still missing systems. I also like the Mig-29c.
  11. I understand the popularity of the Hornet as I fly it as well. It's lots of fun but it's missing features that I'm sure a real pilot would prefer to have in combat. This can be said for other jets in DCS development as well. The FC3 jets have simplified systems that could be considered an advantage. But beyond popularity, which jet is the most dangerous in A/A given their current state as is designed in DCS?
  12. Using the same pilot skill to level the playing field...including FC3 and all other module jets, which of all the jets modeled as is currently in DCS do you think has air combat superiority advantage? Thank you.
  13. I've been able to increase the sound of the landing gear, chaff, flare etc. by increasing the gain value in the corresponding .sdef files however I cannot find the corresponding .sdef file for the flaps. I've increased the gain on all the .sdef files containing the name flaps but no change in game sound when lowering or raising flaps.. Anyone know where it is located? Thank you.
  14. I'd like to know all the file names and their installation location as I want to manually remove each file. Thank you.
  15. SSD is very cheap now, bought a 2TB for around 125.00 usd, excellent results in not only load time but gameplay smoothness as well, absolutely no stuttering/freeze-ups. Another thing that helped me a lot was adding this line to the autoexec.cfg located: G:\Users\user name\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config no_device_hotplug = true
  16. In settings you say you have it set to 1 monitor 1920x1080 and you have a check box to enable full screen. When you see the DCS logo press ALT+ENTER this will toggle on/off full screen as well.
  17. Added disable_write_track = true below the second line...didn't keep the MP track from being written and saved. log.set_output("dcs", "", log.ALL, log.FULL) no_device_hotplug = true disable_write_track = true edit: Made no difference when I removed the first 2 lines.
  18. Thanks for this...I already have an autoexec.cfg there can I just add the line just below my last command line? log.set_output("dcs", "", log.ALL, log.FULL) no_device_hotplug = true
  19. I agree with you that's why I posted, not appreciating the technical difficulties some may have with midnight darkness. I fly F-18 in VR and am comfortable with midnight darkness.
  20. Does anyone have any info for the input/output sound source settings? Thank you.
  21. What about locking the folder so nothing can be written to it? There may be a setting to change whether .trk files are saved?
  22. Active pause works well for single player. [L-shift+L-windows+pause]
  23. Thanks for the info all! In settings the HMD has an option for left eye right eye or both...is this what is be referred to?
  24. WOW! is all I can say, what a lot of work!! Glad it worked out in the end, now go enjoy flying:pilotfly: Cheers!
