  1. All in all I really like 2.5.6, flying the PG at night is amazing. Although the beginning of sunset looks great there begins to be a strange sky color banding that forms for about 15 minutes just as late sunset goes into total darkness...then all looks great again when totally dark. This color band gets reflected into the water as well and as you look into the direction of final sunset it looks like you're seeing a sand storm. I don't see this on my monitor only my Rift. I'd post a picture but it doesn't reproduce when I press print screen. Anyone know what's going on and how to possibly eliminate it? Thank you.
  2. Do you have 'confine mouse'...in VR option checked?
  3. How is it used?
  4. Low level flying over water, set to 100', taking off from an airfield 200', carrier ops call for different settings as well, if there are known air threats like AA small arms fire etc. all call for different alt. reminders not to go below.
  5. Not sure what you're talking about...this is what I'm referring to. Round dial bottom right, what's the mapping. https://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=228311&stc=1&d=1582342948
  6. I want to map the Radar Altimeter Switch to my HOTAS, is there a key binding? Thank you.
  7. I saw it one time FA-18.
  8. Also you may need to re-check the option to run as administrator.
  9. Flying VR... I like the newest version DCS 2.5.6.43872 Open Beta - 20.02.2020. Flying the PG now, I believe the city and building lights have been turned down a bit from DCS 2.5.6.43453 Open Beta - 13.02.2020. I like that you can see the the runway lights from a realistic distance, earlier versions was near impossible to see them until you were on top of the runway. From Wiki: "The visual approach slope indicator (VASI) is a system of lights on the side of an airport runway threshold that provides visual descent guidance information during approach. These lights may be visible from up to 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) during the day and up to 32 kilometres (20 mi) or more at night." Oh ya...don't forget to delete the fxo and metashaders2 folders after each update!
  10. Thank you both for your response. Yes I forgot to delete fxo and metashaders2...all is great once again for VR night flying.
  11. A big step backwards with DCS 2.5.6.43872 Open Beta - 20.02.2020. The night time sky color banding over the PG water is unplayable. DCS 2.5.6.43453 Open Beta - 13.02.2020 was great lighting, some monitor users complained the street lights were a bit too bright. I see in 2.5.6.43872 the street lights were dimmed quite a bit. Unfortunately the sky which was greatly improved in 2.5.6.43453 is now worse than it's ever been. I've tried all the different gamma settings but no joy. Please fix this. Thank you.
  12. +1 This would help to level the playing field and avoid unintended/intended advantages, having global calibration.
  13. Rift 1.3 day and night...simply beautiful flying the PG at sunset into the night. Outside the city the country is now truly dark [if no full moon out]. I wonder if the negative lighting issue I read about is more related to monitor users?
  14. This new lighting in 2.5.6 update has really been appreciated using VR...simply beautiful flying the PG at sunset! I wonder if the negative lighting issue I read about is more related to monitor users?
  15. Why do you use OVGME for saved games folder files once placed?
  16. Thanks again for helping to fill in the blanks:thumbup:
  17. If I understand you correctly, once the mod is placed in the correct saved games folder you don't need to touch it again even when you do an update...it won't get overwritten.
  18. Thanks...It sounds somewhat like a pilot arbitrary decision wasn't sure if there was a more formulated approach or not.
  19. There is 1 BARO warning setting [HSI] but 2 RADAR warning settings [HSI & RADAR Altimeter]. Under what scenario would you want to set both RADAR warning settings? For radar AGL warning, I just set the RADAR Altimeter warning and leave the HSI setting alone. BARO I'm fine with. Thank you.
  20. If both FCS tests should be run before a flight, which do you run first [bIT or RESET]?
  21. Yes I have many mods other than sound in saved games.
  22. I agree with what you say. Flying sunset in PG now is breathtaking, love the ground lights, stars look great [even though a bit greenish at least they can easily be seen]and I like the realism of now needing to turn down cockpit lighting at night especially when landing. Flying gamma 1.3 night, the ground goes dark away from city lights, I keep 1.3 for daytime as well. One thing I've noticed with this update, most VR users love it, most monitor users not as much...they complain the lights are too bright.
