Update... Thank you all! I see afterall that I do not need trim at all, very subtle taps on the stick does the trick giving the smallest inputs needed. But without being in A/P [non-designated mode] making these subtle stick movements I find the plane tends not to be as controllable as when I approach in A/P [without any mode designated]. When I let go the stick the plane stops exactly where I am but without A/P I find it tends to drift past when I go stick neutral. Hope this is understandable.

Can you choose to snow plow yet once it's moved?
-
My understanding of a dead zone, is it allows freedom of movement within the dead zone without input. As you pass out of the dead zone your range starts at zero at that point and will increase according to your curve be it linear or %. You can see this illustrated in the stick control settings.
-
randomTOTEN & Revs: I'll re-examine my joy stick curves/dead zone and see how that plays out. It took me a long time practicing to be able to do a fill up with confidence...I'll try making the effort to break bad habits and do it right! Thanks again!

Yes I have been putting it into BALT, of course the moment you make a minor pitch adjustment you lose BALT but still stay in the A/P mode that still somewhat mutes your controls to help keep flight smooth...thanks for the confirmation on that aspect. I wonder if for the sake of having micro control like I did with the trim, if I can in addition map stick control through the 4-way on the stick, would it give me the same micro control that trimming did...or not. Just a thought? I will try later on tonight and see if I can do it as it should be done.
-
Thanks, I thought it was strictly a mechanical adjustment that did not affect other flight aspects. I didn't take into account that trim may be influencing other fly-by-wire controls, sort of like a domino affect.
-
OK thanks...back to work:pilotfly:
-
It's fairly smooth, just adjusting for a slight up/down movement. I thought trimming the stabilizer was the same as making micro stick movements?
-
Correct. I would have to adjust curve a lot which would make regular flight a bit sluggish on response. I'll pay attention to the FCS next time, this could be part of it. If you're supposed to use stick only and no trim I'll have to relearn AAR. Once I get 'refueling complete' and the basket retracts, I return to 500kts and that's when I have the nose heavy issue. As I've mentioned trimming up a great deal will eventually correct this. I don't understand why I need to trim up so much in respect to the up/down trimming I did to fly formation. Thanks to all for the input!
-
So you use stick only?
-
Throttle control is no problem but to just use stick instead of trim to make micro flight adjustments in feet or inches is not precise enough, I find myself over correcting except when using trim...much more precise, feel like I can thread a needle with the nose of my plane.
-
Thanks all for your input. Maybe I'm not explaining it clearly. When doing air to air refueling I use trim to make the very subtle flight adjustments needed to keep formation as neither the tanker nor I are flying on rails. When finished refueling and break away, I then experience this issue...as if I dramatically trimmed to an extreme which I don't. I don't usually have this issue the rest of the time flying if not refueling.

These are WoW settings.

Yes I realize that is normally how things go but when things don't go that way...is there an easier/quicker way to get flight level other than manually trimming? Is there an FCS or other setting that will do this for you at the press of a button like I believe the F-15 or Mig?
-
Sometimes when formation flying I do more than normal trimming and then find the plane gets nose heavy and wants to dive. Trimming nose up for a while eventually levels me out. It's interesting that I'm balance trimming so I don't understand why the dramatic out of trim. Is there an easier/quicker way to get flight level? Thank you.

Auto ASW is doable now only through OTT but in the mean time, solid 45fps is working fine for me without using OTT. Thanks for the feedback...I'll figure it out one of these days:thumbup:

I'm running 2.5.6 on: Oculus App Version 13.0.0.280.463 (13.0.0.280.463)
-
Without having OTT, Right CTRL plus 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 were the 4 ASW commands that always worked for me when it worked and I was able to change on the fly without having to pause the game. As you suggested Left CTRL and the numpad keys are mapped to the actual UFC key pad so all I see are numbers being input into the UFC scratchpad so that didn't work. In your OTT do you have shortcut keys enabled by chance? Edit: I cleared the L-CTRL numpad keys so nothing is now mapped but no joy.
-
Tried it but no joy. On a positive note, I'm solid 45fps never a stutter...but I'm still curious what's going on.
-
dburne, Yes I would say it's fully functioning based on your last post. Quadg, I will give it a try, never had to do that before... Thank you both.
-
I think that's the way it's supposed to work.
-
Can the TPOD be slewed to where you want and allowed to snow plow from there? Currently once you move it, it auto locks on the location.
-
I remember a few versions ago you said the same thing, I thought maybe it's a version issue at my end that would get resolved but never did. BTW how are you confirming all 4 ASW DCS shortcuts or OTT ASW options actually work? Seeing as OTT and DCS shortcuts both don't respond, I'll contact Oculus tech and see what they say, thanks for your feedback.
-
Over the past many DCS versions, I'm unable to get Oculus Rift to change ASW settings either by using the Oculus tool tray or the keyboard shortcuts. In OTT I see the ASW options, I can change the settings but nothing actually changes in-game. This is confirmed by FPS indicator as well as the OTT overlay screen. https://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=224202&stc=1&d=1577904383 I'm locked in at a solid 45fps and all is smooth but would like to know if the ASW options are still available? Thank you.
-
Correct, they run independent of each other.
