Radar elevation always full up 99/99?
GPatricks replied to Stinger's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Good tip txmtb, thanks! -
It's all good buddy, I may well be swapping out the bow-legged Pro Pedals for yours when they are ready anyway! ;) Just to add more confusion, this is the only pic I could find of Pro Pedals base taken apart showing the OEM Pot... and the number is different from all the others..

Well, apparently the throttle (according to Digikey) alone uses that special pot (1040-1156-ND - REPPOT615, stamped 900-6158 1741 on the housing), the toe brakes use the only pot with the longer shaft with 90 degree contacts (1040-1164-ND and is stamped HP-100A 1709). I can only assume the Fighterstick and Pedals use the 3rd variant (I call it "Unknown" in the pics attached, looks the same size as the throttle to me) - (1040-1173-ND, stamped 900-615C 0537), no idea what, if any, difference it is from the Throttle pot other than part numbers? Here are pics of all three for comparison, labeled so you know what is what. Note that the throttle and "Unknown" are at full CCW and are the same, and both have the same travel, but not the same part #'s..

Nothing from Thomas yet, but as I want the new sensors also (for both the throttle and Fighterstick (yes I do have the FS)) there is no rush, i'll wait and buy all at once if that's ok. Got it, please put me down as definite for the new FS Mainboard and new sensors for both the Fighterstick and the Pro Throttle. Currently I do use the FS Throttle wheel but that will end with my Pro Throttle rebuild. On another note, did you see my post on the Digikey Pots? Will your sensors also replace the Pro Pedal sensors (as i'm told CH only used 3 for everything, maybe map what goes where?). Thanks so much!

They look great rel4y! Can you simplify the upgrade path for me please? I'm not going to add anything to my Fighterstick, just want it be be as accurate as possible and reliable for years to come. Should I just do the sensors, or swap all boards out too? As long as no precise soldering is needed i'm up to doing whatever! Thanks!

Maybe you should use a larger font.. and the problem is not with the CH Hardware, it is with the old Control Manager software.

Too much Jameson makes me anxious.. deleted... :D -
You don't need it for calibration either, you can easily calibrate each device in Win10. Control Panel > Devices and Printers>CH Fightersick (or Throttle or pedals)>Right Click, select game controller settings, select which you want to calibrate, select properties, Test Tab to see current actions/axis control, Settings tab to calibrate.

Maybe i'm reading it wrong, but at 36000 feet it says Mirage max. is 2.2 Mach, F-16 is 2.0+ Mach, what altitude did you test at?

Just an FYI (and maybe you can clarify what goes where), as my Toe brake pots just arrived. I wasn't sure which pot from Digikey (except throttle, which is 1040-1156-ND - REPPOT615, stamped 900-6158 1741 on the housing) went where I bought a couple of each (all in about 20 euro). All I needed was my right toebrake replaced, which was (orig. CH) stamped HP-100A 0315 on the housing. There was only one of the 3 that had a shaft matching (and pins bent 90 degrees) so I used that one. The new part number is 1040-1164-ND and is stamped HP-100A 1709. Seems to work perfectly, no more jitters and jumps. Not sure yet where 1040-1173-ND, stamped 900-615C 0537 go, have to assume as the are shorter (look just like Throttle Pot) they are for rudder and Fighterstick axis, which I will use Rel4y's new products for when available. Here is a pic of original and replacement for toe brake for future reference..

Rel4y, will the new sensors for the Pro Throttle be any different than what you have in stock now (I assumed you were just modifying the FS board/sensors?)? I want to replace it now while it's just sitting unused if possible but will wait if something better is coming soon. I sent Thomas an email also. I have no issue waiting for the new board and sensors for the Fighterstick, wish someone made a progressive spring set just a bit stronger for it, too hard to go "spring shopping" around here and Amazon is no bueno, love to mod it while it's apart.. and when will you know prices/availability on your rudder pedals, they are the one CH item I'm not in love with..
-
I finally dumped Control Manager, just too many issues and the ONLY blue screen I ever got in Win10 (twice!) was caused by CHDriver01.sys (or similar). I program using the game interfaces, calibrate in Win10, all is well...
-
Anyone know which one would be used in the toe brakes of the CH Pedals? 1040-1164-ND or 1040-1173-N? I ordered 2 of each and one for the throttle as the price is so low...

Progressive rate spnings are the way, the truth, and the light
GPatricks replied to Thasiet's topic in CH Products
Wish shopping for springs was so simple here, maybe some of my EU brethren can point me to where I can find these (online if possible) so when I open her up for Rel4y's new board and sensors... -
I cleaned and blew out the (right toe brake) pot a few times, working it full each time. It seemed a little better but quickly went back to jittering from neutral to about 10-15% application so it's gotta be changed out. As it's not as critical to be as accurate as the Stick/Throttle I guess i'll just get a replacement pot while I wait for your new stuff to be ready! :D

Great explanation, you will absolutely get a Stores Config error light on the faults panel during a Ramp start if the switch is in the incorrect position. False Stores Config light?

My first look a KB using OpenBeta and I Import a PDF and I only have the default planes (I own about 10) listed to import it into, what am I doing wrong? Set to "Custom" instead of OpenBeta, works now..

[MISSING F10 VIEW OF DAMAGE] mk82 snake eye bombing
GPatricks replied to caponi's topic in General Bugs
The CBU-100 Cluster Bomb (also called the Mk-20 Rockeye) would be a much better choice IMO, is it available? Works well on light-medium armor also.. -

Beta is a stretch, Alpha is more like it. The Radar knob does the same thing, shoots to 100%, back to 0 with slight movement. I would try it in a different plane (or game) or under a separate calibration app if possible before thinking it's a hardware issue.. -
Ok, i'll get the plain Contact Cleaner spray for now, please count me IN on the new board and sensors!

Hey rel4y, when are you coming out with a completely new base for the Fighterstick? Better gimbals, adjustable spring tension, dampening? :smartass:
