  1. Hi there, It's a combination of both, indeed on this one, you have to stay on CAP for quite some time. I'm afraid that the AI in it's wisdom are venturing too close to the SAM sites and are being picked off by the HAWK site. I'll run a test and, if there are any problems i'll try to correct it and push an update. Cheers,
  2. Caucasus, in winter, some long long time ago, before the Black Hawk got deployed. And, you know, there's no competition, just massive support from all the guys doing them.
  3. Huey is going to get a lot of love, you, Reflected and me.
  4. Yeah, it has to become second nature to babysit your wingman, but, if you think about it, good flight lead is all about that. Now, I'm sure that being a wingman you should know better, somehow the AI it's like, if i'm set for landing, I will land no matter what. The problem is that is such a complex beast, i wouldn't want to be to tangle with that code. Not to mention that nobody is going to buy more modules because DCS changed the AI.
  5. Try to make sure you are getting the trucks as well. They are all part of the same group so the SAM can re-supply. The victory condition is 80% of the whole group. It really can be done with careful bombing, have a look here: I will probably change the victory conditions at a later update if you guys struggle with it. I know in a normal SEAD mission the radars are all that matters. I was trying to reproduce what the guys that formed the YGBSM squadron were doing with the F-100 where they went for the full site.
  6. Thanks a lot for playing though it and for the feedback. I'm glad you had fun, something must've changed in the way AI does stuff, again. They are not supposed to engage or paint you with the radar. I'll test it and see what happens and push an update. Also for the M-24 i'll have to check the timing on it. When I made this campaign, you had to circle a few circuits but not a crazy amount of time, just enough to have a bit of fuel scare.
  7. I'll add the freq in the briefing and add the base feq as a preset. That night mission works up a bit of an adrenaline kick.
  8. Thanks a lot, enjoy.
  9. I'll run a test tonight to make sure it goes the way it should. Cheers,
  10. @BIGNEWY Can you please move this to the right location? Thanks a lot. @airjocky2 This campaign has it's own location on the forum, where I can monitor it and help you better. I don't want to give away any spoilers but your wingman has to snuff it. Also, you are most likely don't take enough of the adjacent units to that SAM site. You should have enough ordinance to clean the place up. Cheers, S
  11. Don't know. I wasn't expecting it at this update though. I know when Reflected submitted his and he was before this one. So, this one should be next.
  12. Briefing and kneeboard file look okay on my end. I know that if you switch between missions and you play with ME sometimes there's some weird cache and some kneeboard files are still showing from the previous missions. It happened to me a few times but I couldn't reproduce it and log it as a bug.
  13. I'll have a look at it. I wonder if something messed up in the mission or if there's a bug of some sort.
  14. It gets introduced during the campaign as a mobile TACAN as supplies make it to Krymsk, when the weather turns for the worst. I'm not going to spoil it and tell you at what mission, but it is marked in the briefings.
  15. When I made this campaign, I tried to avoid radio gymnastics, since the F-5 doesn't have a radio as capable as F-18 or F-16, pretty much all the campaign can be done without having to change the radio, except for talking to the ATC on the occasion you change the airports and you need to talk to the ATC. In 1.3 where I introduced TACAN I should have changed the kneeboards to represent that, unfortunately I have run out of time adjusting the weather and the clouds, so the kneeboards will get fixed at a next update. I don't think it takes away a whole lot from the playability of the campaign , but I know they will need to be adjusted. Cheers, Sorel
  16. I believe that's how they were designed to be released, they are probably a bit too sensitive in DCS, otherwise no pilot would have flown with all those spicy eggs underneath.
  17. All is submitted to the Eagle Dynamics team, I don't have a ETA but I'm assuming it is weeks.
  18. Just ran couple more tests and I can reproduce it quite easy, but it happens only when you have push on the stick to add nose down. I'm sure that they will say that it's a feature not a bug. With Snakeyes you should do that, you should be established in a shallow dive or straight and level. It's a common mistake to run into your own bombs in DCS. I don't know if in RL they would arm that quick, still it would cause quite some damage to run into a 500 pounder chunk of iron mid air.
  19. Just tested it. Straight and level flight is okay, as soon as you add some nose down you get blasted, the bombs hit you, it looks like the fins are deploying too early. This may be a DCS bug, I'll run some more tests and submit a bug report to them if needed. Thanks for bringing it up. I believe you can change the load-out from the mission planner, but for that mission it will be crappy to go with other bombs. Sorry about that.
  20. I think that the logic of the AWACS items in DCS is a bit different than what we expect. By default it looks like it will give you information on new contacts and in change of target aspect. So if a bogey comes to you, and you get a call when he is 40 miles or so and there is no change in heading and altitude, you will not get an update unless you request bogey dope. However, if a contact is orbiting 60-70 miles away, you will get calls for that every time they change direction. so your SA goes to total crap. Unfortunately, with the tools in hand we can't have something that will act like a GCI, where you get BRAA and also the proper vectors to intercept and to intercept on a proper attack curve. I'm tinkering with some ideas on how to script this but so far nothing too good came out of it, and also, even if this would be possible, there would be so much change in verbiage as a 3rd part dev I won't be able to do it, and i don't think ED has a public API for the voices yet. But it would be nice for the F-5 and Mig-21 and the rest of the Red airforce to have that kind of feature, to be talked on to intercepting a target. Huey is in my plans, it could fit in the same scenario with the Black Sea Resolve. I'll milk that 1979 as much as I can.
  21. Thanks a lot man. How good you are with the Harrier?
  22. Probably another case of AI doing whatever they are not supposed to do. I swear sometimes I wish I could sprinkle them with holy water or something, they act like they are possessed.
  23. Probably re-arming is the one that messes it up. As the final score is given to you as you land. I've never tested this with refuel and rearming as it would take a tad more time to do it in real time. As for the RTB. Some missions will have an RTB message where there are units that can do BDA and send you home. But, as it would happen in RL there are a lot of missions where you go home and wait for the results. It's a hard one to balance, some people want more guidance through this some don't want any at all.
