  1. Well assuming it's split into early / mid / late, then 'early' Autumn ends on October 22nd.
  2. TCTS pod - you can actually fit one ingame to the Hornet. It's a ACMI pod, used for combat training - just for show ingame as you can use Tacview whether you've got it attached or not.
  3. I've played exclusively in MP and exclusively in VR for a couple of years now, don't see any reason to change. I get a smooth framerate on DDCS, which is probably one of the most unit-heavy MP servers.
  4. The Marines normally put the Litening on the centre-line station:
  5. So one thing that might affect the answer here, is that the bomb doesn't *need* to see the laser when / before it drops - it only needs to see it 15-20 seconds before impact so it can guide onto the target. So if you're using a JTAC/Predator that's next to the target, then your range is essentially just how far that bomb can fly and still hit the target. If you're high enough and fast enough, you should be able to chuck a GBU-12/16/10 20-35nm. Even if you're self-designating, then the answer isn't technically 8nm either - the laser designator just has to be within 8nm of the target when the bomb is nearly at the target, you could lob it from 15nm and still be within 8nm before the bomb hits.
  6. Pretty sure that's how it works now - you can box JDAM/JSOW on the ground as soon as it's equipped and it'll start aligning. You can then select AG mode without losing the selection on the stores page.
  7. I've had two TWCS throttles so far and both have had the same thing - looks like the sensors in the paddles are just trash.
  8. In most MP scenarios there are limited numbers of alternate airfields, and with the JSOW-C there have been occasions I've experienced where *every* available airfield has been rendered inoperable - runways, taxiways and apron, all bombed. The mission isn't 'won', the scenario continues, but one team can't take off - in that instance the only option available to server owners is to restart the server (and then ban weapons / behaviour) even if they'd rather add in a repair mechanic. Yep though unfortunately it's a bit hit and miss which modules can drive on the grass - the F-14 gets stuck for example. I've never seen it happen - you might be remembering the behaviour from before the damage was synced. In those days (i.e. before 6 or so months ago) all you needed to do as a client was disconnect and reconnect from the server for the airfield to be repaired from your perspective.
  9. The Odyssey file is in your users/saved game/dcs folder - should be at the bottom called 'Windows Mixed Realityetcetcetc.etc'. I'm guessing that's messed up your DCS - try deleting it and restarting the game.
  10. You can only tag two contacts in LTWS, L&S and DT2 - the image says three. It'll probably over-complicate it, but if you've got the JHMCS on then you've got HACQ & LACQ modes as well.
  11. Recently ED fixed a bug where runway damage was not synced between the host and clients in multiplayer. This means that now when someone bombs a runway during a multiplayer session, the runway is bombed for everyone and, if it's damaged enough, the airport is rendered inoperable. This has introduced some interesting new gameplay, but it has one big downside - there's no way to repair an airfield during a multiplayer session so if someone bombs the runway in the first 10 minutes of a six hour server session, then it stays inoperable for six hours. The only solution currently is to restart the server. That downside has caused lots of servers to either ban certain weapons (e.g. the JSOW-C) or to outright ban the tactic. It would be useful if ED could add into the API the ability for mission designers / server owners to trigger the runway to be repaired.
  12. Congratulations - that was the exact point I was making.
  13. Heavily WIP - it's not worked correctly for a long time. They said they'd fix it later on.
  14. Reported it around the time they stopped engaging: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=242191
  15. If you have two bombs per rack then you simply designate the TOO, switch to PP mode to designate PP1, then change to PP2, go back to TOO, designate a new target, go to PP mode to transfer the coordinates to PP2. That'll give you two different targets for PP1 and PP2 on the same rack. Repeat that for all racks, then set all racks to PP1, pickle 4x once you're in range, then for each subsequent pickle (e.g. bombs 5-8 ) select PP2 before you pickle. You should have 8 bombs hitting 8 targets.
  16. Wondering if I can get an answer on this from the resident experts here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=242370 If a block 40 CCIP Viper can carry laser mavericks in 2007, does that mean a block 50 CCIP Viper should be able to?
  17. This might have changed, but Deka have previously said the J-11A is only included in FC3 as a test and may be removed at a later date if they improve the avionics. Source (uboats08 is in Deka):
  18. It supposedly only captures the game window.
  19. The burst height is set physically on the bomb, the HT setting on the stores page is just to make the avionics match the bomb's settings so your CCIP/AUTO drop are in the right place. The bomb is supposedly set to 1500 and Wags has said that we always have to set the HT to 1500 to match. Changing the HT to a different figure will just make your bomb inaccurate, and not change the burst height.
  20. As you can see from the twitch video - this isn't a case of units taking marginal damage from the missile, it's that the missile hits, detonates, but the units take no damage. Their health bars are still at 100%, as though the missile never even happened.
  21. It's also not showing even when a donor is saying the Hornet is friendly. So seems like there's two things here - a bug (Hornet designated friendly by an AWACS on datalink doesn't have the hemisphere) and a question (should a Hornet show the hemisphere if it's just you and him, both with datalink on?).
  22. You might want to sit down for this... https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3981645&postcount=44
  23. Think he actually is, but it's filmed from the back seat of an F/A-18F. There's a good analysis of the trailer here:
  24. They look like GBU-24s to me.
  25. Okay think we're all getting confused by the F5 - the F5 was only there to show that the hemisphere shows correctly for non-donors. It's not being used to 'mark a Hornet friendly' at all - the AWACs is doing that for both aircraft! Try this: Add a player Hornet to a mission Add an AWACs nearby Add a friendly Hornet 25nm in front of your player Hornet Lock the Hornet and watch Expect: The hemisphere to appear and to stay visible Observe: The hemisphere appears before the Hornet starts donating on Link-16, and disappears when it starts
