  1. It's still WIP - you can enter coordinates but it doesn't make a steer point you can use with anything, doesn't appear on the HSD and you can't slave the TGP to it.
  2. There's one other way - once it's slewed to the waypoint if you press TMS Aft it'll boresight the TGP and you can then use the icon on the HUD to find a target and slew from there. So even if your waypoint is nowhere near your target, you can still use the TGP.
  3. It's switching off when you press DMS FWD/AFT. Press either again to bring it back.
  4. It'd be really handy to be able to move the throttle to idle by clicking it. The exact functionality I'm asking for is currently implemented in the F-14 - rather than having to bind / press the keyboard bindings for idle after initial engine start, you just click the top of the throttle and it moves to idle. The keyboard binding is a bit tricky to use in VR and it'd be better not to use a HOTAS binding for something you only need once a flight. Being able to click it is really handy and hopefully a simple quality of life improvement for the F-16 (and Hornet if you can add it there too)!
  5. MFDs are unreadable without zoom here on a Samsung Odyssey, very fuzzy. I've got prescription inserts too so not an eyesight thing.
  6. You've not been jammed by a player's Hornet - it doesn't have a working jammer.
  7. The updates normally land between 1200-1500GMT. It's currently 5:41am in Moscow, I wouldn't expect anything to happen for quite a few hours.
  8. The USAF don't use the Mk83 variants on the F-16 apparently (they didn't on the A-10C either which is why that doesn't have any) - the Hornet's meant to get the GBU-32 later on.
  9. Can you explain what Mode 1-3 represent in the JF-17? From the wikipedia definition, you'd expect Mode 1-3 to come back as a mismatch for lots of friendlies because mode 1 is the mission type and other friendlies might be on a different mission, and mode 2 is the code for your tail number which should be unique, and mode 3 is assigned by the ground controller / is used to provide altitude information. Or is there a different definition in the JF-17?
  10. There's text from an interview with the SD-10's deputy chief designer floating around in the recesses of the internet (it's quite old and I think the primary source / where it was first transcribed has disappeared), where the designer says the SD-10 should perform between the 120B and 120C: Best source I can find for it right now is here: https://forums.voz.vn/showthread.php?t=3233336&page=21
  11. Markpoints are described in the NATOPS, but I don't think there's the behaviour you're describing. From memory, if you don't have a target, pressing the markpoint button stores your current aircraft location as a new markpoint, but if you have a target (e.g. you've made a target with your TDC or AG radar or pressed WPDSG), then pressing the markpoint button stores the target location as a new markpoint. It didn't describe any HOTAS controls for making a markpoint - you have to press the MK# button on the HSI/SA page.
  12. If we have to choose, I much prefer it this way than before with the spurious warnings.
  13. I've voted in this one (Defense systems), but if we can make requests for future videos - I'm really interested in seeing the GMTI AG radar mode and the BRM-1 90mm laser guided rockets, would love a video on those.
  14. 1:27 in the video
  15. It's a bit ambiguously worded - does initial mean it'll be there for EA release?
  16. Guessing it'll be handled the same way it would with the F-14, Mirage and F-5 (i.e. it won't). It might be time to add the ability for the online JTACs to switch laser codes - I don't think any of the major servers are using ED's JTAC for this anyway, so probably best asking Ciribob if he can add that into CTLD or something.
  17. Those aren't DCS specific reasons - the US didn't use the CBU-97 with their Hornets. If you can find anything showing they did, I'm sure ED would happily add it.
  18. Bit disingenuous there... The winner of the poll was the ATFLIR targeting pod, right enough - but that's because the Litening TGP wasn't an option because it wasn't being offered. The TGP won that poll and in response ED moved things around and decided to give us the Litening TGP which we got in July. I'm sure if they re-ran that poll the ATFLIR wouldn't be top of the list any more.
  19. Feed is tank 2, can see that on this screen shot:
  20. The other hole is that the AIM-7 Rne cues are as wildly optimistic as the AIM-120.
  21. Pretty simple - you can see from Wags' updates that there's been one coder working on the majority of the weapons (Mavs, LGBs, JDAMs, JSOWs, Harpoon and now the Walleye). The Walleye is a pretty sensible stepping stone to the SLAM/SLAM-ER, so makes sense that he's on that next. There is a completely separate guy working on TWS (he's the one that did LTWS and MSI). They've had four people working on the Hornet all tackling different things at the same time, just because two people have been shifted off doesn't mean that the other two stop work - it also doesn't make sense to hold off on releasing the Walleye just because everyone wants TWS next.
  22. Rne is meant to represent the range at which even if the target turns and flies directly away from you, the missile would have enough energy to reach them (and so they need to defeat the missile with countermeasures, beaming or terrain etc). So it shouldn't matter what happens after the missile is fired, if they were within Rne when you launched, then the missile should be capable of reaching them with enough energy to manoeuvre when it gets to them. Its been wrongly displayed since the beginning (fire a missile at Rne and it'll run out of energy and stall long before catching the enemy if they fly away). I've reported it as a bug with tracks a couple of times but it has been ignored - I suspect it's one of the aspects of the sim that ED is deliberately getting wrong so as to obscure the true performance of the aircraft.
