Can you see it when you select LAN? I can't see my server on my own network if I select Internet but can when I select LAN. I don't know if this is expected behaviour or not. I used to host the very occasional MP session while I flew and friends were able to connect - I bought another copy of A-10C when it was on a Steam sale and just moved the port forwards over to the new address. I'll have to get one of them to see if they can see the dedicated server I set up next time.

I've set up a Predator as an AFAC, works really well but as you've been advised, their path isn't controllable by a human but runs on the pre-determined waypoints designated by the mission designer. Love to be able to have a UAV view though - and hopefully control it.

Another 'cheat' is in the F10 map, if you click on an enemy vehicle (if they show up in F10) it'll have the co-ordinates in the bottom left (IIRC). You can then punch in the L/L into the CDU, create a mission steerpoint and slave your sensors to it - it won't put you dead on but it'll be in the general direction in that I'll find the targets most of the time using the TGP pretty quickly. There's also bullseye calls from allied AI aircraft that can be plugged into the offset page on the CDU. There's a thread on Sim-HQ entitled 'How to enter co-ordinates into your CDU' which shows you how to enter UTM from JTAC or L/L from the F10 map.

I had exactly the same problem. I'm using G25 pedals as my rudder which the game interpreted as having Force Feedback capabilities. When I turned it FF off, I was able to trim the aircraft. Ninja'd.

Thanks for that, enlightened a lot more than just how JTAC works.

Shouldn't do. I bought an additional copy of A-10C so I could run a dedicated World server on a second machine. Installed A-10C through Steam, ran it, closed it, installed World and the 1.2 A-10C add-on and all seems to have worked.

Make them neutral?

Unsure if this is the right place but I'll try anyway.. Trying to get mobile JTAC set up so that it can be moved in CA, spot enemy locations and call in strikes. Unfortunately, my JTAC is blind then he goes AWOL. I set up a small mission where the JTAC is close to the first enemy vehicle and he seems to be able to see him since it comes up on the minimap but then advises he has no targets. After that, he is no longer contactable by radio even if I move him to the second location to spot another target. Any advice on how to get this to work? Thanks. Test JTAC.miz

Seems to be the case based on the SimHQ interview with Wags. Original group tasked with putting out the map went under, ED picked it back up and basically started from scratch to put out something that hopefully exceeds what we originally flew over.

Look forward to writing my name on it using a GAU. ;)

It should be attached to my last message.. thanks.

This is as simple as it gets but I can't seem to get it to work here. Can see the first unit since I have fog of war going and it won't call out the contact. Using CA, I move the HMV so it's in sight of the 2nd vehicle and it also comes up on my F10 map but in the JTAC radio, Axeman is no longer available. Thanks. Test JTAC.miz

Fair enough. I'll start one from scratch - I was setting up what I thought was exactly the same in the fast mission and I moved the FAC so it was within meters of an enemy tank but it wouldn't call out the contact and the contact wouldn't show up on F10. Only way I could get the FAC to work was within the Fast Mission and all the options were set the same as far as I could tell in my mission. AFAC worked fine straight away but you can't control those in CA which is what I would like to be able to do. Thanks for the tips guys.

Hey guys, working with Kos a little and also trying to get the hang of JTAC. I used a Fast Mission creation and fiddled with the JTAC. It called out two groups for me then advised that it had no more tasking. From that point it appeared to drop off and not be contactable even though I moved it into the vicinity of more potential targets. Once the JTAC advises of no more tasking, is that it for that JTAC? Is there any way to wake them back up?
-
I do the same with 'Create Fast Mission' and even though the AI have built in waypoints, I pretty much take control of my force and leave the enemy to pass through their paths. As soon as it loads I zoom right in so I don't really notice where the enemy is headed. Love the Create Fast Mission option.

Having Issues with JTAC and radios overall

Oh, nice. Are there any links or hints about how you can make JTAC work independently? If I'm using CA and I move a JTAC, can you get it to call targets from the new location? Thanks. -

In World, does JTAC have to have targets assigned in the mission editor first or is it more autonomous now and will select targets based on visual ID? -
I have tried fiddling with it but not extensively. Since I tend to play a lot during daytime hours now, I might have more of a play with it today. Thanks.

Do you *need* it? No. I can't use mine in daylight hours because the TIR camera picks up speckles of sunlight and my display twists and turns like crazy. Do no dogfighting in an A-10C - where it really shines. Should you get one? YES. The immersion factor is 10x+. It does help your orientation when running in.

I can see my second GTX570 being utilised by DCS, unsure if it provides any benefit though.

I get the same problem with Chrome too. Doesn't seem to want to keep me logged in. I purchased through IE.

I keep my sim stuff organised so all my ED sims sit in the root of Eagle Dynamics on my G drive but "DCS World" is a subdir inside that. Affected by the bug?

Picked up a copy so I can use it as a module on my server so I can get my P-51D back. ;)

Why should i get Combined Arms? I need a bit of convincing!
Purg replied to MadTommy's topic in DCS: Combined Arms
It just adds a whole new dynamic to the battlefield. Instead of relying on mission creators to set arbitrary waypoints so that forces meet someone in the middle - particularly if you're playing force on force - you can now command units on where to move, where to strike and not know what the enemy may well be planning. Much better for an A-10C pilot to have a raging war underneath you and actually make a difference for a win than to take off from A, bomb B, land C. Prior to CA, there really was no conclusion to a battle for me. I flew a mission, if I had a successful strike on the targets I was assigned then I was satisfied I did my job. Now with an active, controllable ground force, where I strike can make an actual difference.
