Same with the KA-50 in the Rift. I'd suggest that it's probably common across all aircraft.

Are you sure you're using the right zoom? I was setting up the old zoom but it's all within the UI Interface. You assign it to whatever you want then hold it in to zoom. I'd prefer it be a toggle as the way I have it set up seems to stop me from firing guns. The view is a little odd how it sort of does a fish lens, otherwise it works well. I'd like an option to toggle head tracking cursor so I can utilise the left and right clicks within the UI. As it is, I have to take my hand off the stick, move my mouse to get the cursor up then quickly select what I want before the cursor fades. Is there a way to toggle the cursor on/off and respond to head tracking? For the most part, the new VR changes have made the game much more VR friendly.

You seem to be able to setup any key as a modifier. Just go into the modifiers section in the setup screen where you configure your assignments (I think it's at the bottom left IIRC). I setup my pinky switch on my Warthog as a modifier, works perfectly.

Same issue inside the cockpit of the A-10C, when you move forward it doesn't move 1:1 it's as if you move in both the X axis and Y axis. Not enough incentive for me to roll back, though. Kneeboard works!!! F10 still seems to have issues. Not seeing the terrain but only had a quick look. I've been unable to get zoom to work on anything but outside views. I was under the impression they would work similarly to the way it used to work prior to VR. Perhaps I was mistaken? Had to implement the fix as per SkateZilla's post otherwise the menu disappeared when I backed out of it and was left alone, in the hangar. :(

It should be able to. I have a GTX780 and according to the ingame fps counter, I get 90fps in 1.5.3 in a KA-50 while doing a startup procedure. Haven't really checked the frames elsewhere since it seems smooth flying around. Waiting for the 1080 to come out before I really start having a go.

Montify, that does look pretty neat. Thanks Skatezilla, hoping it gets addressed. Good to have a manual to glance at while trying to learn a new aircraft. PITA to do it while wearing a VR HMD.

Hi, Having problems seeing the kneeboard [R-Shift K?] in VR. I'm presuming that it's not outputting to the Rift screen but likely to the 1920x1080 screen that is configured in settings. Gone are the days of being able to have the pdf on a tablet or second screen to glance at. Would like to be able to have the manual on the kneeboard to see if it's at least usable/readable. Anyone got it working, if so, how? Thanks.

Same experience here. I noticed so many new things in the cockpit that I never did on a flat screen. Even looking at a simple switch or a button - hey, they look like real switches! In the A-10C, something you can see on a flat screen is how the ADI sits in it's housing. Mind blown when I saw that on my first jaunt. First thing I did when friends came over to check it out was to load up DCS, close their eyes while they put on the headset, hit num-5 to center and get them to open up. Most of them were astonished, one of them freaked out. She was scared of heights and felt real 'presence'.

Had my Rift for a few days. First thing I loaded after the Home demo was DCW2 and the Mirage. It just blew my mind. I have a GTX780 and at times my frames drop into the 40's but you wouldn't know it from the cockpit. The head tracking is so smooth. I've since jumped in a few more pits, you notice all those little things you never did before that just adds to the experience. The textures pop, the switches look like actual switches. Even the ADI in the A-10C, the ball is 3D, you can see the gap in the internal housing where it sits.

I wonder how this would work with an IHADSS if something like the Apache ever gets modelled. I seem to recall that one of the biggest challenges pilots faced was getting used to the info coming into one eye while being able to simultaneously focus on everything else.

Thanks Roie - your videos alone are what's keeping me hyped getting mine. We've had nothing but problems getting them into Australia (customs are currently holding them up) beyond the delays from Oculus. I've been trickling your videos to friends, and they've been universally well received.

The Ultimate Argument Campaign - DLC for Su27
Purg replied to Lino_Germany's topic in Su-27 The Ultimate Argument Campaign
Good to see a 3rd party campaign. Don't fly the SU-27 but bought it to encourage others to do the same. Also good to see that module manager detected my purchase and opted to install. Nice work ED. -
As others, I don't use CA to occupy ground vehicles but to direct them to where I want them to go. In MP, the few times I was in a mission with friends PvP, it made the battlefield a lot more alive when both sides directed their ground troops to accomplish a mission. Instead of relying on a mission builder to direct ground forces in a pre-determined way - or as most missions do, just have them as static targets in an area, you're free to move them as you so wish.
-
Been waiting for this feature for a long time. Don't have the Beta but when they RTB, do they refuel/rearm or just land?
-
Even though you pulled the trigger, it adds so much more to be able to direct ground forces while you're in the air. It's just a shame that the opposing AI doesn't react other than returning fire. Would be very cool if you could place opposition down, give them an objective and they would act autonomously.

I couldn't tell you which 1.2.4 version contained the hotfix but I definitely saw the bug that you're seeing on 1.2.4 release and it was acknowledged and fixed a patch or two later. Only tested for a short period with a couple of missions but was able to assign targets fine where it would have CTD'ed on 1.2.4 release. 1.2.5 will likely solve your issue.
-
Are you running the latest version? Was having the problems too but one of the later hotfixes solved it for me.
-
None, sadly. Would appear possible from the patch notes but I can't find anywhere in the UI to do it.

Posted in the CA forum but don't know if it's seen by anyone in the dev team. 1.2.4 added the ability based on the patch notes. • "F10" view. AI aircraft can now land based on ground force commander commands. But I've been unable to find where to instruct AI how to land. How do you do it?

A-10C is study sim nirvana. A-10A is sim lite. I've got 100+ hours just trying to learn some of the systems in the A-10C so I can bear guns on baddies, there's so much more for me to learn if I wanted to.

Tried twice, when adding targets to AI aircraft in CA, immediate crash to desktop. Click on the A10, assign it a target and crash. Anyone else experiencing this? Test.miz

It will RTB if you assign targets and it's completed the task assigned. It will then land, park and jump out of the cockpit - it's actually quite neat to watch. Would love an option to rearm/refuel - would make a server with only a couple of people come to life if you could direct air and ground assets on each side with attrition. If you assign a waypoint, I don't know of any way to delete that waypoint. It'll just orbit there. Requires more fiddling. I'm loving the direction CA is taking and it really does bring the battlefield to life when you can task AI flights and move ground forces. You don't need to rely on a mission designer to do anything more than provide you an objective. Command your own forces to achieve it.

With the flights I was co-ordinating, they had no waypoints. I wanted them to start on from the ramp so that players could assign them waypoints and targets as needed and for the most part it works, they just orbit on the last waypoint you assign them or RTB and shut down if they've destroyed their assigned target. RTB, Rearm/Refuel and have them sit on the ramp waiting for further orders would be excellent.
