Sooooo, glad I sprung for a 1 TB SSD

Interesting, I had done that on a Cougar I owned prior to moving to the Warthog....... definitely took some getting use to! I went ahead and ordered a new TM Warthog HOTAS since mine was aging and had other issues including the throttle but thanks to all for your feedback!

Thanks for the link!

Here is a picture after I took it apart again and tried to fix my mistake, kinda hard to tell but 2 wires have flat marks on them and one is the ground.
-
I checked the stick and the ground, from the factory, is attached to the center screw under the main cable, hard to see but it's there. I'm pretty sure that I flattened 2 wires when I reassembled incorrectly after lubing the knuckle so good chance that is it. The wires were intact but clearly marked or flattened in one area. Thanks for the response!

So, I removed the base but have no idea which is the electronic breaker that may be bad.... Anyone out there see anything that may help bring the stick back to life?

Thanks for your feedback SilentWarrior! Interesting point you make and it is a good possibility especially since I cannot see any physical damage to the wiring or other components. I'll take a look and see if I can save my stick..... Thanks again!

Hmmm, sounds like I’m better off with my CH Fighter stick and throttle

Hi All, I recently lost Win10 contact with my Warthog Stick that was purchased in 2011. I opened it to lubricate the ball joint and and something went wrong.... rip. I'm debating buying another TM Warthog setup but was wondering how the new Warthogs have been holding up? I know that TM will be coming out with an F/A-18 stick but not sure if it's a stand alone or has an option to come with a throttle..... my throttle still works for the most part but I'm sure it's days are numbered. Any thoughts to offer?

+1 Agreed and appreciate all the effort!

Any CH Product profiles for F18 yet?

Thanks for the replies! I just ran home for lunch and will try a couple suggestions before pulling it apart again.

Hi Everyone, I'm a longtime simmer and TM Warthog owner since 2011, been out of it for several years though. I've created a problem with the stick and hoping someone here may have a solution. With the release of F/A-18 I've jumped back in and felt that my Warthog stick was finally in need of lubrication since I've never done it before. I found a simple guide online and removed the stick handle and carefully took it apart to the point where the ball joint was exposed. I pulled the top part off with a bit of force being careful not to screw up the wires. I cleaned and lubricated the ball joint as best I could, fed the wires back into the slot and pressed the knuckle back together and re-assembled. I now have a stick with smoother movement and the axis works in the sim but none of the buttons or switches work. - I tried removing and re-attaching the stick a couple of times but no luck. - I removed the base and verified that everything was connected and the wires were intact. - Rebooted PC, opened a Windows 10 (64 home ver) Joystick window and when I move the stick on the axis it shows but all of the button lights go on. When the stick is still the button lights are off but nothing happens when I press a button. So.......... did I kill my stick or is there a solution? I appreciate in advance and assistance you can offer. Thanks, Doug

Nice, thanks for putting that together and sharing!

Thanks for your feedback.. Question, do you feel the need to get all sections committed to memory like communications or the various Nav modes? Just curious how much training is suggested for sub systems versus actual combat.... thanks again!

Hey all, in the interest of knowing how to get (back) into simming the right way for noobs as well as those of us who have been out of it for years. Please share your recommended steps to learning an aircraft (kinda from a VFW perspective).... in other words, what do VFW or sim trainers have new virtual pilots learn from the start on to being competent enough to enjoy the sim and do some serious damage? I'm just trying to start a nice thread that may be helpful to people new to DCS or serious simming get the most out of their experience. Thanks in advance! :smartass:

I'm just coming back after a few years of no DCS so please pardon my ignorance..... I have my Nevada Serial number as an A10 beta buyer from July 2010 but you are saying we can't download the map until a later date? If so, is the ETA for d/l November? No rush since I have to relearn everything but it would be cool! Thanks -
This looks very interesting as I too am a space junky, for me it is the X Universe. I'm looking forward to future development and plan on participating in the Kickstarter!

I sure will! It'll be fun and have some awesome graphics to boot!!
