  1. Thanks for the info
  2. As Art-J has mentioned, the visible front of the engine is the Compressor front frame, which has the inlet guide vanes, and does not spin. The rotor discs are behind along with the stator blades in the compressor case.
  3. Just checking in, how are things going with this?
  4. No more protected than your car. If it’s inclement weather, canopies are closed until aircrew arrival, and opened by ground crew. The canopy remains open only as long as it has to be, for crew boarding, and strap in, pin stowage. Yes, you might get a good soaking if the rain is coming from anywhere other than 6 o’clock. but hey-ho!
  5. Agree it’s not the mirrors, however that is not what I said. It is only the Pilot model (assume G.I.B also?), and only in the F-4.
  6. Great machine in a stunning colour.
  7. Is this something that can be rectified? Of the other modules I possess, none exhibit any lag of the visible head in mirrors, so as far as can see this only afflicts the F-4. I vaguely recall in a post (that I can no longer find) someone posted text from a HB dev (?) regarding the in cockpit stick, or part of - lagging behind actual stick movement, reason being that in time movement exhibits shaking, that the small lag eradicates? Could the reason for the crew lag be the same, and only on the F-4?
  8. Your sea level pressure is a bit high!! Think (hope) you mean millibars!
  9. Have not tried the mission mentioned, but what could be the issue is sun positioning. Are you lining up with the sun at your back? Ideally you need some target shadow visible for the Maverick to chew on in a warm scene, so coming out of near sun could hinder you. At night the generally cooler scene will allow a more significant target stand out. Daytime you need to help it by orientation, giving the seeker the best possible.
  10. Absolutely superb, kudos.
  11. Ahhh . . . Forgot to mention I’m an idiot.
  12. Sorry to hear that, your RC-135 is a permanent fixture in ALL missions I work on. It is sublime. Should you permanently retire from modding, I wish you well in your future endeavours, and thank you immensely for that which you have provided for us mere mortals.
  13. Firstly, I admire your dedication. Secondly, unfortunately there is no global map, so flights out of the extended limits of each map is impossible. But even then, 21000 NM is quite something!
  14. A terrible time. Myself and my (now ex) wife had a front row seat, we had seen Michael Jackson in Madison square garden the night before, and were spending the following day in and around the city before coming back to the UK. Horrific. We didn’t see the first airliner although we heard it impact from where we were strolling in Brooklyn bridge park, across the water from the towers. A little while later we saw the second airliner come in from the SW and then hit. The disbelief that all people near us had, that this was a horrific accident when the first aircraft hit, was quickly turned to realisation that this is something a lot more serious when the second was seen. A few days later, everyone was talking about the events, and as one old foreigner said - “we are all American now . . . “ That stuck with me, as it seemed somewhat apt. It was in effect an attack on all of us. Terrible. We will never, ever forget.
  15. That’s a scary way of doing things! Yikes. Id love to know what type he’s “click-flying”. You can’t click your way out of a wind shear, and a sudden reversal of wind component (not uncommon) would be eye-watering. Hope his flight suit is already brown? edit - I’m on my lunch break so could ponder this for a moment. I take it he’s only trimming on final, not down to flare? That’s reasonable. As long as he is still covering the stick . . . .
  16. A literal minefield! Jeez, I don’t envy your optimisation people. Stress!!!
  17. There’s quite a few threads discussing performance, which I genuinely find surprising. I guarantee everyone here has a system that will beat the cr*p out of mine, yet I don’t have any issues that others describe. My card for instance is an Nvidia GeForce 1070. Old. And I’m on an HDD. Could there be a thing with higher spec cards? I’ll admit, I’m older than dirt, and really don’t know a whole lot with regards to bang-whizz specs, but I’m really shocked that these issues are cropping up for those of you with PC’s that could make NASA weep.
  18. You’re asking him to know the full story when you are only letting him glance at the book cover. He needs details, as he asked, provided by a track that can be picked apart, and likely show exactly where things are not as they should be. Just not interested to provide one, or is that pointless to even bother?
  19. Do you have the specific tail you’re after? The community at large can be a wonderful thing. It may be a case of sorting the wheat from the chaff, but someone may be able to find what eludes you by thinking outside the box.
  20. I did have similar issues, but I adjusted my FPS from 140, down to 50. Still fluid to the eye, loads faster, no issues since. Hardly notice any difference. Worked for me. What FPS do you set your DCS to?
  21. For me it happens on the first run. I only get time to sim relatively infrequently, so only launch once. It doesn’t really affect anything (that I can tell). Thanks for the insight chap.
  22. I’ve only had this “thing” pop up in the last 3 or 4 days , I’m sure I updated to the latest a while before though, with no Bad effect. I take it that it’s not really anything to be concerned about though, just a minor annoyance?
  23. Same here, must admit - I’m not the most computer savvy, I wondered what in the heck I broke!?! No idea as to what it refers to. (apologies for the photo, iPhone - say no more!)
