Not sure what it is, but it can be seen on other maps also. Seen frequently on NTTR (generally out to the north west), occasionally on Caucasus, P.G. Haven't noticed it (yet!) on other map areas.

Chris Rock is in the canyon??

Beautiful.

Agree also. The CH-47D would have been the preferred model were it up to me. I’m firmly set in the steam gauge era, I have enough troubles with my laptop to prove it! My PC fares only slightly better, my son is my “tech guy” and can vouch for that. And don’t get me started on his bloody Tesla! I remember when cars were cars, not laptops with wheels.

A little bedtime reading . . . ARN37654-ATP_1-02.1-000-WEB-1.pdf

No photographic proof, but I do know that Saudi Charlie’s used them routinely (GW1/ODS). May not have been stars’n’bars - but the C model can certainly use them, and did on combat ops. They can be uploaded/downloaded in under 20 minutes on the line. Used to know a couple Bolars years ago, who were quizzed about the reasons behind CFT removal when crossing the pond for PDM - they said it was to enable higher transit flights, with lower fuel burn values.

Has your anti virus updated? Make sure you set an exclude in your anti virus that stops it from interfering with the whole ED folder.

An option for AI right-hand turns (racetracks/orbits)?
G.J.S replied to cpeterbrockwell's topic in Wish List
Tanker orbit tracks can use both left and right hand turns, however left hand are the more normal due to basic physical geometry of the pilot. Its easier to make slight small adjustments when pushing the whole forearm over to the left, versus the right. A way to test is load up your favourite helicopter, and set the centre point of the stick so when you are say 5 or more degrees stick right, the sim thinks it’s vertical. Now maintain a stable hover with the stick deflected to the right as its central point. Then repeat with the same but at left. You will find it easier with it at left when using your right arm. -
Any Aardvark news? An eagerly awaited type for many people.

Good to know, if only you were around when I converted onto type in 1986 - 87 .

Find Jester quite funny, but his ar5e doesn’t belong in an F-4. Think he comes from a 737 or something. Accepted technique was on tone for last 200 ish feet alt before touchdown, and NO FLARE. The initial kiss of the runway will scrub a few knots off due to the firm arrival without flaring. Of course, should the runway be extremely long - or a large base with an airshow, or a Jag base (lol), then there should be so much runway left that you can flare and grease it on to your hearts content. But if length may be an issue (giggedy), then the normal landing was as described - very firm. She has naval bones after all . . .

Agreed. Hopefully no news is good news? It’s a spare time thing for the guy though, if it surfaces, it will be when it’s ready.

T-38A Talon - Community Mod by Veco Simulations
G.J.S replied to Copprhead's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
Certainly a developer to keep a keen eye on. The teams progress has thus far been stellar. Onward and upward!- 90 replies

I can certainly see the appeal of a few Turkish bases to reinvigorate the Caucasus, unfortunately I doubt very much it would happen. Very good idea though.

Haven’t found this specific issue elsewhere, but likely may tie in with other threads regarding AI not doing what they are supposed to be doing. Since roughly a month ago, I have noticed that AI air units - regardless of type - don’t adhere to the “Escort” function. I may or may not have been doing it correctly before, but I used to be able to create a flight in the ME and give it a route (this is the unit to be escorted), and then assign a unit to escort - by giving it a start location (typically from ground parking), and then giving the task “Escort”, selecting the specific aircraft to be escorted, and adjusting the parameters (relative position from aircraft to be escorted, distance within for enemy engagement etc). And it would work every time, the escort aircraft will get aloft and slot into position, engaging when enemy come within a set distance. Lately, any unit given an escort tasking will either remain in the parking spot, or get airborne and RTB. Anybody else noticed this? Happy to blame it on age if that’s what it is! But not a clue otherwise . . . Thanks for reading this far.

You’re fighting his fight, not yours. Use the F-14’s strengths to capitalise on your opponent’s shortcomings. Where the F-14 could be inferior to your opponent is territory you should avoid if at all possible. Always fight YOUR fight - not his . . .

Indeed. It would be like watching a mouse try to rape an elephant . . .

During my own use, if there IS any performance loss, it is so small as to be negligible. But that’s just my own observation.

They are missing a trick if they don’t! Bandits work is nothing short of incredible. The ‘feel’ of the environment with any of his presets is much more natural, and shows just how ‘gamey’ the ED sets are. Bandits sets are much more believable, and I’m not too shy to admit - I have been driving home from work before and thought to myself whilst looking above the traffic ahead “hmmm . . . Bandits Cirrocumulus . . . “. This is a shining example of what a talented individual who really understands their subject, can produce. And we ALL benefit from it. Really can’t praise this Mod highly enough.

Another “must have” quality of sim addition. Starting to be a few must have’s now, this - Bandits weather mod, Bartheks texture work, all add quality to the sim. Outstanding work Sir.

As in heavily angled ones, like the F-22?
