Easy. The F14 isn't a true multirole plane. And the F15e is years away. The F/A 18 is available now. So this is the only real option.its the best parts of both the 14 and 15e rolled into one. You also don't need a second person to fly it properly. Plus if the F15e or F16 ever come out I think the transistion will be easy from the f/a18 since it's dropping the same weapons.

I'm a huge TNG fan. It's such an insightful show. Gene Roddenberry in his finest. I appreciate the original series but it's a little on the nose, I much prefer The Twilight Zone from that time frame of TV. DS9 has a good opening but falls very fast to soap opera in space. It has been greatly simplified to appeal to a wider audience. And Voyager while some of the episode ideas are interesting the characters feel like living cartoons.

That's not a fair response. I suggested waiting only 6 months because Gen 1 hardware is approaching the end of its life cycle. In no way did I suggest to wait until the technology is perfect. Very disappointed to see so many people here fanboi'ing VR so much that they would want someone to buy Gen 1 hardware this close to Gen 2. That's just bad advice for technology in any circumstance. I'm not saying don't buy VR. I'm saying VR is great. Just wait a while to get a better experience unless you want to upgrade within 12 months. :thumbup:

I hope these are good. There is a gap in the market for accurate pedals at a reasonable price point. Vkb are currently the only ones. And they are great, but no tow brakes (not big deal tbh).

They are adequate for fixed wing in general, but for accurate cannon for onto ground targets (e.g. With the A-10) they are a bit frustrating. For helicopters they don't allow for effortless flight because they don't allow for precision and subtlty that's required in helos. Especially for strafing or rocket runs. Better to savefir something like komodo or mfg or vkb or vpc which allow for almost telepathic flight input

At this time. I would not recommend either new monitor or VR. We aren't going to be waiting long for VR Gen 2 headsets, and if they really are the high resolution we are being teased (5k or more) then it would a poor choice to buy a current Gen vr unit. Unless you can get a good deal on one e.g. Windows mixed reality headsets sometimes sell for $200 new. For the $500 for an oculus or $800 for vive this late in the game its not worth the money

Because the hornet seems to be able to do it all, short of VTOL and hover, I don't see how I'll ever have time to fly any thing else. Although I will make time to fly an apache, or cobra :D But despite not flying other aircraft I'll still be purchasing them for my collection
