Yet Another Track IR stuttering when panning thread
The_Nephilim replied to wolfitoXtreme's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Hnmmm, Do you have VSync enabled anywhere in nvidia CP or ingame? if yes try and turn it off. have you tried a fram cap besides VSync ? -
Did you try testing in the options page for controls?

Yet Another Track IR stuttering when panning thread
The_Nephilim replied to wolfitoXtreme's topic in Game Performance Bugs
so is DCS the only game where you get Stutters in? What nVidia drivers are you using? Did you do a DDU Uninstall and remove bloat on nvidia drivers before installing? the only Hog I seen besides DCS in your Process was Defender.. have you made exceptions for DCS.exe and the folders/saved games ? Also have you run Crystal Disk or other benchmark Program for your NVME Drives to see it is running the correct speed? 1 other thing have you tried running your monitor @120/60Hz, when using trackir? EDIT: I just looked at the log and was wondering what your VRam usage is during these missions? -
Yet Another Track IR stuttering when panning thread

well if you experience with other games it is probally not just DCS that is causing this issue.. Do you use trackIR with the 1st person shooter you mention here? I would say maybe some 3rd party program causing issues.. You said you tried everything almost but there has to be something causing this.. have you looked at task manager during a gaming session to see what might be taking up more resources then they should? Have you tried a clean boot and retry the games to see if you get stuttering? Also what are your PC Specs? -
Wouldnt the sound come through the speakers?? haha!! Seriously did you try checking which device is being used in the sound properties? which windows you on? does any game work or just DCS?

How to lower the .1% Frametime?
The_Nephilim replied to The_Nephilim's topic in Game Performance Bugs
I have the FPS limit too 300 so it is not that but wierd after I adjusted the settings the GPU USage went down and the performance went up.. I guess I asked to much from the GPU, could that be the cause and not so much the GPU USage? I am not asking for help but would like to know why it did what it did.. I get excellent performance and just curious and was wondering if maybe I get a new GPU. I mean I can live with the way it is but if I can gain more performance that is always a plus.. I had answered some questions in the quote above EDIT: I just want to point out when I got real bad GPU Usage and Frametimes when I was in Cairo on a helipad near the Pyramids in a KA-50 III. I went to Caucusus and it lowered the GPU Usage and frametime.. so maybe it was just too much of a demanding scene? -
How to lower the .1% Frametime?
The_Nephilim replied to The_Nephilim's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Well I can say maybe that is correct but what else could cause the issue when at 99% usage? It seemed the FPS suffered I made a few adjustments on the DCS Options and when it went below the usage it was fine.. so not sure what you are saying is true? -
How to lower the .1% Frametime?
The_Nephilim replied to The_Nephilim's topic in Game Performance Bugs
I had heard back a while ago that you want your GPU Running @99% usage. well I had hit that tonight and performance was terrible.. so I have to ask what is the best percentage of GPU USage is ideal. It seems when it is running 99% the GPU is the bottleneck.. -

Umpteenth graphics card question - AMD 7900xtx or RTX 5080
The_Nephilim replied to AlpineGTA's topic in Virtual Reality
well probally won't matter much your CPU is a bit on the weaker side for that much GPU on either.. but if you want to try the amd you may need a newer cpu as well.. you may just end up being CPU bound.. and besides Google says that amd is a 4080 equivelent.. so probally better with a 5080 unless you use a Pimax Crystal? 16GB should be plenty and 24 is probally overkill.. -
what are your DCS Options at?? yes well AI is full of it and lies and makes stuff up not sure why anybody listens to AI.. Do you have the F18C? I have it and could probally see if I can get the JF-17 on a trial test? to see how they work on my rig but I get near flawless performance in SP and MP. EDIT: Well I just tried 2 different instant action missions the JF-17 was butter smooth. did you have your rain set on High in the options? can you share the mission in the rain you have or is it a canned mission? Well I think it is a bit harder on hardware with the f18 but this was only some single player tests.. I can go into a mp server and check. but I still think the f18 is a bit arder on the hardware from initial tests..

Intermittent freezes ("ANTIFREEZE ENABLED")
The_Nephilim replied to RJLee's topic in Game Performance Bugs
I would suggest starting your own thread and add a DCS Log file so others can have a look. system specs would help as well.. that spawning in issue should not happen and is a seperate issue.. hopefully that cures it.. maybe it was a corrupted nvidia driver install.. -

Well 2 things stand out: 2025-11-09 19:38:34.280 WARNING EDCORE (Main): CPU HAS PARKED LOGICAL CORES (this can be source of stuttering and reduced performance especially on hybrid CPUs with P/E-cores) and you are running Tacview, this could also cause stutters ingame.. also do you use any mods? It did not look like you did but I just did a quick through.. when you installed the nvidia drivers did you use DDU to uninstall the new ones and did you debloat the nvidia drivers before installing them? -
Well I had posted back in June 29 2025 and had issues getting DCS to work in VR @ 90Hz. well currently and about the past month I have been having no issue running DCS @90Hz with frametimes around 8-9.5ms so well above 90FPS.. I am using the same system so either DCS Made some changes that helped or my system just works better now for some odd reason?
-
I know you said you had a 5090 but what is the vram usage at the point it stutters? Also do you know your Frametime during this as well? You might just have the resolution on the headset too high..
-
Well I had alot of succes with the oasis driver and using win 11 24h2. but you never know. Depends on your hardware.. if you have newer gear maybe worth an upgrade.. you may or may not experience issues hard to say unless you try it.
-
in Steam VR.. they have options to set the global rez and the per app rez.. I am using the oasis driver as well.
-
Well I have discovered with my gear in Sig and a Reverb G2 when I set the Global rez to 80% and game app to 80% DCS Runs fine in VR. If I set other then that say 90/80% or even 60/60% I get stutters. I have asked why the G2 seems to do that in my thread but if you get stuttering at 100% Rez in VR try lowering the resolution I guess especially in the G2.. Unknown why the G2 does this but I am near flawless with Spikes and Frametimes at 80/80%..

How to lower the .1% Frametime?
The_Nephilim replied to The_Nephilim's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Well you see that is the thing I don't need to do anything it just runs near flawaless. I seen that link thnx.. I was only having a 99.9% CPU Time and was wondering what I could do to get that down as well. but it really is nearly flawless it just might be the game engine or network disconnects and stuff dragging down that .1%.. -
How did you find out this was your issue? Did you use latency mon or something to determine this?

How to lower the .1% Frametime?
The_Nephilim replied to The_Nephilim's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Well I think I discovered something unusual. when I select my total rez at 80% and game rez @80% my game runs flawless @90hz.. but If I set the global rez to 90% or anything other then an 80/80% config my Game runs terrible.. I just ran capFramex and it was flawless for 504seconds.. This is very strange maybe something wrong with the way DCS Handles certain VR Resolutions or similar is going on here.. -
How to lower the .1% Frametime?
The_Nephilim replied to The_Nephilim's topic in Game Performance Bugs
I am done with messing with FSOS. it seems after a while it starts acting funny or maybe it was just me.. I am now trying to keep my .1% lows lower then 11.1ms as I had switched to 90hz and it is still keeping up altho I am at 80% Rez in the G2.. Which does not look too bad but I am able to keep my Frametimes under 11.1ms 99.9% of the time.. I do believe the 1% lows are the cause of most people stutter.. I would say if you have stutter, judder or whatever you want to call it check your 1% frametimes. EDIT: I was wondering if a dev could chime in on why all of the sudden DCS seems to run so perfect for me at least. I am getting under 7ms Frametimes for GPU and less then 6ms on CPU.. it is really wierd why it seems to work like it should of since I had the 4070ti.. -
does it happen to you? If so are you using VR and which Hz rate do you use? then what is it and why am I not suffering as much? EDIT: I was just in a MP session on through the inferno and I had lowered my Resolution of the G2 and it was near perfect the entire flight. the Frametimes were below 7.2ms on GPU and 6.0 on CPU and I had a near perfect flight time going to WP2.. I looked out the sides and seen no stutter, nor spikes when airborne. I use the fpsVR Counter.. the point I am trying to make is maybe you put too much on your PC can handle.. or something else is amiss..
-
IDK Maybe have a look at my .1% thread I am getting 100% PErfect frametime on my GPU and 99.9% on the cpu which effectively is near stutter free. not sure it is entirely DCS Fault.. IF it was then I would suffer as well..
