Hey All, I currently have a Reverb G2 and its struggles using it with my MSI 4070Ti. Now I was wondering will the CL have issues with the 4070Ti too? Like Currently I can run at 80% of Full Rez @60Hz. now I noticed the CL seemed to have only 72hz as it's lowest, I had issues with the Quest3 I tried out last month but I chalked it up to the USB Link Cable.. So does anyone here have a 12th series or newer CPU with a 4070Ti, what kind of FrameTimes do you get in DCS @ 72Hz or do you have to also lower the Rez down a bit? I am kinda on the fence with a CL. I am continuing to monitor the CL any info would be valuable..

I am not entitled but it is sick that nVidia is using fake frames and making look like a performance gain when it is not.. hey that is fine if they are at a wall they could jusrt easily say we are at that point were we are getting diminishing returns instead of the hyperbole they are pushing.. Sorry you feel it is a gain. I guess then I can give nVidia fake money every 2 dollars and pay them with fake money so for every real dollar I give them it will be two fake bills.. hey I like that idea..

well the GPU's are less strong and high in price I am unsure why you say if they do not sell enough GPU's the opposite will happen it clearly did not.. Altho they are set at a MSRP Currently that is almost never the case and if it turns out the 5xxx series AI Fake frame rendering does not work out as hoped I guess the market for old cards will just go up.. Sorry to rant but it just sucks thats all, as I like gaming but it is turning very expensive venture. I need a cheaper hobby. and it is not just the GPU's all the Components are getting expensive. I struggled to find a motherboard that was not 4-500usd for the new 2xx series CPU's. Heck my Hotas cougar is near 18years old haha!! my Soundblaster Z I had that for as long as it was out for and the other items in my kit Santa gave me

Well guys either way nVidia Prices are only set at MSRP so we will see what they actually cost at release and I am sure the scalpers are going to get most of the cards and people will end up buying those because I guess they have more money then myself.. I only bought the 4070Ti as I thought it was a 256bit bus which it is not and barely can run the G2 at Full tilt and I have to also run in at 60 hz so yes I was burned with the 4xxx series but it is my own fault but these new 5xxx are just smoke and mirrors as someone else said.. plus I bought the 4070ti with a payment plan so the cost seemed to have been offset.. I paid 750$ for it.. but the price can go up with the different versions they come up with like a 3 fan OC Special edition or some crap.. Was it worth it NO!!. if you think all this AI crap and fake frames are going to be great well I hope you enjoy fake frames as it is basically like ASW and motion reprojection and I have to tell you it is awfull when the scene gets busy.. but I guess we will see. either way it is My Opinion if you want to buy a new card and can afford it all more better for you.. my friend is getting a 5070Ti when they come out so I am interested in what the real world difference is with some benchmarks.. as for me yes I have a decent system but I got the CPU for Free and my motherboard and memory I traded up for it with a little cash. Also my G2 I bought used so it was half the price of a new one. so the illusion I spent alot of money for my system is just that an illusion. I am by no means rich I live a comfortable life and enjoy some gear but at the rate things are going I just can see affording this gear much longer. I really like gaming but it is near the tipping point for me. IDK what else to say I am glad you think what nVidia is selling this time is a great value for the money but I see it different.. but I guess nVidia has to keep the shareholders happy. I like nVidia but the reality is the more people spend on these cards like when the scalpers start selling them is pushing me out of the market for affording this gear.. I bought a 1080 in what was it 2018 and it was about 530usd now the xx80 series cards are over 1000. the price has increased massivly and I thought 500 for a GPU was crazy back then they are just at insane levels and I see it going further faster then the value for the money.. either way I think I will just digress..

Be aware - careful when buying a used RTX4090
The_Nephilim replied to LucShep's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
hey guys another trend I seen on fleabay was they are selling "PICS" of 4090 and state that in the description and making hundreds of dollars in Bids.. So People are paying near $1000 for a "Picture" of a 4090 BUYER BEWARE.. -
More Intel E-cores mean to DCS MT performance
The_Nephilim replied to scommander2's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Well I hear so much about users with better gear then myself having major stutters and all kinds of Problems. I have had a VR Headset since 2016 or so and I have never had much issues with DCS. now even today there is an occasional blip on the |DCS Frame counter and a slight stutter but I see that in all my other games too even tho they are not as demanding as DCS I think it is just inherint with PC Programming and similar.. I use 8 cores for my Game EXE's and all I put all the other Processes on the 4 E-Cores I have and do not have any major issues. I play mostly MP and I have played on some big servers with like 50-60 people in it at a time. now I am not saying the game runs perfect but it is as near as perfect as it can be with VR and a Program as complex as DCS is.. I do use Process Lasso and Fixed Foveated Rendering which helps tremendously.. That other thread was when I 1st did a reinstall of Win 11 after secure erasing my Drive and install a clean copy of Win 11 23H2.. so what you saw there and it is a bit wierd but while they claim Win 11 does real good at keeping the more complex Proceeses off the Ecores you can clearly see that is not the case.. What I have found out the Win11 can do a better job then win 10 but it is more like a general usage and not 100% Perfect at doing it. I have also read a program could code some stuff in it to better help Win 11 do this job better. but I guess they have not yet did that with DCS, and to be fair I doubt many other compnaies have done it either as I get similar Stuttering in MechWarrior 5 especailly when the scene gets busy.. To be honest DCS runs pretty good for me and in VR you just need to head the rule whatever Hz rate you run you need to keep the Frametimes under a set amount depending on the Hz rate, ie if you run at 60Hz the Frametime you need to keep at or under and under more is better is 16.6ms. as long as you can maintain under that @60hz you should have relatively smooth Gameplay.. I am not saying it will be smooth forever but you may have those minor blips when say someone leaves the server or something big happens. But I have monitored my DCS FPS Counter and most times it is a flatline with a very minor blip downwqard for a milisecond but not some long drawn out stutter so basically my game is stutter free.. Now I dont know if I just managed to get the settings just right or lucky in the order but I really have few issues.. sorry to go on but I feel most other users could have similar results but there can be so many variables it sometimes is hard to pin down.. oh and I do use HT it seems to help sometimes but it is not mandatory you would need to experiment for yourself.. -

Well run DCS and most likely if you are on Win11 it is running on the Ecores. I would imagine it would work but as you see the ECores are not made for this kind of work. while it may work but it will be limited and probally when a Demanding scene pops in they will choke.. have a look at my thread here and see what I found out about win 10 and win 11 and how DCS uses the Ecores.. I would suggest installing Process Lasso and put all the other Processes on your ECores manually and put DCS and your other games on the PCores.. it is really easy and effective: -
two things here, I see some say the VRam is not enough what are you guys doing to use more then 16/24gb vram?? I only have 12gb and use about 8/9GB? Also some say they are cpu bound even tho they have a hefty CPU, Maybe some ED Guys can chime on this one but I could of swore somebody said that just because it states CPU bound that is not really the case depending on what else is going on.. I mean if the DCS Frame counter says CPU Bound and you are getting 100FPS or more I dont think this is the case. I did notice with it it turns different colors the CPU Bound and I thought if it was RED when saying CPU Bound then you probally are if it is just the normal color.

here these are the same ecores with Process LAsso in effect in DCS. Plus I moved almost all other Processes to the Ecores and they are not nearly getting used nearly as much as it was in the above Pic..
-
Well I have been hearing alot how Process Lasso is not needed with Win 11 anymore and I believe this is just not true. I had installed Win 10 the other day and ran DCS and no surprise it was running mostly on the Ecores. MY specs are in the signature.. I had just gotten done installing Win 11 and tested DCS and what do you know again DCS was using the Ecores mostly and 3 other cores were being used with 1 PCore stacked at near 100% and a couple other cores with a bit of usage. Plus even tho I had set my parked cores to unparked a few showed parked.. here is a screenshot whilst DCS was running in a Apache canned mission whilst on the threshold.. now you will note all ecores are near maxed out. Now maybe someone can explain what is going on here but it seems to look as it is with the Ecores mostly being used ingame. Now If I play the game I will get massive stutters as I had a similar thing happen last time I was on Win11 while playing DCS but that time it was a MP mission and it lagged real bad.. I figured out what was happening and installed PL and all was well. It then prompted me to do a test I installed win 10 Pro and had similar experience with the ecores but that should not surprise anybody.. I then went back to Win 11 Pro and just played DCS and as you can see with the screenshot it is mostly on the Ecores.. I omitted the other cor pics as they were barley used. but note the usage on the ecores in the below screenshot.. I was wondering if it is DCS causing this issue or is Win 11 to blame, I thought Win 11 was supposed to stop this from happening??

no thnx you also need to buy more gear and nvidia always drops support for this stuff after a while..

Are large monitors still relevant?
The_Nephilim replied to MJY65's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
To the OP I had a 10foot DLP 3 Projectoer S3D setup and VR Outshines that by miles in my opinion. the thing with VR is no matter where you look you see the VR World and not the Real world persay and that always broke immersion. Once I seen VR for what it was and got it I never looked back.. -
well I found out the thermal paste Which I did was not an optimal spread. I had tried something different and plus the paste I used was rather thick and did not spread real easy. I repasted it using the credit card method and that seemed to have lowered the temps quite a bit.. So I had ordered some new thermal paste and will repaste it and reseat the cooler.. this paste I have now was just too thick.. I guess when putting the dot method it did not spread too well and had some hot spots I would imagine.. I bought some corsair paste, which is less viscous so should spread better.. plus it comes with a spreader so I will do that method again and see if the new past works better..

I have just got done with the reinstall of the new case and AIO it turned out pretty good. I am still unsure ifI have the cooler seated properly the temps still seemed a bit high when I ran a OCCT CPU Test.. but so far it seems to be working. I will need to experiment some more but it turned out pretty decent I like the new case and AIO.. EDIT: Well when I ran OCCT CPU Test 5 of the cores were over 95c but the rest were under 90c, one core went too 100c and a couple at 99c.. so either the AIO is seated wrong or the cpu is defective.. not sure but maybe someone can verify what is wrong here? temps are no lower while running the OCCT Test then with the air cooler?? Will run some more testing to make sure the AIO Heatsink is properly seated.. here are some build Pics:

Hey Guys, Merry Christmas and happy new year. I had gotten the Thermalright Frozen Notte cooler 360 and I had asked the oracle if I could use the Thermalright aftermarket CPU BRacket and rediscovered this old post by me and I see that LucShep had answered my question about if I could use the TR Bracket with this AIO and it was a yes.. So now I will wait until tomorrow Christmas to see if Santa will send me the case I wanted to fit this new AIO in with.. I am pretty sure I will be getting it and will have to wait until tomorrow to see if I did. So Once I get the new case I can swap out the Air Cooler for the AIO and see what I can do with the OC of the CPU.. I am going to run a bank of tests and note them here to see what the difference is when I put in the AIO vs my Air Cooler now.. so I will get some Idle temps and 100% Usage temps then do the same after I install the AIO and see what difference there will be.. I am really getting excited and looking forward too Christmas.. Hopefully Santa was nice to all the kiddies out there

VD is the program on Steam correct? I just find it hard to believe that would work bertter then the cable..
