1. well in your log file it stated you had this happen before the CTD: 2023-11-12 02:41:29.222 INFO EDCORE (11952): # C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION at 00007ff9ae12dd15 00:00000000. Do you run any mods and have you disabled the hot plug usb? you have alot of different errors in the log like corrupt damage models and such and a few dx11backend errors as well. maybe GPU related. did you try running DDU to uninstall the current GPU drivers and reinstall a new set?
2. I would say system is unstable, have you tried running memtest or OCCT CPU, GPU Stability stress tests?
3. which video device do you use for playing DCS? if VR Perhaps you have motion reprojection running?
4. well, I think you are on to something I seen this video here the original video is private but this helped massivly for me.. for VR set the FPS Limit in the graphics.lua. I set mine 5fps lower then my lowest seemed to have smoothed things massivly.. Edit: I noticed when I capped my FPS the world outside the cockpit seemed to have smoothed out but inside the cockpit when looking around in the pit seems a little stuttery.. so I guess it is a mixed bag, would you rather cap your FPS and have the inside cockpit views look stuttery or you can run full out without capping and the outside world looks stuttery.. IDK, I think I liked it full out.. so not sure if this is a total solution but it could help others with really bad stutters.. TheONLY time it is very fluid is when I am set at my VR Headsets Hz rate and with my gear 60Hz/FPS is about the best I can do for now.. so that is the only time it is super smooth for me.. if I dip a couple FPS below 60 it gets choppy/stutters.. I am waiting on a 2080ti which should help me keep 60Hz/FPS real easy..
5. Well like my title says it is things to try, you would have to try but I seen all these things help some users. it is not a guarantee if you do these things it will fix your issue but the more common things I have seen over the years.. there are other things one could try and I think YMMV..
6. Soundslike you have aPC stability issue. it should not take 30+ minutes to enter a MP server.. and yes it is a simulation which is more demanding then a game..
7. Yes I see now, I just thought it could mean they were core affinity only on 1 core or something.. I looked in my log file and I had 16 - 1's for my 16 cores.. Then I would sumize in this instance it could just be a PC not up to par with what 2.9 can produce.. yes he said it worked in 2.8 but this is not 2.8.. I seen a handfuly playing on the CPU and all claim stutters.. so I am thinking a case of underpowerd CPU in this instance.
8. 2023-10-26 17:28:31.394 INFO EDCORE (Main): system affinity mask: 1111 2023-10-26 17:28:31.394 INFO EDCORE (Main): process affinity mask: 1111 I have noticed this is most users logs I have looked at that have this stuttering issue, are you setting coreaffinity with a program like Lasso or regedit?? I don't see that in my log files and have no stutters or very minimal..
9. Hey I am not trying to get into an argument just asking a simple question. well it most likely is a 2.9 issue IDK but like I was saying if it was it does not seem to be global.. I am only seeking answers to why some users have issues why others do not.. But most times users post an issue with no data and expect an answer.. it would help if some users get their <profanity> together and post a good error report instead of just craping on the new updates.. Simple thing is you do not need to use Beta if you dont want the issues.. I currently have never experienced issues like most seem to have an I have lesser gear.. so I too am curious as to why I never seemed to have an issue why others do and with better gear.. it is a mystery to me and would love to solve it. that made me make my post about some common issues that have solved others issues.. I do not come here to argue and whatnot only to seek answers in this ever evolving mystery.. and to tell you the truth most users it ends up being something simple most times..
10. Well if that is the case then would'nt everybody suffer from stutters??
11. I looked on the forums and found an older post with the message you had and it turned out to be some scripts he was running?? Are you using any scripts? Also I am not sure it is a core issue I just thought I remembered a post that mentioned problems with more then 18 cores I really don't remeber the particulars.. I would if nobody else has made a post here about that. So do put in a ticked and just mention you have the sutter fest and I think you can attatch a log file too.. I am sure they should be able to at least help to some degree or narrow down what the issue is and get it fixed..
12. I just went back to Win 10 and it is a fresh install, well I am looking for Open XR Tools for Mixed reality portal and it is not in the Microsoft store?? I am wondering where it went? I was also not able to update mixed reality portal itsays that is not there as well what gives here? NVM There was an Store update that was hiding. I updated the Store and it is back.
13. well either way we got an apache 64 and I could not be happier, and I am trying to remain hopefull for a suberhornet that is all
14. Yes IDK maybe try and put in a ticket with ED??
15. Well it does not matter who said it but there where a few quite vocal about it not ever going to happen the fact is it was said it would never happen, and yet it happened. like most modules yes I understand that..
16. Hello, I remember at one point users with a high core count had issues and maybe it is rearing it's ugly head again here. I seen this a couple times in your log file: 2023-11-07 17:05:15.347 WARNING WORLD (Main): ModelTimeQuantizer: ANTIFREEZE ENABLED I am pretty sure where they are the game stuttered.. Do you use any mods and have you tried to delete the FXO and metashaders folder and do a slow clean and repair of DCS?? Also you have Tacview running try turning that off during the test and refly the mission.
17. yes well to all the deniers they said the same thing about the Apache and that happened err unless I been dreaming here!!
18. well mainly depends on the budget and what PC you currently have, Specs and budget??
19. It seems to be working good here, just got done a 2 hour flight online with the boys and it was smooth as butter.. if you are having issues post your DCS.log, DXDIAG and TRK files.
20. Well I do know one thing with VR especially the G2 is the closer you are to your set Hz rate the smoother it will be. try lowering your rez. like I said I run @ 60 hz and get 55-60 fps and it appears pretty smooth.. I will add the NVCP bit and HAGS.
21. check your commandline it is spaced wrong and doubled.. "C:\Games\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin-mt\DCS.exe" --force_enable_VR --force_OpenXR
22. Hey all, I, went ahead and put a short list together of thing we can do to help alleviate stutters and poor performance. the list is not an order of things to try, just a list of, what to try and is by no means an exhaustive list. If anybody can think of others to add I will look into and hopefully update the list but some of these are the more common things to try.. Figured it would be good to have a list of things one can try. If, all else fails make a post here and do not forget your DXDIAG, DCS.Log and trk files.. 1. Do a Clean and repair slow, but long repair would be better, by marking check additional files.. 2. Uninstall Mods, reenable one at a time to help track which one caused the issue. but do disable all of them and test DCS again and see if the issue persists.. 3.Delete FXO and Metashaders2 folders. don't worry they will be rebuilt upon start of game and the game may load slower until the shaders are rebuilt. 4.check, Pagefile and set both min and max at 32768, and make sure it is on a FAST SSD or M.2 Drive. Not all SSD's are created equal. Test the read and write speed of your drive, sometimes the write speed is super slow.. 5. Disable Hot plug devices. 6. Disable HPET, you can do this in Device manager or BIOS/UEFI. 7. Check for Parked cores, if they are parked you can just set your Power plan to High/Ultra Performance.. this should unpark all cores.. 8. If, using VR, try lowering the HZ rate. Some users are affected buy the lower refresh rate.. users may see strobing in the game. sometimes it is worse then others and may take some time to get used too, Especially in HP Reverb G2 @ 60Hz. 9. Do not run DCS.exe as Admin. 10. Try lowering the Resolution of your Headset. I myself run my Reverb G2 @ 30% and with MSAA x2 looks fine to me, but I get near 60 fps at 60Hz and have very little stuttering, when looking to the side and no stutters straight on. This is with a 1080Ti + 10700K @ 4.8GHZ, 32GB Ram.. 11. for nVidia users set the Power management too Prefer maximum performance, and set that under Program settings Not Global settings.. 12. Disable Hardware-accelerated GPU Scheduling.. 13. Foveated Rendering is another thing one could try for better FPS in VR with supported headset.. it does work with a Reverb G2: If, anybody thinks of another more common issue name it and I will try and keep the list updated.. but these are a few of the Basics I see all the time.. one thing may help one user and have no effect on another user. it is a crap shoot sometimes and hopefully we one day can all roll sevens or whatnot lol!! The following was for 2.8, 2.9 maybe similar Minimum system requirements (LOW graphics settings): OS 64-bit Windows 10; DirectX11; CPU: Intel Core i3 at 2.8 GHz or AMD FX; RAM: 8 GB (16 GB for heavy missions); Free hard disk space: 120 GB; Discrete video card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 / AMD R9 280X or better; requires internet activation. Recommended system requirements (HIGH graphics settings): OS 64-bit Windows 10; DirectX11; CPU: Core i5+ at 3+ GHz or AMD FX / Ryzen; RAM: 16 GB (32 GB for heavy missions); Free hard disk space: 120 GB on Solid State Drive (SSD) + extra space for paid content ; Discrete video card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 / AMD Radeon RX VEGA 56 with 8GB VRAM or better; Joystick; requires internet activation. Recommended VR systems requirements (VR graphics settings): OS 64-bit Windows 10; DirectX11; CPU: Core i5+ at 3+ GHz or AMD FX / Ryzen; RAM: 16 GB (32 GB for heavy missions); Free hard disk space: 350 GB on Solid State Drive (SSD); Discrete video card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 / AMD Radeon RX VEGA 64 or better; Joystick; requires internet activation.
23. well it maybe something with a resize of your screen. in the log it states this:
2023-11-03 04:30:38.907 INFO DXGUI_WIN_ADAPTER (Main): resize main window to [0, 0] 2023-11-03 04:30:42.256 INFO DXGUI_WIN_ADAPTER (Main): ChangeDisplaySettings failed! Result is -2 2023-11-03 04:30:42.258 INFO DXGUI_WIN_ADAPTER (Main): resize main window to [3840, 2760]
Do you use a seperate monitor for MFD';s?? It looks like something is not changing to the resolution and you get a failure hence probally why it kicks you from the server or errors out... IS single play ok?? And that last line say resize to 3840 x 2760 and not 2160?? do you use a mod that uses MFD's or similar?
24. well first thing I would say instability of your system? Do you run any mods? can you also post your dxdiag? do you use a modified pagefile?
