  1. I get roll instabilty when lifting off, too. Current build. Not my stick/controls.
  2. "Tiny bit"? Isn't it major functionality that is currently missing?
  3. @Raptor9Thanks for the link. I'm aware of rotorcraft aerodynamics. That is not the problem. It seems my ... expectation ... is that it has more power/lift capability than it actually does. As it is, I'm loaded 1500 lbs below max gross, flying on a standard day out of an airport at 500 ft AMSL (I checked). I thought it would be able to handle that with margin to spare, so you can perhaps understand my surprise when it took everything it had to get off the ground. The load I'm flying with seems to put it right on the edge of the envelope, which quite honestly I wasn't expecting.
  4. I need to hit the manuals PDQ to see if Yaw SAS is operational. Feels like it might be. She's at 21500 lbs (8*Hellfire, 2*fuel tanks).
  5. Laser burnout has been a feature since the original Black Shark (even before DCS). If you aren't using it for a while, switch it off and let it cool down.
  6. Twitchy?? I actually had to remove my curves as I found they were not sensitive enough across the board (I haven't flown in about 3 months, so something maybe changed globally). Ka-50 is the easiest to fly of all the helis in DCS, and I don't find that to be less true now. What kind of controller are you using?
  7. I'm having weird control problems, too. It's not my controllers. I even had it require right (not left) pedal to keep it straight when lifting off. Single player. Something is screwy.
  8. I completely agree with this! We get ripped off as simmers because "niche market" (which isn't so niche).
  9. Hi, I have a whole day left of my trial of the AH-64, which sucks because my new rudder pedals arrived a day early (today) and so I have almost no time to get used to both. I noticed it previously but didn't really "see" the problem as I was controlling pedals with the second throttle axis of my HOTAS. First flight, the helicopter required a lot of RIGHT pedal to counter torque (uhh... seems rather implausible... anti-clock rotor; left pedal). Second and subsequent flights, she requires a tiny bit of left pedal. HUH? Third problem, is while she is nearly at max gross, she requires 130% Tq to get her airborne, and once off the ground, feels to lack power to climb. Yes, I'm aware of translational lift, yada yada. Throttles are fully forward to the FLY detent. All my missions are configured for standard day and zero wind. Aircraft is at Beslan (I think 1500 ft altitude). I'm used to flying the beast that is the Mi-8, so I don't consider myself a rookie. Is there a known issue with power/torque, or am I being dumb? I tried the UH-1H out of the same location and it flies fine.
  10. Ahh OK. I thought it was part of the BS3 update.
  11. @trevoCI don't fly MP as some do which is part of a regular online squadron. I just find it offers more variation than loading a mission (I find re-playability a problem). I tend to fly solo or fly support for others.
  12. Is it supposed to be able to handle an asymmetric load like that? If yes, then this would appear to be a bug. I've never tried to carry asymmetric stores on the Shark. My usual loads are either Vikhrs and gun pods, or Vikhrs and fuel tanks. I rarely carry anything else.
  13. It's partially to do with how they look for the laser. Vikhr looks backwards at the source, so like looking at a weak flashlight, it doesn't need to be very bright. The Kh-25ML looks forwards, so the laser needs to be much brighter for it to see the laser spot on the ground to track towards (same as a conventional LGB).
  14. An IR source is an IR source. It matters not whether it is a burning truck or a gas explosion or a rocket motor. If the source is within the FoV of the sensor, and occurs suddenly, then I'd imagine that is enough to trigger the system.
  15. I thought it had a flight dynamics update as well? There were tweaks to rotor downwash behavior IIRC? ...meaning there are other changes. I'm sure they were discussed here previously.
  16. Clearly not if your system suddenly shuts down to protect itself. Either GPU or CPU overtemp does this usually.
  17. I wish you could see my flying. I completely agree with everything written. I just keep forgetting the thing has wings and their effect. Happy New Year!
  18. Has there been a loadout change? I found the missing pod. It can only be equipped on the center pylons.
  19. 550W PSU is inadequate, and your system shutting down is abnormal. Nothing to do with DCS except for the fact it is making your system work. Get a much bigger PSU. I have half the GPU (in terms of power) and I run an 800W PSU.
  20. I've been flying DCS online pretty much since BS1 was released. There is no better way to fly it IMHO. SP is great for just flying around, experimenting, and learning, but MP is where the action is.
  21. The Shark must be near zero velocity, stable in altitude, and in heading mode (hit the trimmer button). Disengage Flight Director!! Engage altitude hold, and it should hover on its own. If your controls are not trimmed, or they are a long way out from their trimmed position (depends on your hardware) then the AP will not have control authority to maintain position.
  22. Worth it just for the modelling, sounds, and flight dynamics update.
