Hey all. I've been considering getting a Ryzen 7 5800x3d for DCS & MSFS2020. I am currently running a Ryzen 9 5900x and getting good performance, but would like to understand if there is a big performance gain for DCS if I switch to the R7 5800x3d. Appreciate any feedback from anyone that has made this switch.

Having this issue too, so glad I'm not alone. Thanks for the advise above. I will try starting Eng 2 sooner and also make sure my collective is fully down. I had to modify my Thrustmaster throttle to account for my AB detent so maybe that shows it as not fully down.

You are correct sir. I found that only the swap feature happens when you rocker button on the display. It was not working when I was using the HOTAS function as my rocker. Not sure if this was fixed with the recent update.

Yep. He'll add all identified targets on his slave command. Best to view with TADS video to visually ID targets before you give concent to fire. Not sure what's happening when you give free fire command.

Appreciate everyone's feedback. Yes, after I looked into it more I assigned all four/five of the RTS and PTT to my HOTAS, things are working properly now. I've been spoiled in the past with other mods just using the "\" bound, but it looks like it only works on the ground. I still think a upcoming WAGS or Casmo video on radio operations would be good (hint hint).

Not sure what I'm doing, but after I take off the communication menu "\" doesn't work in the AH-64. Looking online for some radio use guidance too, but not seeing much. Any links would be appreciated.

Just sharing my joy with the Viper. I own and play with a number of modules, but I have to say the Viper is my favorite. I really get a sense of acceleration and speed flying that mod. Sure all the features are not available yet, but each new update is like a mini-Christmas for me. btw #2 is the hog! Take care all and kudos ED.

Need some help here....Not sure what happened, but looks like some of my existing saved campaigns got corrupted. Now have a bigger issue that the mission scripts keep failing. Point to the correct directories for saved games and the DCS beta and have even replaced the mission script files with the one in the liberation folder. No matter what, still get the message when I start a sortie that the mission script cant be updated and should not proceed. It was working fine a week ago. Wondering if this is a Windows 11 issue. Running Win11, Ryzen 9 5900x, rx6900xt. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Awesome replies all. Appreciate the feedback. Once thing I like about flying these warbirds is the satisfaction you get with smooth takeoffs, landings, and handling. Makes me feel warm and fuzzy. The modern's are fun too, but I don't get the sense of satisfaction....well maybe with a solid Case I in the hornet.

I would send CAP/TARCAP out 10 minutes early and also include an escort flight with your CAS/Strike packages. Just remember that the AI in this game do stupid things like flying over SA10 sites if the SAM sites are in the CAP zones. I've conceded that I'm going to lose lots of planes in the Lib campaign due to AI limitations, but still have fun. Also consider how many flights get tasked within a given period and if you are sending them all out from a single airfield (or ship). Some airfields take a long time for all flights to get off the ground and can mess with timings causing late TOT and also fuel burn (afterburner use) to catch up by the AI.

Howdy all. I'm sure this is a user error issue on my part, but I noticed that the P47 does a significant role left on takeoff. I preset the rudder trim to TO position and have actually added a bit of right aileron down trim as well. I know the engine is a beast in the P47 that creates significant torque, but unsure what I am doing to cause such a dramatic role to the left with proper TO trim applied. I appreciate any feedback.

Anyone else have major graphics issues in night missions? cockpit is illuminated and land, sky completely dark, and sea is green. Looks great during day, mornings, evenings, etc...Just every once in a while there the night colors are all messed up. All drivers are up and good Specs: Ryz9 3900xt rx6900xt 64 GB Ram Run 2K

I think making the AI smarter would be ideal especially as ED works on a dynamic campaign engine. Your flight often chases down a bogie even flying into SAM areas. I would also like to see more interaction with ATC for heavy used airways, establishing a holding pattern at specific altitude and DME, then given permission to proceed to landing pattern with direction from ATC. Communication with all AI on the same radio channel as well.

Yep. I spent a month trying to figure out the HP Reverb G2 on my 2070. Gameplay not so good so I sent it back to HP.

I noticed that the Syria Map does not have the kneeboard option to place charts specific to only Syria Example: X:\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\terrains\Caucasus\Kneeboard - works great with Caucasus charts x:\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\terrains\Syria\[[[[missing Kneeboard]]]. I've tried just adding the folder, but the system doesn't recognize it. Looks like this is not an option at this time. Please make it so In the short term, any of you have some work arounds short of adding charts to every module or mission files?

Hello everyone. Just reporting a bug that if there are multiple AI aircraft awaiting to takeoff, they may not move to open catapults 3 & 4. Example: 2 hornets parked behind 4 tomcats on starboard side; 2 hornets parked at rear-port locations. Looks like the tomcats will not move to Cat 3 or 4 when 2 hornets parked at the rear-port locations, nor will they take Cat 1 or 2. Hornets parked behind the tomcats are stuck.

Hi all. I'm looking for some figures or a sheet that lays out all the communication matrix/diagram to help me build a new Voice Attack profile. I use a bunch of different planes, so I want to keep it simple. I've noticed though that the comms change with each plane and ATC is dynamic. If you could point me to the right spot, that would be greatly appreciated. Happy New Year!

Hi all. Recently built new rig and currently downloading DCS. I noticed the HTTP option after cancel is no longer available? Any one have insight? In the past, the HTTP option is much faster. Currently downloading at 2.5 Mb/s.

Dear Santa Please thank DCS for all the hard work and fantastic modules and terrains to bring our virtual experiences alive. 2020 has been challenging, but DCS has made it bearable. Below is my wish list for you that maybe you and your elves can consider :). 1. Finish up that dynamic campaign engine as the anticipation is killing me 2. Introduce JSTARS and enhance AWACS 3. Ability to set Wingman Bingo Fuel - hate when the state "bingo" then immediately crash into that hard ground 4. Enhance AI - not bad, but sometimes they do stupid things 5. Korea Map 6. AH-1 Super Cobra 7. Make F-15C fully immersive (my favorite plane of all time but never fly it since it's non-clickable) 8. Expand Navy and USMC assets for naval battles and invasion 9. Improve ATC communication for ground, tower, departure, etc 10. I'm sure there are more...but we will start there. PS. My wallet is waiting

Hello everyone. I will be building a new rig and plan on transferring the existing SSD to the new rig with DCS on it. I will also copy all my save game files. Should I anticipate an issue making DCS work with this process, or should I just install it fresh after my build. This fresh approach seams unnecessary and will eat up my data. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks

Thanks for the link. For those of you having the same problem in McAfee, Restore the quarantine DCS.exe, then add the DCS.exe file under the bin folder to your excluded files under the PC Security, real-time scanning. Hopefully, DCS and McAfee will work on this issue in the future.
