  1. It would be great if sufficient documentation is available. It was Soviet PVO fighter though and this were more classified than Soviet tactical fighters. 1970 MiG-25P (Foxbat-A) was spcialised single role PVO interceptor with riduculously powerfull pulse radar. 1980s MiG-25PD (Foxbat-E) was more universal, it was be able to detect and attack tagets below the nose using Doppler radar, it had RWR, additional R-60 missiles, flares and chaff dispensers, IRST. MiG-25R/RB/RBV/RBT (Foxbat-B) were reconissance aircrafts / bombers in few gradually improved variants with ELINT recon equipement and Peleng bombing systems. So overall MiG-25 would be both specialised and multirole aircraft at once. According to US F-15 pilots flying over Iraq, MiG-25, due to its uncompromised performance and weapon, in many situations was more dangerous opponent than MiG-29. Overall MiG-25 would open whole new tactical capabilities for all Cold War scenarios, having distinct limitations and unique very strong points available for Soviett side.
  2. Overall F-14 cockpit looks great in VR, very detailed and realistic. Fantastic work. Some buttons are so badly used/worn out, especially in RIO cockpit, you have to look carefully or use back ligh to read them comfortably though. Minus is cockpit weathering looks realistic - but for last years of F-14 from 2000s. Not for Cold War / Top Gun era F-14 when they were brand new, coming off the production line. I would like at least F-14A early to look like just lightly used, easily readable and sexy - not badly worn out and old. (Similar situation to F-4E - at least early variant from 1974 shouldn't be badly worn out, but quite new.) But overall kudos to HB graphic designers.
  3. Yes, i'm curious as well. Maybe original Cold War JA-37 variant is in Heatblur's reach? I would be interested in 1980s original AJ-37 with Skyflash, RB 24 and gun anyway, when it was still relevant and dangerous fighter and Soviet threat still existed. Not some modern AMRAAM truck when it was badly outdated and mostly replaced by Gripens. I would like to shoot some fighters with this JA-37 ridiculously powerfull Oerlikon KCA 30mm gun, firing GAU-8 Avenger cardridge, dwarfing Soviet GSh-30-1 or European ADEN and DEFA cardridges. When in AMRAAM era scenarios i usually set any aircraft gun ammo to 0, just to be lighter, as chance to use it is basically 0% anyway.
  4. Heatblur's work is second to none, but it's not Heatblur, but TrueGrit making EF and having as access to the data. Heatblur just works with them, help them, having experience with DCS and solid coders knowing how to work with dev kit. Heatblur was not allowed to make fighter Viggen variant due to some classified data. And JA-37 Viggen is deep Cold War machine. F-111 being prepared for developement would be a great news. Obviously Airplane Simulation Company ddin't release any module for DCS yet. Their quality will be visible only after releasing their C-130.
  5. I've noticed when changing PRF in the Hornet the order is: MPFR -> HPRF -> INTL But 90% of the time you want to change from HPRF to MPRF through the engagement, and to do that, you have to cycle through INTL and MPRF. It is very unlikely you would need to change from MPRT to HPRF. Is this order correct to the real aircraft?
  6. Yes, this would add a lot especially for the helicopters, but it would be important for all ground attacks.
  7. First it's low fidelity simplified FC3 aircraft, it doesn't model any real life avionics limitations, radar submodes, datalink operations and limitations etc. - this way it doesn't reveal anything sensitive, anything of any value to potential adversaries. Second - it's 90% just FC3 Su-27S with few changes. This Su-33 was modeled already 20 years ago in LO:MAC, FC3 far predecesssor, in very similar way.
  8. Original Soviet 9.12 may be modeled in reasonably realistic way on par with other DCS full fidelity modules, with documantation, real data, realistic FM, many subject matter experts input from both NATO and eastern block countries, with all its quirks, limitations, real historical performance in many conflicts as reference etc. So called "FBW MiG" - whatever it means, would be pure fantasy with fictional avionics, fictional performance, fictional FM, fictional weapon systems performance, without any real documentation, without subject matter experts revealing real life data or limitations etc. Way less realistic even compared to FC3 standard. Not even close to any full fidelity module. Who knows, depending on the result of current political events - maybe ED will be allowed to renew their work 9.12 in the future?
  9. After a few hours i think it was an option set in OpenXR Toolkit named Tubro Mode (Experimental) - i turned it off, no crashes so far.
  10. ED wanted to make Soviet or WarPac 1983 MiG-29 9.12, they already have all the data to model it, documentation, subject matter experts etc. Russian government new law forced ED to withdrawn. Maybe some 3rd party developer will try in the future.
  11. No, even far earlier 1985 USSR Su-27S is impossible to bo modeled as full fidelity right now. Chinese developer Deka Ironwork Simulations stated they can't make it as well witout risking jail. ED tried to make 1983 USSR MiG-29 9.12, but they were forced to withdrawn. 1970s/1980s Soviet MiG-23MLA and Su-17M will probably be made in the future - this are the most recent Soviet aircrafts planned for now.
  12. Yes but 1990s is already too late for Cold War scenarios what means it's being thrown together with 2000s F-16s, F-18s, with JDAMS, JSOWS etc. Aircrafts like Mirage F.1 or Jaguar shine in 1970s or at most 1980s enviroment.
  13. Hi, recently i'm having game to desktop crashes in MP in VR flying Apache, today 4 times playing on Rotorheads server with friends: 3 times using multithreading, 1 time using single threading when i've changed to check if this will make a difference. It crashes in random moments after 30-60 min. 2080Ti, 32GB Ram, 9900i I have permament pagefile of 40GB on M.2 drive Nvidia Drivers are up to date Reverb G2 My logs from today: (obviously i'm sending reports using automatic tool every time) cheers dcs.log dcs.log-20230523-173015.zip
  14. Thanks a lot, have a great day! Can't wait for both revised DM Gazelle and Kiowa.
  15. I've seen a stream on Twitch with great Gazelle update: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1826316181 Gazelle updates looks awesome, especially FM, plese don't delete Cold War configuration and make features like modern GPS tablet optional/configurable to make it possible to have also original configuration. For many guys flying Gazelle in Cold War scenarios and servers is important. I've heard Kiowa is to have 1980s, ~2005 and 2017 three variants. Thanks for your work and updating Gazelle FM even before Kiowa release, You are awesome! cheers
  16. Great footage, especially the missile part of the video, it has to be late 1970s / early 1980s as F-15 still have "turkey feathers", F-15 looks great with them on. At that time Eagle was just the best fighter aircraft.
  17. True. At some point there was a 3rd party dedicated to make in-depth detailed SAM simulation for DCS, but it looks like they resigned. I don't remember it was some official statement though. Anyway proper human-controlled e.g. Soviet SAM modeled in detailed way and Wild Weasels duel would be a great experience in DCS.
  18. Why is it implemented as an option (turned off by default) and not just replacing older model? Thanks for your work, cheers
  19. Yes, there is an intrest in ASW - this topic returns regularly, together with ASW connected full fidelity module like late Cold War declassified S-3 Viking, P-3 Orion or SH-60 Seahawk etc., but it would probably require some dedicated 3rd party to create ASW enviroment similar to e.g. Dangerous Waters ~18 years ago. Sound propagation with differnet bottom types, sound layers. Actual deep sea, different sound buoys, submarines AI and capabilities, a bit more detailed missiles and torpedoes etc. It didn't require any significant computing power, just a coding time. It has been done many times before in different simulators. It would be fantastic, but i doubt ED itself, without 3rd party/cooperation would have spare manpower to code ASW enviroment. But who knows. Hunting e.g. Soviet submarines north of Kola Peninsula would be exciting and engaging, but only with proper ASW enviroment.
  20. Yes. And some of them should be used by ground units by default, depending on their equipement. E.g. 2000s Abrams, being observed by enemy helicopter, should detect laser beam, rotate frontal armor in that direction, depending on range fire back, immediately release smoke screen, full reverse seeking cover using terrain, trees, infrastructure to break line of sight etc. Destroying even one such tank with helicopter should be significant achievement, not routine shooting range exercise when enemy SAM is the only obstacle. This would allow to appreciate different aircraft equipement, weapon systems, sensors, tactics.
  21. Normal MP aircraft selection, similar to any other sim. Where you just see the map with airfields and aircraft types available on them, select the airfield and aircraft. Instead of long-ass list to scroll 1-2 minutes, with just abstract airfields names, every aircrafts thrown in a heap, no filters, anything. If someone doesn't know locations of all small, less important airfields on all maps - it's his problem. This looks live very low hanging fruit.

    Kursk

What would be the point, we don't have a single aircraft from the era, not even AI. No ground assets. Nothing.
  23. Yes, it turned out it was mostly a skill issue - now i don't have much problems controling Apache and maneuvering in hover, sometimes stabilizing hover, with FTR being held, reuires full focus, but its perfectly doable. And ED is also tuning trim, hover, FTR, SAS behaviours so things will change a bit in near future.
  24. VR head position of infantryman (keyboard 3 view) inside Mi-24 compartment is placed some 0,6m too low - like the head is lying on the seat. To see though the window you need to stand up.
