Grumman really deserve a tip of the hat for their ingenuity. The USN handed them a very tall order and they delivered in spades. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

"One of a kind" is a good way to describe the F-14. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Glorious! You really ARE going above and beyond with the Tomcat. The willingness to go the extra mile on the minute details are, in my opinion, a large part of what will make DCS: F-14 truly one of a kind. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Very interesting. Thanks for taking the time to explain it in detail. So, I have to ask, are you guys modeling that too? :) Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Youtube Promotional access possible for the f14?
Nexus-6 replied to Growling Sidewinder's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Whether or not you believe I was being acerbic before, the fact of the matter is that it's likely they'll get a copy a short time before it's available to the rest of us. The Tomcat is arguably the most anticipated module to date. Of COURSE Heatblur is going to PR the hell out of it. And I called them "celebrities" because, to us at least, their YouTube channels are reasonably well known. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk -

I'm sure DCS "celebrities" like Ralfidude and DDG will get a copy to play with. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk -

I seriously doubt it was some kind of malfunction. I've seen it numerous times over the years. It's what got me curious. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

I know this is a bit of an inane question, but since we're discussing Tomcat engines (and I didn't want to make a new thread just for this), can anyone tell me why the nozzles for the TF30s were set differently when the aircraft was parked? In the picture you can clearly see the right engine is set as though it's in full afterburner, but the left engine is not. I tried a Google search, but it proved to be a dry hole. Well, I'm hoping that someone develops a MiG-17 someday.

** DCS: F-14 Development Update - September!! **
Nexus-6 replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Very much looking forward to seeing Heatblur's Tomcat fully skinned in all it's weathered glory. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk -
This is a bit disappointing. I was, at least, reasonably sure that ED would use the Hornet to scratch the 4th generation, multi-role itch that the community had. I have nothing against the F-16. It's a powerful beast. I just thought that the F-4's part to play in DCS would have been a bit more, well, flexible. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Very nice. I look forward to dueling with it.

* DCS: F-14 Development Update! Scan, Lock, Fire! *

There's nothing like it PERIOD. I'd be just as happy if HB had never even announced a carrier to go with it. -
DCS F-14 Update: JESTER AI Behind the Scenes Recording & Multicrew
Nexus-6 replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
An unfortunate reality shared by quite a few of us, I'm sure. I only know one person who plays, and THAT'S only because I talked him into it. People just aren't (typically) willing to invest the amount of time and money involved in something this complex. A niche market to the end. :/ EDIT: While I'm thinking about it, I'd like to ask about exactly how much fine control I'm able to give to JESTER. For example, if I only wanted him to control the AIM-54 while I control Sparrows/Sidewinders/Vulcan, can I do that? Or will it be all or nothing? Just curious. -
If someone makes this scheme I swear to God I will never use another.

Not really an immense surprise since everyone more or less expected a MiG-23 and a Mud Hen eventually, but I'm still glad to see these announcements. Excellent news, Razbam. I raise a glass to you.

Any made up airforces skins are planned for the 14?
Nexus-6 replied to uri_ba's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
It's almost a forgone conclusion that someone will eventually create a Razgriz livery and/or the Zipang Super 'Cat from the Ace Combat series. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk -
Yes, I know, but we're talking about different things. While the role of the F-14 as an A/G weapon is an ironclad testament to the aircraft's versatility, it isn't relevant to me. I did not fly for or support any Tomcat squadron in any way. If people want to use the LANTIRN pod that HB is providing to deliver ordinance, then I say good for them. Each to his (or her, I guess) own. As for myself, I intend to use those hardpoints for missles. I'll drop bombs with the Hornet. :) Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

Cobra talks about it here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=205587

I agree. I have no problem with Heatblur adding a LANTIRN pod, and I'm happy for all of those people out there who are getting something for this module that they really wanted, but for me the Tomcat is, at it's heart, a pure A/A machine. I have no interest at all in dropping bombs with it. I will say, however, that I AM glad that we're getting the F-14B. The TF30, in my opinion, hobbled the airframe's full potential, and I want every advantage that I can get.
