[MISSING TRACK] Uncommanded full left rudder input
Hornetjock replied to Hornetjock's topic in Bugs and Problems
Yes, thats right. To get airborne you first have to taxy! Now at the moment not possible. Lets hope they act quickly as this is the aeroplane I spend most of my time in - since the A8 has let us down with its low power/maneuverability. Seems always on the verge of a stall and can't even be looped! -
[MISSING TRACK] Uncommanded full left rudder input

I carefully checked all controls for conflict and even changed the rudder to a new button. The problem persists. The fact that the P 51 still responds normally to exactly the same key setup is confirmation I have no conflicts. -

Thank you...problem confirmed. -
[MISSING TRACK] Uncommanded full left rudder input

petsild - can I ask you to check your rudder inputs using the default keyboard commands Z and X while looking at the Spit rudder and advise if you can replicate my problem. I just did and the problem of full opposite application happens also with keyboard inputs. -
[MISSING TRACK] Uncommanded full left rudder input

I just tried the P 51 and the rudder is not affected and operates "normally" as the Spitfire used to - in other words back to centre after full application to left or right. -
[MISSING TRACK] Uncommanded full left rudder input
Hornetjock replied to Hornetjock's topic in Bugs and Problems
petsild its not landing thats the problem - thats a piece of cake without pedals. It's taxying and the applying of power at takeoff thats impossible now. Before the update it was fine - but now I'm getting full opposite application after release of the button. Before it was returning to centre. I am currently flying the P 51 and A8 the same way - but now the Spit is impossible. -
It's very simple to bind camera up/down to a two position switch and simply orient on entering the cockpit. With Track IR the view point is almost constantly changing, so simply F 12 for it and thumb your bound switch up or down to get the reticle right. It then stays there all flight until you raise it again for landing view.

Since the last update 2.5.5 32533 I am unable to taxi the Spitfire due to strange full left rudder input. I do not have pedals but have the rudder on the stick castle switch - which was working fine before. Can't fly her like this. Also rudder trim input is now very slow. Any ideas? I have Auto rudder selected and 50% take off assist. I have tried without both - same result. After full application to left, it gives full application to the right when released - and vice versa. Big problem when taxying.

Yes you are right...151's for ranging and lead then bring in the cannon. Once I got the mapping right, everything works - trigger for MG's and thumb button for cannon. I shot a Mustang down on our server last night! First success. She is a brute to land though...
-
Thanks for the reply. Yes I had the cowling guns operating by the index trigger, but that has quit and the thumb button fires the outboard cannons only now. Glad to know how it is SUPPOSED to work! I will keep at it...
-
I finally got the safety worked out...but. Am I right in assuming you have to assign three triggers to get all the guns to fire at once? I tried to get one button to do machine guns and one for cannons. "Tools" kept asking for separate triggers. Seems ridiculous to have to press three buttons to get full firing option.

I bought her pre-release sight unseen. Can't wait to get my hands on her....

Yes please! Typhoon needed desperately for Normandy. How do we get this started with ED? I hope I live long enough to see it! And how dare they cut open those engine cases on the Sabre. Sacrilege. Probably a new engine.

[REPORTED] 2.5.5 update Exhaust flame bug?
Hornetjock replied to Shahdoh's topic in Bugs and Problems
Vickers Supermarine Type 337 was a "Day Fighter" - not meant for night ops. In all the books I have read the only time it was used at night was an error on someones part and usually had bad consequences. Fly at dawn to dusk boys! -
Sorry but that gong has already gone to the Spit. The A 8 will be a close second though. :)

Most of the interested people on this subject probably have the F 111 in the other (ahem) sim. She is an absolute joy even without tacpack, just stooging around and getting the landings perfect. In the two greens, brown and black of the RAAF? And the thunder of the full burner takeoff - Mouth-watering...
-
This could have been written for me. Well said sir and I totally concur at 68 years young diving a Spitfire at a flak infested rail yard!...And landing her later.
-
Thanks Master...for such a basic integral feature it should work by now. Oh well, I guess I'm just finding these things. Others have been waiting for more important fixes. Cheers.

...is a waste of time, as in Replay the a/c simply loses its focus and crashes, or gets hit with AAA, when it did not in the original track. We could make some great movies if only this problem was de-bugged and the "save track" did exactly that. Some time on this for a future update please?
-
I was thinking of some of the twins like the A 20 and B 25 maybe. They saw heavy action in Normandy - Flyable B 17? But Streakeagle is right of course - its not what is requested so much as what will sell. I still say a Tiffie would be great. Just have to get a few hundred simmers to agree!

Prop interconnection/why an early production LF Mk IX?
Hornetjock replied to Lythronax's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
Rocket firing Hawker Typhoon (bubble canopy) is a must have! -
I think we are unlikely to get a Typhoon of any type at study level. Probably static only. There are too many American alternatives - even though playing a lesser part. Here's hoping though...
-
The P 38 got Photo Recce jobs. Exactly where it belonged.
-
This seems like the place to put my request for a Hawker Typhoon. All this talk about planned aircraft for DCS Normandy...how can this one not be right up there? Maybe too hard as there is no flying model. But Aeroplane Heaven had a good go at it. A rocket firing Tiffie - NOW we're talkin'!
-
You can place a train, wagons or locomotives as static objects one by one - if you are careful of alignment and using the linking check. We have tank cars and locos at sidings in Caen which we regularly rocket with Mustangs. They blow up and burn nicely. You can also site 37 mm around the area for more fun and games.
