  1. Having trouble with missions I set up with German AAA (88's). They are more accurate/powerful now and near misses take you out. Set up an AI and told him to attack air defences while I watched on F2. Interesting and deserves a tutorial "Dealing with AAA in new DM". Seems he climbed beyond their range (about 8,000 ft) and rolled in steep at reduced power. Much smarter than me - and more accurate. I like the new effects - much more of a challenge now. I am taking the time to climb and zoom like an AI. I might even survive to RTB one day....
  2. Agree Nick - It would do so much for the making of screenshots and cinematics to have a few fitters/armourers around. Blue for RAF, Grey/green or white for Luftwaffe and dark blue for USAAF. Would fuel bowsers and a NAAFI tea van with girls be out of the question? Sick of putting the same old Bedford in airfields. Guys standing around with rifles can't help with a cannon stoppage. What about drums and ladders at least?
  3. Thanks for your efforts - this was very dramatic and well done. Only one small comment - It's a pity that makers of cinematics fail to code Spitfires in correct squadron codes and just rely on the old O1O default. The correct coding is easy to do and adds so much to the realism. I have mh 434 ZD-B in my lineup and it looks great in D Day stripes.
  4. You can create it yourself in ME or Instant Missions by going to Re-arm re-fuel in the comms menu and simply overtyping the tail number quoted with zdbmh434 and replacing the default Spit with June or August 1944 paint. Click OK and there she is.
  5. Been through the same issues, done the BigNewy cleanup, went back to stable versions of Nvidia drivers, updated again with uninstall and clean install. Still no fix. Like you I am stumped. Now looking at Nvidia control panel which has not loaded and I cannot get it up no matter what. This could be an issue.
  6. THIS is what is missing from the ED P 47 startup....lots of oilsmoke.
  7. Oooops! I thought the "popping" sounds was actual gunfire from small arms and mortars etc near the field. Thats what it sounds like to me, and thats OK. Normandy after invasion after all...
  8. Before release, please o please give us genuine Squadron codes instead of the awful default ones. Thanks for the work - as always.
  9. Get your point that top level dogfighter is badly needed - also seems we might be getting V1's and their launch sites. OK, a Tempest it is! I'd be happy with either.
  10. Could not agree more! What is Normandy without the Typhoon? Well said. Oh - and thanks for the screenshot!
  11. Yes the trains as they exist are very poor, but you can still have fun with them in a rocket Mustang. I find coming in astern at 4 O'Clock to the train allows less "lead" and a steadier target. Then stopping it with a hit is fun. Take your time to demolish it. Like you, I hope ED improve this model.
  12. Ok - Given we have the Spit and Mustang for the Allies, my list would be... Typhoon Typhoon Typhoon and last - Tempest. Thank You.
  13. Not to mention...Normandy needs the Typhoon given how many squadrons of them operated there and how it turned the battle at crucial times. Give us the Tiffy!
  14. Ok that explains it thanks Terry. Yes a deal breaker!
  15. Loaded into Missions, but is asking for the Mods, Mosquito, V1 etc?
  16. All downloaded ready to fly. First thing I did was go to ME and re-do the Spitfire liveries for Reflected's 611 Squadron. Perfect.
  17. Thanks for all the contributions. I will try to replicate your landing descriptions, however I think the modelling is wrong for real life basic pilot talent in WW2. They would have only got half or less back to the hangars! Shockies need adjustment for a softer ride IMHO.
  18. I think I have a reasonable grasp of this pilot stuff, having mastered the Spit, Mustang and Sabre - I find it impossible to land the A8. The gear is so stiff and springy that she will not transition from flight to ground roll. I have touched down with a babys kiss and still bounced or had the gear collapse. Over the fence at around 220, easing to around 160 for touchdown. I have tried flare and wheeling it on. Help please.
  19. The Spitfire rudder has been erratic for some time now - since an update changed the way it operates. If you get to the outside view and just use X and Z on the keyboard you will see what I mean. Release from a full right input results in an uncommanded full application in reverse. I raised it as a bug and was told to await a patch in a future update. Still waiting. I don't have rudder controller and have it bound to a switch on the stick. Haven't been able to taxy the Spit for ages.
  20. I have downloaded a fresh copy of CH Control Manager and am running Win 10 64 bit. The throttle is stuck at 30% and will not close to idle on ALL aircraft in the sim. Whereas before I could get to the calibrate button (I deleted the previous version of CH Manager when the problem arose) now I cannot get it into Mapped/Direct modes nor calibrate. Looks like a conflict between Win 10 and CH. Anyone else strike this weird problem?
  21. I refer to closed Ticket 88047 dated July 2019. Advised by ED to wait for update patch. Latest Update 34864 downloaded today with no reference to the Spitfire. Any advice on a fix date please?
  22. You simply can't do that in flight - after take-off, close to the deck, looking down and left for the wheel, to trim out the one and a half or so turns you put in for take-off. Good luck with that.
  23. WRONG!!! How about trimming OUT the takeoff trim after you've got her level and the engine management done for cruise. THAT'S when its annoying. You can't look down and left to use the wheel with the mouse, takes too long, so you have to have it bound.
  24. BTW...the rudder bug as reported is still there in 33552. Unflyable. Or...un-take-off-able.
