Glad to see mostly everyone is really enjoying multi crew! I am really enjoying the increased scope of the missions now possible. Last night we flew in a dedicated JTAC to the AO, dropped him off, dropped him some vehicles and spent the rest of the night supporting him. Picking up downed choppa crews they can now jump in and ride home with you, how cool is that!
-
+1 for the TPR's, the fine control for warbirds and choppas is just amazing! Until I got them I had no idea it could be this good. Excellent product.
-
New invite here: https://discord.gg/ES9ERUqj Choppa Tuesday is set for a massive shot in the arm with multi crew in the Huey, we are set for some really cool missions utilizing that feature. Fun times ahead!
-
The cool thing is now we have someone to flick the switches and turn the dials while we are flying!

Finally today we got the multi crew experience many of us have been waiting for for a long long time. My first experience tonight was a heck of a lot of fun! We (The Flying Kiwis) filled a couple of Huey's to the brim and headed out, the inter aircraft banter was gold, the reactions within the aircraft to events made it really feel like we really were one crew in our own aircraft, dyeing together was tragically awesome. In all it has opened up so much scope for our missions and enjoyment of DCS. Sunday nights mission we are going to ferry in a JTAC, he will do his job on the ground, then we will pick him up and take him home, how cool is that! One really cool thing to do (in VR) is if your in the copilot seat stand up and walk down the back of the choppa, freakishly realistic experience, my pilot started to maneuver and I had to yell at him that I wasn't holding on to anything! It really was cool to plonk myself down on the seat next to the door gunner and poke my head out. Thanks for finally solving this riddle ED, it was not a wasted effort! So what cool experiences have you guys had?

vr Настройки Bignewy Reverb G2 для высокой частоты кадров
Woody01 replied to BIGNEWY's topic in Virtual Reality
Interesting, I tried your settings Bignewy and mine ran way worse, averaging around 25fps and really stuttery, I stuck it back to where I had it and its smooth and running high 30's - 45fps. A lot of things are radically different too and higher settings for water and AF. Running a G2 on a 2080 Super, 32G RAM, i7 8700 on a M2 SSD. I'm happy where it is at though and at least the G2 is not crashing like the G1 did. So many different things work for so many different systems... -
Yep your right toutenglisse, thanks for that, I guess I was in a bit of a hurry when I did the example above, should have thought it through a bit more. Ill have a look at your example this evening. Thanks a lot for that

Thanks sirrah, I appreciate the feedback. The original goal of doing this was to have a small trigger zone around a Land Rover so when a helicopter hovered over top it would have a message to all about a pickup, so the pic above is only half the story I guess. Thanks though, I think I get what you are saying. As I said I can get it to work ok with ships and aircraft just not ground units. I will keep on experimenting and try your advice.
-
I can set it up for a plane or ship just fine but I cant get 'Unit inside moving zone' to actually stay with a ground unit, I find it just stays where it is at mission start and the truck drives off not longer attached to the moving zone. I have not tried it with every ground unit mainly just trucks and Land Rovers. Can anyone see anything obvious I may have done wrong in the attached pic or does it just not work for ground units? Thanks.

Last Choppa mission of the Syrian campaign, one not to be missed! Wopwopwopwop
-
From formation practice to air to air refueling, CASE 1 or CASE 3 carrier ops, or an organized 'Work up' series that explores some of the more complex elements of aerial warfighting as a team, either way Thursday is the time to come and learn stuff.

Our main gathering each week, the big Sunday mission! Always something new and unique, from campaigns spanning months, to single one off missions or we might just gather on the dedicated server and make something up on the spot and there is no shortage of options there! Sure to leave you exhausted in that 'good burn' sort of way. A night not to be missed.

Helicopter based missions every Tuesday night 20:00NZ, Kicking off from The Flying Kiwis Discord channel. Always something new and challenging. One of our biggest weekly events.

Update on what TFK have going on. Our dedicated server is running 3 unique maps that have all modules available on 9 or 13 hour cycles, the maps have an amazing array of targets with kneeboards containing information on all target coordinates, tanker and carrier info etc... All missions are completely randomized with SAM and aircraft threats and have cool features you will not find anywhere else. If you are sick of some of the unfortunate behavior you can often find on public servers you might find an outfit like TFK could be really enjoyable for you, it really is a great bunch of guys. Squadron page now up in the clubs area. The Flying Kiwis - ED Forums (eagle.ru) We will remain active over the Xmas period running 'Choppa Tuesday', training on Thursdays and our main mission on Sundays, all commencing at 20:00NZ, though with the dedicated server you may find people on there at all times, any day.

I got my Reverb G2 today and overall it runs great, right up to the point when your a couple of hours in on the Syria map and you hit F10 and it crashes.

An hour and a half in tonight, steam VR shut down. So unfortunately for me the USB thing didn't help. Interestingly I had a second Steam VR crash, after I had left DCS while chatting on Discord. The plot thickens... It was very hot here tonight is all I can put it down too.
-
Can anyone point me too a working version of this script? It used to work great but cant get it too function anymore. :( Thanks.
-
It took me a bit too find it too Harlikwin, but its there. Go to settings, power and sleep, additional power settings, change plan settings, change advanced power settings, scroll down too USB settings and you should find it there. I will give this a try tonight and remain hopeful!
-
Yes sorry i should have given more actual information, it was getting pretty late though. I will compile what I can as soon as I can following the trend over the last few pages, we will get too the bottom of this!

Hey for what its worth guys, I have been following this thread closely as it is something that effects me a lot. I thought I would try Pikeys page file settings and instant improvement (going from 'let windows manage it'), in that I dont have to try 4 times just to be able to jump in an aircraft on our MP server (crashing at the selection screen), maybe just twice now. Also had slight improvement across the board crashes wise but alias it is still crashing under the same circumstances. Tonight after a 700 mile, 3 refuel round trip with under 100 miles to go back too the boat after an amazing 2:45 mission I was scrolling through the kneeboards to find the carrier BRC, slipped off the modifier (thereby hitting F10 with my HOTAS setup) and bam! No more DCS for you. Sad guy :( I am glad to see you guys are getting somewhere with this, if I can help in any way let me know. But I apologize, I am not a professional bug reporter, just a guy trying to fly in VR and I dont really know my way around windows settings, SteamVR settings, windows settings etc... But keen to get too the bottom of it.

From what I understand higher octane fuel takes more energy to ignite, so it pulls heat out of the engine to assist with combustion. I used to think the higher the octane the more 'flammable' the fuel is, but its quite the opposite. The higher the number goes the harder it is to ignite but the more energy it gives off once it ignites. That's how it was explained to me by the more experienced guys when we used to run AV gas in our moto x bikes anyway.
-
That is consistent with what I am getting, main crashes for me are role selection menu and F10 map view. SUPER frustrating! i7 8700, 2080 Super, 32G RAM, M2 SSD, HP Reverb.
-
Running higher octane fuel would reduce engine temperatures, so that would be welcome in the Mustang.
-
Turns out it was probably the horrendous weather I was flying in. In good weather it was the deck lights were visible from about a mile out. Would have thought it would be a bit further though.
-
Practicing Case 3 recovery's last night and we couldn't get the deck lighting to come on at all. Went through all the proper comms at the right time and nothing, couldn't see the boat until I was literally on it. The only thing that was working was the long range line up light. This was on the USS Harry S. Truman.
