  1. We are interested to have opinions on how the air combat AI for DCS and a future FC3 could be improved. As most of you know, the textbook bible, still compulsory reading for fighter pilot training is "Fighter Combat" by Shaw. See http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fighter-Combat-Manoeuvring-Robert-Shaw/dp/0870210599 May I suggest you respond in the following manner - "this feature xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" needs to be improved. See pages xx of "Fighter Combat" by Shaw.
  2. I am sure that the ED team must sometimes empathise with the views of the last 30 seconds of this Billy Connolly skit!
  3. I have done a test in BS2 1.1.1.0. See attached mission. RPG is very effective. Chance of a helo being brought down by an AK47 is very low. AI infantry v helo fire test.miz
  4. Thank you - very interesting. A couple of questions:- - You added the model to one country. If you want to add to all countries, is their a quick way, or do you have to repeat for all countries? - For large models with different LODs at different distances, how is this done? - How do you build levels of destruction if the model is hit by a shell/bomb/missile etc?
  5. Here it is what it is like landing in extreme conditions. You can duplicate this in DCS:Black Shark 2 by setting meto wind to 15 m/s I guess only Fraser could land Black Shark in these conditions!
  6. A10C and Black Shark work fine on the laptop in my signature,
  7. Please could you explain further?
  8. You could also buy the tactical chart http://www.fighter-collection.com/pages/tfc/shop/index.php
  9. This will not be a patch. It will be a paid-for add-on title for those who have already purchased LockOn and/or FC2.
  10. Dear All Please give more feedback on bugs and additional features for an FC3.
  11. Hope on "Black Friday" that those who have not bought DSC:A10C from Best Buy do so! We had a hard time convincing their buyer that they should stock such a "specialised title with a minority market"!

    German Advert

    Available here:- http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/misc/
  15. Sorry for the delay - needed time to create: USA UK German See http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/misc/
  16. Yes it was based on the book and endorsed by the author Stepheen Coonts. It was developed by Rowan Software and published in Europe by Mirrorsoft and by its sister company Sphere (Spectrum Holobyte) in the USA. I think it was the first title where you could fly 2 aircraft.
  17. Thanks for all the interest. I am preparing adverts and will post when ready.
  18. Maybe it is all part of a strategy? Can ED model fast fixed wing jets - Yes Can ED model rotary wing - Yes Can ED model prop aircraft - Who knows?
  19. If you pm me, I can send an advert but it is 22MB, so you need to tell me where to upload.
  20. Not necessarily. In the US military, there is a serious evaluation that for COIN operations the best solution would be a turboprop aircraft, costing one tenth of modern jet aircraft See http://defensetech.org/2007/05/08/the-coin-aircraft-comeback/ Mind you the USAF is dead against the concept. They would much prefer to have JSFs costing $110M (and counting) to do the job. Any USAF officer that supported turboprops would lose his career!
  21. Trust me, flying a powerful prop aircraft is a lot more fun!
  22. He bailed out at what is believed at 300ft and survived without major injury. He must have thought through such eventualities that he did it automatically, amazing airmanship.
  23. As in the real world. You can only be current on one aircraft at a time. If you switch to another aircraft you have to go through a full refamil program. The days of the 2nd WW when you just "kicked the tyres, checked Pilots Notes for stalling speed" are long gone. Looking at his log books, my father flew 56 Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm types from the Seafire XV culminating in the Sea Vixen. I do remember, when I was 16 years of age, Dad for 3 evenings reading the Sea Vixen Pilots Notes that were about 3 inches thick. Seafire XV was 44 pages!
  24. Check out the aircraft that we fly: http://fighter-collection.com/pages/tfc/legends/index.php Though the exact varient that is being modelled we no longer own.
  25. DCS World. As in the real world, there are still 2nd WW aircraft flying around,
