  1. Agreed. We used the helo configuration at a military trade show: Look at Alex flying the Ka-50. The level of control was a quantum leap over using standard consumer controls, in particular for helo controls.
  2. It is plug and play. You just have to fix to a platform/base. Wooden board would be OK. Works OK with FSX, FC2 and DCS.
  3. High quality - but not cheap! http://www.rcsimulations.com/cadet.html
  4. Yes - I really enjoy flying low through that Valley. We ought to do a Red Bull timed race competition through the valley, with AAA on the sides to ensure the player keeps low!
  5. Lock On Platinum does not have Crimea, only Caucasus area of Black Shark and A10C. For Crimea - keep Lock On your HD.
  6. After about 15 minutes I did get a feeling of dis-orientation. But this was old technology. I am sure there are military here who are using HMDs and will give better feedback.
  7. How do you eat an elephant? A bite at a time. Just be patient.
  8. There was a company that was selling VR goggles to the consumer market for about $1,000. So the view changed to where you looked (so Track IR not necessary). Problems: The view would get of sync with your head position. The screen definition was too low to accurately distinguish ground targets. I experimented with them and did not like them. My preference is for 3 screens with Track IR. However that was 4 years ago, and the technology should have improved: http://www.virtualresearch.com/products.html I have tried the professional ones, and their screen definition is better, but the helmet is cumbersome, and they cost +$40,000! http://www.rockwellcollins.com/sitecore/content/Data/Products/Displays/Soldier_Displays/SimEye_SX45_Helmet_Mounted_Display.aspx
  9. With Teamspeak/TARS, can one playback the sound after a mission and watch the trk file in sync, assuming you launch both simultaneously?
  10. It should be widely available in the US:- Target, Amazon, Best Buy etc. However we are waiting for confirmation. When we know we will make an announcement.
  11. It is very difficult to find somewhere to buy a digital download of Lock On. Maybe contact Ubisoft. Alternatively you can buy boxed Lock On and Flaming Cliffs 2 (which is Lock on Platinum) here: http://www.fighter-collection.com/lockonbuy.htm
  12. "DCS:A10C Warthog" has just been given a Metacritic score of 87. http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/dcs-a-10c-warthog/critic-reviews That puts the title at 7th in the top ten of scores so far in 2011! Feel free to add your own scores!
  13. You could sell that for a fortune on ebay! Suggest you take several boxes! I'd pay you £100 to add to my historic archive - Falcon signed by myself and Gilman Louie. etc.
  14. Lucky man! I particularly wanted to time roll rates, turning circles etc etc! Though I am sure they will be stripped down to the most agile configuration. If you meet any of the pilots, tell them about your involvement with DSC:A10C. In a previous year there was an A10C static display with the pilot, and I talked to him and he had been trained using the DTS:A10C that we developed, and he was most complimentary and full of praise!
  15. With great regret I will not be able to attend RIAT this year though there will be an air display by the West Coast A10 Demo Team / 81FS. http://www.airtattoo.com/airshow/Aircraft/participation/US-Military If anyone is attending, please video the A10 air display!

  18. Yes - I think we are 2 months away from availability.
  19. Yes that is correct. Also Amazon (US and UK) should be stocking. But please be aware that we are still correcting for all errors that users have found etc!
  20. The A10C Manual is being finalised for the printers. An announcement will be made when it is available for purchase.
  21. Hi DarkMellie, I have sent you a pm.
  22. Also here: http://fighter-collection.com/pages/tfc/flight%20simulation/index.php
  23. Concerning pilot workload and training. For those who may not be aware, there is an excellent TV series called JETSTREAM. It follows the training of Canadian F18C pilots. It is one of the best that I have viewed, and lessons are applicable to this debate.
  24. Happy birthday - hope the sun is shining today in the granite city!
