  1. I concur, I also have my eye set on several modules that I would like to dip my toe with, but why would i bother to throw good money after bad, when ED continues to ignore fundamental & core performance issues to literally waste their time on bringing us ...... clouds,,,,,,,, yes v2.8 is all about clouds...... i could give less than a flying rats ass hat about clouds. try making some changes to the real underlying issues & stop ignoring the pleas from your community to improve the core engine. just how much more potential revenue is ED squandering by ignoring the simple fact that users are either put on hold, waiting for some/any improvement or simply opting away from DCS & leaving altogether. smarten up ED. #fuckDCSclouds
  2. Has there been any update to this? also interested to identify suitable cards for this framework. can someone from the DCS-BIOS team assist? thanks in advance
  3. Hoping somebody can identify whether or not there is any information on a DCS-BIOS controller reference profile for the apache? is it likely we will see one released? or is DCS-BIOS completely abandon ware now & even new module profiles are not being provided? (here's hoping that's not the case). or is it simply a bit too soon to expect the profile to be available just yet? thanks in advance to any who can provide some insight. cheers
  4. Also verified by 2 members of 229AHB Members were flying multiplayer, UH-1H airframe, and landing at FARP to rearm/refuel. apols - logs unavailable, have asked member to forward/post here.
  5. my stay at home would be much more enjoyable with a OH58D module to fly......
  6. Hey guys, one of the lads from 161 has built his F-18 panel using TM MFDs and these screens in portrait mode & using Helios export. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32325924891.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.34584c4dtxLyjB HDMI/VGA/AV Control Driver Board + 8"inch HJ080IA-01E 1024*768 IPS high-definition LCD Display For Raspberry Pi Edit: "oops" - on following the ebay link on Siera99's post above, it appears to be an identical item I had submitted a panel design to the virpil competition, but it didnt make it into the short list due to not meeting guidelines the MFD and the screen panel (as well as the control board) fit into the virpil panel boxes neatly however there wasn't enough to room to use the display panel and place push buttons around the perimeter and not use the TM MFD the TM MFDs are well established and this seemed irrational to not utilise them all that is required for this panel is to: cut a recess centrally in the top of the panel box 108mm x 108mm with corners radius to 13mm mount TM MFD control to top of panel (screw holes to be determined, as I don't actually own one) mount LCD panel to inside of top panel (screen size 174mm × 136mm × 2.75mm) mount controller board to base of panel box (Board Size:70mm x 50mm x 8mm) obviously any panel box that meets the measurement requirements could be used.
  7. сенсационные парни большой интерес к этой панели, но некоторые хотели большей ясности, чем предположения очень признателен sensational guys lots of interest in this panel, but some were wanting some more clarity than assumption much appreciated
  8. превосходно, спасибо Баур, (не хотел тратить свое время). superb, thanks Baur, (didnt want to want to use up your time).
  9. Russian > English translation assistance Greetings Gentlemen (& Sim Pilots) I was hoping one of our Soviet members might be able to shed some light on this excellent panel in the helicopter category of the virpil design competition. (Hopefully even the design author himself) I have had some questions from (obviously English speaking) colleagues regarding this panel (& not mine!) as to the button mapping mostly for UH1 & some Mi8 (the ka50 & some mi8 seems fairly straight forward) they are very curious & obviously interested An English Translation would be much appreciated, failing that just a copy of the Russian Cyrillic in text so that I can cut & paste it into google translate... *Primarily they are curious about the UH1 mappings, but some of the Mi-8 mappings as well.
  10. B206 was my old office so some affinity there. The OH-58D is THE helicopter I've been wanting since the days of Longbow.... please Polychop - don't f@#k this up...
  11. AEF 161 do a range of flying in different airframes, both fixed wing and rotary (occassionally) as the demand requires (DDCS missions etc) 229AHB is US based however there is a healthy / active contingent of C Coy participants (Asia/Pacific) who fly mostly Helicopters; Huey mostly, but also Mi-8, ka-50 and gazelle, with the occassional foray into the fixed wing real, mostly in CAS roles (A-10C, AV-8B & FA-18 ) however there are a few who tinker with other platforms as well. Not forgetting the long running 62nd Fighting Falcons that started as a LAN group flying the SU27 v1.5.... in Brisbane 20 years ago and many of the original members are still there and going strong. They moved to Falcon 4 for a while then when DCS matured they moved simulation. They fly numerous fixed wing platforms enjoying vintage jets as well as modern fighters. There are some very talented lads in these groups, you wont struggle for find some excellent resources to tap into their collective knowledge bases and improve the quality of your flying and enjoyment.
  12. Yup, pulled it apart and found the STM micro processor on the boards and there's only the 3 pin cable coming back to the base. I'm not going to be able to do what I planned and the simplest solution would be to buy a gladiator mk2 for a compatible base and manufacture some mechanical guides to eliminate one of the axis & add some sort of friction lock..... bugger
  13. SCG (LH) grip Gday I recently came across and purchased a LH SCG premium grip off VKB aliexpress store, it will make a perfect helicopter collective grip for my ka50 flying I intend to fabricate a collective to attach it to, I have only taken the side panels off to inspect it and begin my investigations into the internals. If possible I would rather not mess with the internals and simply capitalise on the existing 3 pin plug, however I need to be able to work out the connectivity to do so. Im looking to attach it to a small pro-micro board (arduino mini clone) potentially with MMjoy to keep it simple for me, (otherwise Im going to have to learn to code in arduino as well) Im just hoping someone might be able to give me a heads up with either a wiring schematic or at least a list of chips in the grip, so that I can take that along to my good friend who is much better with electronics than I am (though thats not hard) and has been helping me with some more delicate soldering tasks. thanks in advance :pilotfly:
  14. yes indeedy - no change at all, it was only by accident i discovered the exit and re-enter F10 map was actuating the co-ordinate change.
  15. I was online MP a few weeks back and having issues with changing F10 co-ordinate system (LAlt+Y) thought it was broken, not working at all, however discovered that leaving F10, going back to F1 pilot view then returning to F10, after having attempted to change the co-ords (LAtl+Y) the co-ords had changed, but then required to exit and jump back into F10 each time I needed to cycle back. Co-ordinates will NOT change whilst in F10 view (in MP).
  16. AI Door-gunners still broken with M60s, there is a workaround select each door-gunner manually and fire the weapon (it will only single shot, not auto) then change back to pilot and set weapons free, AI should now kick in however mini-guns still don't work at all. pretty please - can someone fix this asap, its all we have in the hueys...
