  1. This is going to be the longest 7 hours and 55 minutes at work in my life... :(
  2. Hi, Where are the new skins and how to access them in 1.0.1? They are not among the old ones when I "create a mission" and arm my helo... Thanks!
  3. Hi, I love the new patch! However, :helpsmilie:is required... The new trimmer is truly a great solution to all the problems we heard about from people without FF joysticks. I belong to that group and I really enjoy the new approach. Nonetheless, just after applying the patch, while trying it all out a strange thing happened. I was crusing 240 km/h trimmed and leveled and suddenly there was NO response from my stick... :smilewink: The pedals remained working so did the throttle and since I use X52 that could have not been a cable disconnect (joy & throttle are connected and if one stops working the other won't work either). I experienced that three times. Always after keeping the trimmer pressed for a while and manouvering then after releasing it when in stable flight. The next manouver I wanted to perform I had no authority in the stick... Any ideas? Anybody had a similar experience? Regards - darek
  4. Make sure that when you run VAC System you not only choose a VAC profile for the DCS:BS by clicking the right mouse button on the VAC icon next to the Windows Clock but also choosing the option called "VAC On"... Hope this helps!
  5. OK guys, I have tried a few more times and it never happened again! HOWEVER,... :) while lifting off you can tell at least one of the main fuselage wheels is sort of "glued" to the surface and you need to increase alt VERY SLOWLY and compensate with the cyclic to keep the helo at ZERO horizontal speed! After a while (half a second???) the ground "releases" the gear and you're airborne! :D Thanks a lot! So you CAN land and take off anywhere! :D
  6. No de-ice - 30 degrees summer midday - yes, high in the mountaines but still Sochi was set to 30 Celsius... :/ Sure I set the auto-throttle! ;)
  7. :D Amen! Hmmm, dust covers were on... :/
  8. I've had an "experience" today ;) I took off from Sochi and headed North-West, into the mountaines. I started following a river and climing higher and higher as the terrain around me started to change. On my way I found many school busses on the roads... but that's not what I want to tell you about :) Suddenly the steep mountain slopes revealed a beautiful lake with a flat bank. I decided to land there and maybe catch a few fish for dinner. I performed a nice approach from the center of the lake towards the flat bank and nicely put the helo not far from a nearby settlement. After having a nice talk with the native folk and exchanging our t-shirts  I decided it was time for me to leave. As the Coroner has later revealed some teen village boys have tied my main gear to the ground and as soon as I increased the collective my shark blew up!   Seriously, what happened? Why did I turn into a fireball soon after increasing the collective? Did I dig in the ground???
  9. Hi, I would kindly like to ask if there are any volunteers for creating a unique, personalised and fictional skin for me. I wouldn't like to go into detail as this will involve a very small number of people here. Please, do not feel offended. I heard many people offer their skills and time to those that have no talent, skinning knowledge or both. I hope to get in touch with anyone who would like to help. Please, PM me if you would like to know more. Thank you!
  10. Thanks for the reply! :)
  11. No, I'm not... :/ Oops - I never thought that might be the reason (CAS helos have very basic bases, right? so I thought takig off from anywhere is fine! ;) ) but that might just be the case! :) Hmm, I think there should be a recorded sentence from the Tower saying "negative" or something like that... BTW: what is the proper sequence of commands? 1) requset engine start 2) request taxi 3) request takeoff OR hover??? Or perhaps hover is used when "inbound" has been signaled and just before "requesting for landing" will??? Thanks!
  12. Hi, I cannot get a takeoff clearance from the Tower. I am correctly tuned in because e.g. controlled hover, azimuth and other F6 tree commands work (I get replies)... Why doesn't the Tower say anything after I ask them for Takeoff? Thanks!
  13. I had a similar issue when I was using racing pedals for a rudder... What rudder have you got? For some reason the game (especially the auto hover) won't work with anything else than a proper set of flight rudder pedals...
  14. To narrow the VAC issue down a little bit: - when I test VAC profile in VAC Builder ALL the spoken commands are cecognised but NOT ALL enable the key pressings (in a detail window) - in the game even fewer spoken commands are recognised and executed (e.g. enable ground power works but requesting takeoff doesn't - and that's after switching to VHF2!) - in the VAC Builder when using "say" feature in the "Activation Phrase" window my command is hardly ever recognised correctly (even thou my accent is ok and I speak loudly and clearly), I have also moved pronounciation slider in the Speech Settings in Control Panel in Windows...
  15. Yes!!! Fantastic! Thanks a lot! Whooohooo! Just one to go! :smilewink:
  16. You were right EtherealN - all I had to do was switch back from Ground Crew to VHF 2! I suppose this could put in the checklist... :smilewink: It's 1 out of 3! Anybody to help with the remaining problems? Thanks!
  17. Hi, I have three issues which I'd love you to help me with: 1) I am trying my luck with the Voice Activated Commands (VAC) software to communicate with the Ground and my fellow AI squad members. Everything works in the tests inside the VAC Builder but dies inside the game, when I enable the VAC System in the background. Before you ask: I have saved my profile, I have loaded it in the VAC System, I have enabled VAC On and I have NOT issued any buttons for voice commands (the mic hears everything)... Other than that the VAC is NOT disturbed by other sounds as I'm playing with my headset on! 2) Even using the keyboard to communicate with the ground crew I have noticed that they respond ONLY to my F10 tree of commands (maintenance). I am not getting ANY answers to any of the actions requested from the Tower (F6)... You must know I perform a full engine startup sequence according to Kamov Ka-50 "Black Shark" Normal Checklist v1.8 available somewhere on this forums and considered to be the "proper" startup chcklist! 3) I have my Saitek X52 working fine with the game and my pinkie switch assigned to be my trimmer BUT I cannot assign (and make it to work) the CLUTCH button! I only guess it is the small button with the "i" symbol on it placed on the throttle (inside the smaller rotary). If I'm right, could anybody tell me how to assign a key to it??? I know those are rather complex issues but I would really appreciate any kind of help as I've wasted hours on finding the answers both in game and on the forums already... Thanks!
  18. Hi, Thanks a lot for the replies! I only had like 30 minutes to mess around with the software (so far I've tried VAC) but already I have more questions... I have installed VAC correctly with Bulder and System (I'm not sure if I'm naming them right as I'm at work now and cannot check) files present. I run the Builder and create a profile. I add a command name [say], add the spoken text [Radio] and lastly configure the key command [#] (it may appear as "/" on some keyboards). Then I go and check it. The results are that everytime I say "radio" the key reffering to the "#" symbol is pressed and released. I then save the profile and enable the System. To finish I enable the previously created profile containing the programmed command and enter the game. I start from a cold start. Enable 2x Batteries, Intercom and the radio to Ground Crew. Pressing "#" brings up the menu in the top right with standard options but even shouting RADIO as loud as I can :smilewink: has no effect! Why? What am I doing wrong? You must know that I have the MS Speach configured and trained, just as I have my microphone set and checked. Besides, it works inside the VAC tester... :helpsmilie: Also, since it has to work at some point :smartass:, is it possible to: 1) assign e.g. F10 key in VAC? Pressing it doesn't input anything into the "define key command" window in VAC... 2) assign complex commands that would follow a few key pressings, e.g. saying "Enable Ground Power" would press in a sequence: # - to enable the menu F10 - to enable the Ground Crew submode F4 - to enable Ground Power context menu F1 - to request enabling the Ground Power ??? Thanks!
  19. Hi, I was wondering if there was anything like voice commands for Black Shark? So, e.g. all the commands for the ground crew, tower and wingmen were made with the use of speach. Thanks!
  20. I've always been a fan of people that have no clue what they are doing :D GAME is full of them... :/ I've been to Game today and Black Shark is not even on their list for the following month... :D The "game specialists" asked me if it was a JAWS II game - a shark simulator... I turned around and went home... I think if you work somewhere you are obliged to have some knowledge about the stuff you're doing... Just a personal opinion but... perhaps the GAME crew should be retrained to work in a different business cause thay suck all the way on their current positions... I don't know... gardening maybe? >:-(
  21. I think that at speeds that actually make the wings produce a significant amount of lift the rotor stream (downwash) actually disturbs a very small part of the airflow or doesn't disturb it at all... We're talking 150 km/h and more. At slower speeds the wings don't produce any force that could help in such manoeuvres so the downwash can disturb them as much as it wants...
  22. Hi, I was playing with my shark yesterday :megalol: and tried to perform something that seemed to be a mix of a barrel-roll and a loop. I climbed high in vertical, sped up to ~230 IAS and levelled up maintaining the speed with ~40% collective. I gently pulled the cyclic and started to roll right. The chopper went 50 degrees nose up and shortly after was flipped upside down (as I was still rolling). The manouver lacked a proper finish and I had to "save" myself with rough and aggresive steering but it all ended well and the barrel-loop as I called it was performed without loosing my rotor blades. :smartass: However, I never managed to repeat this... I've no idea why. Everytime I am upside-down in the middle of the maneouvre and start falling down I get my blades torn apart. I know why! It's just I don't know how to prevent them from hitting each other. Could you guys give me any clues on how to perform this trick? How to make it at the right speed, alt and tempo so it looks smooth and is safe? Perhaps I should try rolling left instead of right, perhaps I should idle the collective while being upside-down? Please, elaborate! :book: Thanks!
  23. Damn, that however reminds me of one of my old "ideas"... Do you guys think there will ever be a MODERN UNIFIED BATTLEFIELD ENGINE for all types of sims (with an ability to "slide" the time ;) for e.g. WWII sub sims etc.) that would allow linking of different games online and simulate all of them at once with the same HUGE ammount of immersion and realism? That's a challange... :smartass:
