Mine will almost certainly fly into the Nevada scenery. And the Gulf scenery. And the back of the boat. And... :)

Introducing the VKB-Sim ‘Modern Combat Grip’ (MCG)
crab replied to rrohde's topic in VKB-SIM Flight Gear
The home HOTAS is a Cougar. I'd like to up my flying a little, I cant say I've ever been great at fueling and even something as simple as riding the glide slope can sometimes be a trial for me. I'm hopeful a better HOTAS can help overcome old age and a lack of skill in that regard and I can afford it so... why not? And yeah, it's been folks like you with the overwhelmingly positive feedback that has brought me to this pass. :) -
Some lust worthy stuff there...

Introducing the VKB-Sim ‘Modern Combat Grip’ (MCG)

Your right, this is what I was referring to as their day job vs hobby but I'm getting my Acronyms hashed up. My bad on that. I'm not down on the operation, I believe they would be my first choice if it could be made although it may seem so if it isn't understood these are observations rather than criticism. For my purposes I won't need a new home HOTAS until the fall and maybe the landscape will be different then. Right now you also have the possible outing of a new TM product in the interim but I wouldn't be a customer if it's just an 18 grip. I'm sold on the smoother movements owners are almost universallyreporting from the gunfighter or T50, they feel like the next step. -
Introducing the VKB-Sim ‘Modern Combat Grip’ (MCG)

Virpil is actually shipping products which they show can be bought, people are getting them as we speak. They're every bit a start up operation and it shows in their many delays and other issues but they also appear to be getting off the ground and becoming a working concern. VKB is a start up that has product that it says is for sale but isn't shipping to anyone, hasn't been for some time, and the future date an object they say they are selling may ship is unknown with any estimate best considered tentative. I bought those Japanese knives and I waited a good chunk of a year for my number to come up. This didn't bother me because he was shipping product regularly. I'm not against small businesses or start ups, I root for them. This one isn't working at this time. There really is no time table if you want to order a joy stick. December for a throttle they say but will it be ready? If you want one can you order it and have it realistically show up in an estimated time frame? Maybe. Maybe not. I'll be in the market for a new setup to replace the works when I get back home this winter but can I look at this shop? Probably not. Why? Because this is not yet a functional business from which I can select a produce and expect it to ship within the given time frame. At least not now, I hope that changes but it is the truth today. I hope they make it work in the future but for the time being no product no matter how good is still no product and you cant fly with a stick that doesn't exist. -
In Wags just released last chance video, it appears brighter than I've seen before in other videos. As I recall the word in the "too dim" thread was it was being tweaked, it seems to me thats happened. Cant respond there though because it's closed. Is it just me, anyone else noticing the same? Not sure I can trust my judgement at this point, getting a little excitable. O_o

I'm just glad it isn't waiting until a VKB Gunfighter ships before we can have it. :)

Ten a month sounds legit when you're talking about a kitchen knife done from one end to the other by a single 79 year old master craftsman in Japan. Where does that leave zero per month to make a flight controller? To my mind this isn't an actual functioning enterprise, just some hobbyist making a few bucks on the side when their day job allows. I hope that changes because it appears the product is good but good x zero product = zero product. -
You can in many cases, your scenario is one of them and word has it Wags is using the setup you describe.

I got it, I had read elsewhere it was straight up, obviously not correct. I saw the time you mentioned this morning but a man can always try. All I could do in any event is wander around looking at the map with keyboard commands. Yes, I really am that excited that such sounds pretty good to me so I remained hopeful until reality extinguished that hope. :) The truth is I'm like a kid before Christmas at this point. If anyone had taken my parts as argumentive that isn't the case, I'm a desperate man! :)

You understand I'm just east of UTC+2? It passed 5 hours ago according to your link and I was on both before and after seeing if anything lit up. Here it's been the 23rd for just shy of 12 hours as I type this post. Back home they have a few minutes of the 22nd remaining.
-
I read elsewhere UTC+2 straight up, still now available download so I figure I can safely call BS on that one. This is taking all the fun out of spending half your day in tomorrow. O_o

UTC+2 23 May has come and gone here without any map available... Sigh...
-
Nah, they do everything backwards here! :) Seriously though, I was talking about the PG map although I communicated it poorly. Baby steps...

Trying to figure out how to program this switch on an X65. Wish we had the commands, I could start trying to test some ideas I have... In that respect in the aircraft after turning off NWS it should always start in low the next time, correct?
-
I'm in Yekaterinburg right now so I'm hoping for 0001 hours tomorrow. :)

He mentioned including the mapping in the latest Q&A with crash as well. Link here ----> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yFzsxH4-fe8 Q&A portion starts about a half hour in. He actually gives up quite a lot of information about various aspects of this module including carrier operations and other related tidbits. Highly recommend a watch.

He mentioned inclusion in some fashion during one of the live casts but I don't recall the exact wording.

They've started sorting out the reviews on Amazon so that they are now reflecting this updated stick at 2.5 stars but with only 4 reviews as I type this post. I'd like to see more reviews than that but with 3 out of 4 reviewers having hardware faults I'm most def putting this one out of purchase consideration for the time being.

The only F/A-18 video I will make.... till it's released

The (virtual) Island of Unloved Toys, that's where they're going. I was thinking of Falcon 4 the other day. It was my go to flight sim during it's heyday and beyond and flogged it for years. We flew in real time (no speeding up time in our squadron) which could take a while per mission in the latter part of the campaign where you could be making runs well to the north. I've got fond memories of that game which despite it's warts is still to my mind a brilliant piece of work. I'm getting away from the point though... I think this might be that sim but in this time, I'm pretty sure I'm going to fly the crap out of this thing. I get the feeling I'm not alone either, the excitement is absolutely through the roof around here. Oh, great vid BTW, almost missed saying it. -
I sure don't see anything show stopping going on in any of the videos and it clearly flies now. Wags announced immediately after his return from Moscow they were on time and I don't think that announcement comes so close to it actually being launch time if they weren't ready. I'd guess a more likely scenario is the "one more thing before" factor is in effect and we will wait a little closer to the drop dead date because of it. I'm thinking early to mid next week for our aircraft and early to mid week during the following week for the map for the reasons stated above by Lithion.

In one of the live casts Wags says something about including a profile(s), cant recall if it was his personal or what, maybe someone with a better memory will chime in...?

I go to a remote place for work where I make do with a 10 year old Sidewinder and a lot of keyboard commands, multi-engine or not. It's in no way ideal but I can have fun just the same. I'm not trying to bust anyone's favorite spherical enhancements but some of you are over thinking it. You can play with what you have, if you're not satisfied you can always upgrade.

Yes. :cheer3nc:
