I’m getting something similar in the F-16 on Caucasus. Keeps flicking to lighter and darker. I get it in the Harrier too but not the Hornet. Strange.
-
Sounds like a similar thing to the ghosting effect on the Rift S I’m getting with ASW on...
-
I would've said Caucasus, PG and then NTTR but I've been having some scenery texture issues on Caucasus lately which I cant rectify but Persian Gulf seems fine. Not really spent much time on NTTR since having the Rift S.

Hi mate. Thanks for the reply. Tried the deleting of the two folders, FXO & Metashaders2. I do this quite often especially after updates but it’s made no difference to this particular issue. I notice you mention both metashaders & Metashaders2....I’ve only ever deleted the ‘2’. It can’t possibly be my system I don’t think, maybe a bug which probably the majority of people don’t notice. Thought it could be a RAM issue but I’d be surprised.

Seems this issue is only on Caucasus, not Persian Gulf and haven't tried NTTR. Anyone else experiencing this?? *Does it on the monitor too without the Rift. Bug on Caucasus?

Hi guys, I'm hoping someone can help me... Is anyone else getting textures rendering late when in VR (I'm using a Rift S)? This is happening on Caucasus when at high altitudes. When looking down from say left to right it's like the scenery loading can't keep up. It's bugging the hell out of me and I'm sure this wasn't happening a couple of months or so ago. I've tried all sorts, pre load radius, visibility range etc etc but still the same! I'm getting to the point now where I'm even thinking of going back to Track IR! Thanks guys.....

Ah ok...I’ll have a look. Thanks guys....

Doesn’t TMS up just slew the TDC cursor up? I’m sure that’s mapped to my hat switch...?

Hi guys, which command is it to select a target on the radar? I can only find the uncage option but no target depress option? Thanks....

Interesting. I've got shadows & global illumination off anyway to be fair but I do run PD at 1.5 and also MSAA x2. Rest of my settings are medium really except for the trees as i have to have them at full as I get that weird growing out the ground effect if i don't. My frames with the Rift S are locked at 40 with ASW on and literally don't move unless I'm high up where they will jump to 80. It's glass smooth with ASW on but I get the blurry visuals on other aircraft/wingtips etc etc.. If I turn ASW off then my frames range from low 60's near the ground to 90+ high up. But with it off induces horrible judder when nearer the ground rendering it unplayable with it off. From what I've read if I lower my PD setting and/or MSAA then it should be fine with ASW off, but then I don't want it to look crap with the lower PD/MSAA setting. Rock and a hard place springs to mind!

Isn't ASW 2.0 available on the Oculus Beta? I read somewhere that it was....I might be wrong.

Hi mate, thanks for your reply... Deleting the FXO and Metashaders2 folders is something I do anyway so all good re that. I'll leave things as they are as it's running spot on just with a few minor issues I've noticed since borrowing a friends Rift S back in early June. I just didn't know whether a cleanup or repair was maybe 'good practice' but I've got no major issues so I'd rather not mess things up.
-
Hi guys, Just a quick question re clean up and repair. Is this something that should be done every so often or is it only needed when there's a major issue? I've never done either and my DCS is on a separate SSD with nothing else whatsoever on it. I also run no mods. Just whilst there's several conversations regarding reduced performance since the last couple of betas I thought I'd ask the question. Thanks...
-
Strange because when I borrowed my mates Rift S back in June for a few days it was fine. Might be after a few updates, who knows. Thought about doing a repair or clean up but seeing as I have no mods etc I’m not sure if that is necessary...god knows!

Has anyone noticed some textures taking a split second to load on the Caucasus map in VR? I’m using the Rift S. Only happens at fairly high altitudes....

Oculus: reduced to "small size" of 30MB folder size on the SDD, and "SERVICE ONLY MODE" instead of running freaking Oculus Home (having totally useless 10GB shit stuff on the SDD). I am starting the OVRService by hand only when I need the Rift. Windows 7, not 10! Hi mate, is this easy to do and is it worth me doing it? I’m not fussed about the Oculus Home running all the time...
-
Ah fair enough, that'll explain it....Cheers for that...

Probably a silly question but how do I know my PC is running this Malwarebytes I keep reading about? All Windows 10 updates are done but I can't seem to find any evidence of it existing on my machine...?
-
Same with mine pretty much, high up was ok but down low was stuttering, even though the frames were still high. Very odd...I’ll leave ASW on and put up with the ghosting/blurry bits.
-
So just out of interest what happens when you turn it off? I imagine the frames will not be locked but is it still smooth without it on?
-
Strange because I tried that exact setting and it’s still at 40 but juddery as hell. I’ve just had a flight in the Hornet and it’s locked at 40 and smooth as silk but that’s with ASW on. Maybe it’s a trade off I’ll have to live with until I can figure something out!

Hi guys, I'm hoping somebody can shed some light on an issue I'm having with The Rift S and ghosting images. I'm running DCS at PD 1.5, MSAA x2 and to be fair it's great, very smooth and locked at 40fps. My issue is with the ghosting effect that I'm getting....wing tip blurr, other aircraft blurr etc etc. When I turn ASW off this ghosting effect goes but my frames shoot up to 80 and everywhere in between and causes horrendous stutter. I'm not running debug tool or Traytool mainly because I don't know what benefits, if any, I'll get. I've seen many posts about people turning ASW off and it's fine but it's definitely the opposite in my case. I've had the Rift S for about 3 weeks now but I'm falling out of love with it as this blurry issue is really bugging me! Can anyone help? Thanks guys....

I’ve just noticed it too on Caucasus. High altitude in the Hornet and looking down you can sometimes see the trees rendering. Yeah definitely a recent thing this.
